4 Chapter 2 : Affinity Test -------------------------------

Yuna Oh was 16 years old, she was 3 when she was sent to VES.

All the children in VES were between the ages of 13 and 19.

Xander, Yena and Zico, born in 2050, were the eldest and had been given the responsibility to coordinate the rest.

As Yuna went to assemble on Xander's call she saw the other children, many much younger than her. Having landed only a few hours ago she had not gotten to know anyone yet. Seeing the other children was a kind of reassurance for her. At least she knew that she wasn't alone.

As Xander explained the Chrysalis and Drive, everyone silently took in the harsh reality they were forced to accept.

"Chrysalis is apparently a rare substance found on VES-19 with the ability to fight against the Manwols we told you about."

"Using the Chrysalis obtained from VES, scientists back on Earth had made devices called Drives to arm humanity against these creatures."

"Not everyone can wield a Drive, we were some of the few humans that had affinity for Chrysalis. As a result we were sent here, to make sure the human race continued."

"We were obviously not able to access an infinite amount of Chrysalis and only a handful of powerful drives could be made."

"While higher class drives are stronger, they also need the driver to have a strong affinity for Chrysalis."

"Everyone present here has an affinity for Chrysalis, your affinity may be for one of the four elements - Fire, Water, Wind and Earth. "

"Back on Earth, a system to measure decide which class you would belong too was developed."

"On the basis of your affinity you will be segregated into 4 grades - S, A, B and C."

"I would like you to remember that these grades are only a measure of your affinity and not your combat ability. Getting a S rank doesn't make you combat ready. A lot of training and practice will no doubt be required."

"Well, with that said let's start the test."

About 70 people had been tested and up till now everyone had shown an affinity of at least 60 in their element.

With every passing test, Yuna felt more and more nervous.

She didn't want to become a freeloader and get mocked at.

Yuna Oh, 16 years old

Her name was finally called and she walked up to Xander who led her to the chamber.

Inside there wasn't much too see, it was dark with sudden flashes of dim green lights.

For about a minute everything was quiet and she thought that this was it. Her fear of not having any affinity for Chrysalis had been confirmed and now she would undoubtedly be abandoned.

Outside, people were confused, by now they should've gotten the results.

Then suddenly the screen flashed...

Inside the chamber, Yuna had no idea about the situation outside.

"Yena, run the tests again, there must be some mistake."

The test was ran multiple times but the same result came every time.

"Zico, are you seeing this?"

"A miracle is the only explanation I can give."

"Yeah, we'll be expecting great things from her."

In the end, Yuna was let out.

Her result was displayed and everyone especially Yuna was speechless. This was something not only she but no one else had ever imagined was possible.

The first Dual Driver had been found.
