Divine Judgment

Damien's POV

I am waiting for my turn to be judged by the Lord. He who created all things. Am I afraid? No. I am genuinely terrified of what may come. Yet, I am also grateful. Grateful for being created. Grateful for living. But most of all, grateful for his mercy. He allowed me to live, the times that I have should have died. He gave me the knowledge that most generations have forgotten, and the last generations did not care to know or remember. I am genuinely horrified. Because I know I have not just sinned. I, after learning all the Lord allowed me to learn, by his will and mercy, continued to sin. Not only that. I fell in one fell swoop, with one small thing. I....I cursed at the Lord. I...A mere, insignificant creature dared to directly insult his majesty. The unpardonable sin, blasphemy, was committed by me. I did not just reject the blood of the lamb, I dared to spit on the blood of the lamb. I know what awaits for me.

I am waiting now. And the fear in my soul grows. As I look down, I fell a immeasurably powerful presence in front of me. I immediately threw myself on the ground. Bowing at the presence of his majesty. Of the Lord. I dare not look at him in all his glory. I will be vaporized if I see his light. Then I hear a gentle, but firm voice. "Do you know what will be your judgment? I know everything that has crossed your mind. You do acknowledge that you have forsaken salvation. Yet, that is not something that will appeal to mercy." As I heard those words. I started to tremble. "Stand." He ordered, and I obliged. "raise your head and look at me. I will judge you seeing eye to eye." I trembled again. My neck length white hair was covering my face. I slowly raised my head, while trying to shield my eyes from his light. "You may look." I stopped covering my eyes. What I saw, was an average looking man. It was just as the Lord made flesh was described in his word. A human being. "Litsen well. Your judgment is clear. You are to be thrown into the lake of fire. To that furnace that burns with an an unxtinguisheble flame, aided by the same sulfur I used to destroy Sodom and Gomorrah for their sins." He stated with absolute authority. His voice resonated throughout the world, and the world was moved. His decision is absolute. I am to be damned for eternity. At least I will not be alone. This was one of my two biggest fears.

The Lord spoke again. This time his voice was gentle, like before. "I have a more severe punishment for those who reject the blood of the lamb." His voice changed, and resonated around the whole world again when he spoke next. "Those who rejected the blood of the lamb. Will fall into madness by the century. And you. Damien MacFarlane, you will loose the your sanity by the millennia. You, who kept speaking of me to feel like you have something good in you, at the expense of my word. You. Who prayed and sinned right after. The madness that shall fall upon you will have no end. The demons that possessed you for years, will be now apart of you. And they will become stronger than any demons that ever existed. All this will happen as your mind breaks. You will suffer and will have nothing to fill the wholes that the demons dug. For now and for eternity, they will be even more bottomless than the great abyss." His words awakened a primal fear. That fear which I long fought against. I was afraid of what I could be capable of. Of how evil and vile I could be. Now. Those fears will be realize. This is even worse than to be thrown into the bottom abyss

I waited a few seconds to be thrown into the lake of fire. Yet the Lord spoke to me. One. Last. Time. "You will not be simply thrown. The hole to the lake is over there. About a hundred meters to your right. If you respected, feared me, and will give prayers full of blessings at my way as you say in your heart. You will walk to the edge. And jump" I nodded. With my head hung low. I walked directly to the lake. As he ordered. As I walk, I notice others going in opposite direction of me. This were all the ones who were to be saved. I saw many familiar faces, others who I didn't know one bit. They were all going to celebrate and feast. Because they followed the Lord. Rejecting the world. Their lives. I reached the edge that leads to the lake. I took a deep breath.

And dived into the deep.
