6 Chapter 4 : Preparations Begin -----------------------------------------

"In the past week, I've tested both Yuna and Kai several times, though Yuna has yet to show any affinity for Chrysalis things, Kai has progressed quite a lot."

"Please don't tell me all he can do is flash white light..."

"For one thing Zico, we could use light as a flash bang against the Manwols, now let Yena finish what she was saying."

"So it turns out, that the Light element can as Zico said produce light. But along with that it also allows Kai to heal both himself and others."

"What the... You can't be serious we have a healing element now?!"

"Apparently so, his healing abilities have not developed yet so he isn't of much use now, but with time and practice he will be able to provide incredible support. But the problem is..."

"Darkness right? If a Light element exists then so should a Dark element and if light heals, well, we can very well imagine what darkness would do."

"Yes, though not found in anyone yet it should be safe to assume that an element of Darkness does indeed exist."

"You two should think of that later, first let's take care of the problem at hand. We've got 97 children out of which 96 have confirmed their affinities. Now what?"

"About Viole, I think we should give her something to do in the council which will not require drives."

"Yuna's right we can't make her feel like an outcast."

"For combat training, we should start by drafting the S,A and higher B ranks to the lines. I'll take care of the training sessions so you guys don't have to worry about that."

"Well at least there's something even Zico's good at."

"Hey watch it I'm good at a lot of things!"

"Such as...."

"Stop already we've got a lot of things to deal with right now. The supplies we've got should last for about 6 months, but I'm against using them up all at once."

"Then why don't we use only about 1 or 2 weeks worth of supplies and save the rest. We could start the farming process during that time. I've been studying the soil composition of VES for a day now and it seems that they missed the extreme level of nutrients present here. Plants that took months to grow back on Earth should grow back in a couple of days."

"Ahhhh, that would explain why the trees in the first kept coming back, I knew I cut them, but I every time I went back voila! A new tree was standing as if always had"

"Oh and Xander, I've made a few training Drives which don't run of Chrysalis, without Chrysalis they can't use the power of elements, but I think practising with them would be better than just using Drives from the begining."

"I would've made them practise with swords anyway, I'm not gonna have a bunch of children wrecking the whole place with their Drives."

"Wait Zico, are you okay? There's gotta be something wrong, Zico's talking some sense toady!"

"And you've got to do that every single time right?"

"Sorry I just can't resist, it's too tempting!"

"Hahaha, very funny...."

"I won't even bother interrupting you two anymore, listen to the final issue and then do whatever you want."

"So, as you remember, we were told that Manwols, despise the summer and always travel from one hemisphere to another to avoid summer. Logically, by now they should've already reached the southern hemisphere, it's May now and in about 5 months they should start traveling back."

"So are you trying to imply that we only have 6 months before out first Manwol encounter?"

"6 is if we're lucky, some may come back early too so let's keep the cap at 4 months."

"So all I have to do is ready a battalion in 4 months. Sounds easy enough, but the only problem is that I'm working with 29 children between the ages of 13 and 16. How the heck do you expect me to get them to be battle ready in 4 months?"

"It's not a question of how, it's a necessity, if almost all of us will become Manwol fodder."

"Take the 29 children whom you selected an train them continuously, we'll exempt them from other duties but make sure they learn everything they can withing these 4 months, at least enough to successfully take down a Manwol."

"Yena, engage everyone else in agriculture. We also need to stock up on wood from the forest, because of the soil, we've got an infinite supply of plants, make sure to exploit that as much as you can. Try to store up enough food to last an year, we can use the facility that stored the supplies for us till now, it should have a considerable amount of space left."

"Okay, I'll do that, what about Viole? You said you'd give her some work in the council."

"Hmmm yes I did... , let's make her keep track of the resources gathered and spent, with so much happening everyday there's bound to be  a lot of entries."

"Good idea, it'll keep her occupied too."

"Oh and Yena, keep making Kai practise his healing ability, once he's ready to support others, just let Zico know and send Kai to him."

"Till then give Kai about an hour everyday, it's not like I want you to just sit and train him, it's better for us to keep a track of the chnages and developments of a new element."

"I was going to do that anyway, Xander, and do you really expect me to not keep a log of the changes..."

"Not really, but you know,  better be safe than sorry."

"Well that's about it let's wrap up now."

"Great, it's almost time for the first training session, I'm not even going to get any rest now."

"Whaaa, even the great Zico needs to rest?"

"And I thought you were a person of science, didn't they teach you that the human body needs to sleep."

"Then what do you do at night, as per the schedule we've already alloted 8 hours of sleep to all children and 6 hours of sleep to all to each of us."

"You really think people follow that crappy schedule?"

"Why wouldn't they? It's pretty efficient."

"That's enough, get to work already.

Winter is coming, and we'd better be prepared for it."

With that ended what people would later on know as the first Council Meeting.

The preparations for winter had began, it was now just a matter of time before the first Manwols appeared.
