21 Chapter 17 : Move on? --------------------------------------------------

"He is the leader of the mining team. Please introduce yourself."

"Yes, sure. Hello, I'm Shojin Uzo, I'm the captain of the mining team. Please take good care of us."

"Okay, let's start so that we can end the day early."

The mine was according to plan. The miners started mining and the others were keeping a guard. No Manwols were in sight and everything was going smooth.

Evening,

"Ahh, I cut myself."

"I'm here, please show me where you've been cut. Oh, your hand, it'll get healed in an instant!"

"Wow, that's extraordinary! Great we have someone like you! Thank you so much!"

"Its not big deal."

"Let's wrap up for today. You guys have done an excellent job. Everyone get into the carrier. The crystals will be transferred through a different carrier designed for crystals."

"Okay, thank you!"

The day ended and nothing really happened. It all went according to plan.

Everyone went straight to sleep after having dinner as they were all tired.

The next day,

"Guys, let's work fast to finish fast so we can go back early!"

The day was coming to an end. It was about time to go back. Only a few were left to mine.

"Hey, Xander, can I go check inside? I really wanted to see how it looks inside."

"Yea, sure Kai, just come back soon."

"Okay, noted!"

Kai went in. He found the dungeon amazing. He had never seen beautiful crystals in their natural habitat. He compared it to an embryo developing inside its shell.

"So beautiful!"

As Kai reached the end of the dungeon, he spotted a narrow path. It wasn't easy to spot as it was dark, that must've been the reason it was left unchecked. Kai thought he wound find more crystals in so he went to check. As he went inside, he found a few crystals. He kept going in without keeping track.

"Where is Kai? Why isn't he back yet?"

"Let's wait for a bit longer. He may be enjoying his time inside."

A light-blue colored slime kind of creature crept above the walls of the path Kai was in. Little did Kai know that he was going deep into its nest. As Kai couldn't find any more crystals, he turned back, and it was getting late too. When he turned back, there were a dozen of those slime like creatures. They weren't that huge in size but were great in numbers. The creatures slowly started creeping over Kai, as if its trying to gulf him up.

"Someone save meeeee...!"

"What's that noise? Xander, did you hear that?"

"What? Did u hear something?Let's go check."

As they progressed in, they heard a miner scream.

"Someone take this off of me!"

Slowly, the creature engulfed the miner. Next, it was taking control over him. His life was getting sucked. His face turned pale and so thin, with his bones visible through his skin.

"What is that? Evacuate fast!"

As they started moving towards the exit, many of the creatures started to jump off the roof and land on them. More of them started rushing from the end of the dungeon.

"Kai!! Where are you?! Byakuya, you take them out safely, I'll try to search for Kai."

Xander progressed in. He saw a man being manifested.

"Hyaaaa!" *slash*

"Thank you so much for freeing me!" *Unconscious*

"I'll have to carry him back. I'll search for Kai after I drop him."

Xander successfully carried him.

"We must wait for Kai."

"No, we can't, they'll catch us if we stop!"

As Xander and the driver of the carrier went on arguing. Someone shouted, "Someone's creeping out of the dungeon, I can see him."

It was Kai, all covered up with the slime creature.

"Kai, hurry up, grab my hand!"

Kai somehow freed himself and started running towards the carrier.

Note: the carrier for humans is a vehicle in the shape of a van with a door on the back.

"Kai, hurry up!" , said Xander with a lending hand.

Just as Kai was about to reach the carrier, the driver decide to start the carrier. The carrier started moving.

"Hey, slow it down!"

"Can't! They're gonna block the exit! We'll have to hurry!"

Kai didn't stop running. Xander stood by the back door of the carrier with a hand out to grab Kai's hand.

"Kai, run faster!"

Kai used his last ounce of strength to run as fast as he never did. And about an inch was left between their arms that a group of the slime creatures hopped onto Kai.

"Noooo.....! Kai!!!"
