Nisselila

"Mistress wake up!!!", Diane heard as someone was shaking her. Her body still hurt everywhere but she noticed she could breathe easier. As she continued to crawl toward consciousness she still felt exhausted. Every muscle still hurt, and her headache hadn't full left her yet. When she opened her eyes she could kind of see the little person that was with her before. At first she thought her eyes weren't focusing right because the little person seemed to appear and disappear in a weird kind of strobe effect. But then she realized she was literally appearing and disappearing in front of her. "Can you please stop doing that your making my head hurt more.", Diane croaked out of her parched throat. She tried to form some spit in her mouth, but it was too dry and just made her throat scratchy.

"Mistress you must move NOW! He comes", the little person implored her, pointing behind herself to emphasize her point.

Diane could barely move her head, so she knew there was no way she could leave this spot anytime soon. Looking at her scared companion she asked her, "What is your name?"

"I am called Nisselila. But you must get up we must leave now!" she said peering fearfully behind her, "He will be able to see us soon"

"Who is coming? I still don't have the strength to move, you must run and hide while you can."

"He is Slog the slaver. If he captures you, you will be tortured and sold in the markets. If we do not leave right now it will be too late!"

"Listen to me very carefully Nisselila! I will most likely be captured but I want you to turn invisible and hide. Do it right now. When he leaves follow me and try to find a way to free me. Now go!"

Nisselila hesitated for a few more second torn between her fear for Slog and leaving Diane in her weakened state. Diane mentally pushed to her the urge to leave, giving her what she needed to follow her directions. Nisselila turned invisible and Diane could hear her footsteps running past her head. Not long after Nisselila cleared the edge of the crater and Diane couldn't hear her footsteps anymore, she began to hear squeaky wheels approaching from the direction of her feet. She knew she still couldn't move so she lay there to save what strength she had. When the wheels stopped moving, Diane heard what sounded like someone jumping down from a short height. The footsteps where slow and deliberate. The wait for whoever was coming was starting to get to her, just as she was wishing they would just hurry up and get here, a big green ugly head looked over the edge of the crater. He looked like one of the ogres off of Tom's World of Warcraft game, but more deformed. The right side of his head sloped drastically down to his ear which was larger than his left ear. As he climbed over the edge of the crater Diane saw that Slog's body was completely out of sorts with itself. His right shoulder and arm were two times larger than his left. His legs were the same length, but the left leg was half again as thick as the right. His lower jaw looked too big for his face, with his lower fangs curling up past his nose. His left eye was bigger than his right, making his right eye seam beady, giving him a maniacal look. He walked up to Diane and kicked her in the leg causing her already fried nervous system to flare out of control, making her scream out in pain. "Ho ho ho what we got heyah?", Slog laughed clearly excited by her discomfort. He called back over his should, "Bring duh chains we gotta live one heyah" Slog reached down to pick Diane up and carry her to his wagon, her grunted surprised by her weight. Every time he touched her body would spasm with new pain. The poison obviously didn't finish working its way thru her body. She was surprised that Slog was struggling to pick her up, he was very muscular and should have been able to lift her no problem. When he got close to the top of the crater he tossed her over the edge. She almost blacked out from the pain that it caused her. Slog bent down and grabbed her by her foot and began dragging her to the wagon. "Dis one is heavyah den she look.", Slog said having trouble dragging her along. They both were too busy to notice the deep trench she was leaving behind her. Nisselila crept behind them keeping herself hidden from view. "Hey Krong, come give me hand wit her. Some'din ain't right wit her."

"You dink we should jus leave her heeryah. She may be more trouble den she worph.", Krong said

"Nah soon we figyah out what wrong wit her and get her back to health she sell for BIG monay!"

"Yea but some time duh money not worph it...."

"You keep that up and you won't get none of duh cut", Slog growled at Krong

Krong heaves a big defeated sigh, "Fine I'll get the door to the cage."

They threw her into the back of the wagon locking the cage behind them. Diane could still hear them talking as they climbed back onto the wagon. They were so engrossed in their argument about her usefulness and value, that Nisselila was able to climb onto the back of the wagon without them noticing. As they began moving Nisselila said, "Mistress I am here for you." Diane was having a hard time staying awake, but something was bothering her, "Why do you keep calling me Mistress? My name is simply Diane."

"I can feel you here inside my chest and hear inside my head. You are my Mistress, I cannot leave you."

Diane understood what she meant, even with her eyes closed if she thought about it she knew exactly where Nisselila was. She could also tell how she felt. Nisselila's fear for her was driving her to ignore her natural instincts to flee. She truly feared for Diane's life, and is willing to sacrifice her own life to protect Diane. Diane was so touched by her emotions that she started to cry, realizing that Nisselila was crying also. Even though it was incredibly painful and exhausted what little strength she had left, she crawled over to the cage and grabbed Nisselila's hand to comfort her. "After I rest some more and get my strength back, we will plan my escape. I don't know what I'm supposed to do here on your planet, but I promised to protect you. And I intend to keep my promise if it's the last thing I do." Diane drifted off to sleep hoping her words held truth and weren't as hollow as they sounded to her at that moment.
