15 Chapter 11: New Affinity? --------------------------------------------------

"Zico, how far can she be?"

"According to the stats of her physical training test, she must be about 5km away from the base at most."

"Xander, I have summoned our best shots for the team, Yuna, Byakuya and Kagura. I don't think sending Kai with you will be a good choice, he's lacking agility. I will be holding him in for now."

"Okay, we will try our best to come back unharmed."

The team of 5 head out to search for Viole.

Team - Xander, Zico, Yuna, Byakuya and Kagura.

Meanwhile, above a ravine(a deep, narrow gorge with steep sides) about 4km from the base.

"I was always an outcast. Why was this to happen to me of all?!"

Sobbing in anger, Viole wanted to give up. She decided to jump of the cliff of the ravine.

"Viole, No!"

Just as Xander shouted, Viole jumped off.

"Why was I always treated as an outcast? What did I do to deserve this? Mom....Dad.....Why was I sent here if I don't have any affinity?!" , Viole thought to herself.

Just as she was going to hit the ravine floor, she was surrounded by a yellowish aura and started floating in place.

Viole checks her arms and legs to find out they're in perfect shape.

"Why am I floating? Am I dead already?"

Then, the aura suddenly disappeared and Viole fell on the ground. It was pitch black down there.

Viole tried to manipulate the aura back and she succeeded in doing it fairly easily as if she was born with it.

"What is this? How is this happening?"

As the light of the aura brightened her surroundings, she noticed a cave path.

"How is there a path down the ravine? Was it made by some inhabitants of the planet?"

As she went inside, she saw the walls of the cave to be painted with some sort of ancient script. As she went in without keeping track, she found herself to be in some sort of ruin. It had bright crystals stuck in the walls.

Towards the other end was a Throne made of the same crystals embedded on the walls. On the Throne was a beautifully carved wooden box. Viole, out of curiosity went to the Throne and held the box.

"What is this? A box?! How is it here? Did someone from the base come here before?"

She then carefully opened the box. There was a Drive Stone inside it. As Viole picked it up, the ruin started trembling. Viole felt power she never felt, running through her veins.

"Xander, why did you shout? You are going to give away our location to the Manwols!"

"I'm really sorry. But, Viole....."

"Xander! Zico! There's a huge wave of Manwols heading towards us!"

"Yes, I see them. They seem to be low-class Manwols. Let's try out our new powers."

" Kagura, take left! Byakuya, take right! Yuna, take mid! Me and Zico will back you up!"

Xander and Zico didn't have to move an inch, the 3 cleared them all by themselves. The power they received from the Drivers were unreal.

" You guys are so much stronger than before!"

Just as they thought it was clear, a wave of mid-class Manwols were rushing. It looked like the rhino-like Manwol from the simulation, but smaller. The difference in power between low and mid level Manwols is huge.

"Save your celebrations for later, another wave is approaching us! They look like mid-class Manwols. Be careful, mid-class Manwols are multiple times stronger than low-class ones!"

As they fought the Manwols, it seemed pretty hard to kill them but doable. The thing was, they were outnumbered and their stamina was running out.

"Xander, I don't think we can fight them for long, I'm starting to feel tired."

"Yes, Yuna, I know. But there's nothing we can do, we'll have to help each other to take care of them"

They kept finishing them off but the Manwols kept rushing at them. Time came when there were about 17 Manwols left and the group of 5 were exhausted. They were barely able to stand.

The Manwols started rushing at them. The ground started trembling heavily.

"It must be the Manwols causing the floor to tremble", Zico thought to himself.

" We are dead now." *Sigh*

Suddenly, a bright light covered the ravine and the remaining Manwols were finished. The Manwols seemed to be electrocuted. Sparks were formed from the Manwols bodies as if they were charged with a huge amount of electricity.

"Was the ground trembling because of whatever killed the Manwols?! Such power...."

Viole stood in between the dead Manwols.
