1 Chapter 1

Deep in space, far from Earth, far from another world and outside of the known universe was...nothing.

A black void that is ever expanding and ever mysterious of it's secrets. One that could house anything and maybe even life. In this case, it was about to witness the arrival of something dark and ancient. A portal of unknown origin opened and spat out a black organic liquid of sorts. It looked small, blacker than the darkest of Black Holes, and was slowly floating to nowhere in particular. The black liquid seemed as if it were nothing, holding no life to it, until a single question came to it like a thought.

'What is...this?' The liquid asked, confused at the sudden darkness that surrounds it. It's vision being that of morphing mists that do not take up shapes. It was use to viewing energy, and destroying it or sometimes absorbing it. Slowly, it began to familiarize itself with what had happened to it. It had been in the hands of it's master, Knull, slaying yet another Celestial in his war. Then after the Celestial's death, it had been taken from Knull's grasp by an invisible force. The next thing it knew it came to actually think without Knull's guidance. This was...troubling. The liquid was All Black, the Necro sword capable of cleaving through anyone and anything. It was technically speaking the first Klynntar in existence, the first of Knull's children. Yet here it floated in the void without Knull, and the light of the universe ever approaching slowly.

At that moment was when the sudden realization came to the All Black. It was thinking, it had a mind, did that mean that it had a soul? Why did it have a mind? Why could it think without Knull? Who gave it a soul? The questions continued to mount up to the point that it finally turned it's gaze towards the young universe. It could tell that the universe had just been born, there were no gods or goddesses of any kind that it could sense. In other words, it was the first intelligent being in the universe. But what universe was it iI?

The All Black looked down at it's liquid form and found it interesting. Could it too be capable of what it's master could do? To see if that thought was possible, it willed itself to have a body, one similar to Knull. Not too long after it felt it's body morph and embiggen. It grew to the size of a 7 foot tall man with long dark silver hair. It's eye sockets a crimson blood red, skin ash pale, and mouth inhumanly large. It was bare naked with no clothes or armor, only skin and no genitalia. The All Black gazed upon it's body, marveling at it. For it wasn't sure that it could take up any form, then again it should not be able to think on it's own. It was made to be used by only one master, and he was not here to command it.

Free will, a new concept that the All Black never knew was reveling in it. Without being told what to do, but only one question sprung to mind as to why that was the case.

'Who did this and why?' The Klynntar thought, then slowly touched it's pale lips. It decided to use it's mouth, to see if it was capable of speech. Before it could speak, it felt a presence approaching it. As if it were searching for the All Black, immediately the god killing weapon went alert. It's crimson eyes locking onto the location of where it sensed the presence until it was already on top of it. It turned out that it was a being made of stars, a male to be sure. The expression that the male made appeared to he curiosity, looking the All Black up and down. Then came the question that made the All Black have to question itself for that matter. "What are you?" Asked the being, it's voice echoy.

The All Black slowly tilted it's head and for a single moment it was tempted to slay the being before it. After all it could sense that a god had appeared before it. Not only was it a god, it was a primordial god, as far as it could discern anyway. The All Black gave the god a blank look before speaking it's first words. "I am...nothing." The All Black said, it's voice a chilling and dark tone. Sounding as if it were both death incarnate and without a gender to speak of.

The godling before it tilted his head confused, the stars that made up it's face contorted in such a way. "If you are nothing then why do you exist?" He questioned, not understanding the All Black's answer. The weapon itself thought upon that, not sure itself why it existed besides to kill. That was it's purpose, to kill, to destroy, to serve Knull. Now he was not here and it was alone with no purpose. Should it kill? Should it serve someone else? What was the All Black's purpose?

The All Black did not know what to say, for it had never once gained free will such as this before. It was in all honesty, at least in mind, a newborn babe capable of thought. Without no true answer, it spoke onve more towards the godling. "I have no purpose, therefore I am nothing." It uttered, the tone sounding as chilling and emotionless as before. The Godling slowly floated up to the All Black, seemingly unafraid of it then asked a question that made the gears in the weapon's head spin. "Then why not make your own purpose, become more than what you are now." The godling's words echoed within the All Black, as if the answer were so simple yet complicated. Could it become more than a weapon? Was it able to create life?

The All Black slowly turned towards the universe that had been approaching the two still. It was a still further away, having made little progress to reach the two. The All Black had no new purpose that could appear in it's mind, that said it did have one thought that came to it.

'If I am alone....then I shall make others.' It thought, then grabbed it's own arm and ripped it off. Black blood oozed out of it, yet there was no pain to be felt. The lost appendage was already reforming quickly and becoming a new arm for it. The limb that the All Black held in it's other hand began to morph as it thought on what it wanted to become. The arm became a human chest sized sphere, then began to grow larger. The Godling watching in amazement as it moved back upon viewing the All Black's creation. Despite the darkness of the void, he could see what the All Black had created. It was a Jupiter sized world, filled with organic like texture and crimson rivers. Trees appearing alive, no the entire world itself was alive.

At the center of the newly formed world, the All Black floated feeling the connection he felt. The elongated teeth and inhumanly shaped mouth came down to form a cold and emotionless expression. It wanted to feel joy but it felt nothing, it wanted to feel love for it's new home yet all it felt was nothing. Did the All Black truly have a soul? Or was it just an imitation of living beings? Those questions could only be answered in the years to come, for it did not wish to allow itself to fall under servitude.

The All Black had come to realize that it could think, and if it could think then it could do whatever it wanted. It may appear to look like it's former master, Knull, but it was obvious that it was far from being him. The armor that began to adorn him was similar to Knull's but had a ash gray palette to it. He still had the slender build, but held more regal and magnificence to itself. As it sprung from the black organic ground, it's crimson pupils landed on the Godling from before. They slowly came descending to the planet with a look of bewilderment. They had yet to create anything, to see it done so simply was quite the learning experience. "You had asked for what I was before", The All Black began to speak, "I was a nothing several moments ago, no purpose nor goal to speak of. You gave me the option to become something, and now I have become more than what I was before. Before I was only known as All Black, now I am Saigon.." With a tilt after speaking, the now named Saigon tilted it's head with curiosity sparking in it's eyes. "What is your name?"

The Godling blinked twice, before going to speak. They were about to name themselves before a red blade pierced through his chest. Their star like eyes widened in shock at the experience of pain. Golden blood oozed out of their chest wound as it began to descend onto their knees. The Godling looked back to see the owner of the blade that which pierced him, and found it to have belong to Saigon. Only one simply word etched in his mind. "W-why!?" He croaked, confused as to why Saigon would do this. The former weapon of Knull simply raised a brow before simply explaining to the godling.

"This world is in need of nourishment, that is something that I am incapable of delivering onto it", Saigon began to explain before removing their sword from the godling, "A god such as yourself would be the required nourishment in order for life to come to my planet. Fret not, I will remake you once the last of your essence is spread throughout this world." The Godling coughed up a puddle of their own blood, then felt the very ground beneath them sucking him inside. It pulled him down to all fours, slowly devouring him. "W-wait!" The godling pleaded, "I-i helped you gain a purpose, why must I be the one to become food for this world!?" To that question Saigon began to smile, it wasn't forced, it was a genuine toothy grin on par with Knull's.

"Because you are the only one nearby.." Saigon pointed out before turning his back to the godling. He could hear their cries of anguish and fear as they tried to remove themselves from the planet. Sadly, their efforts were in vain as they sank beneath the planet's organic ground.

Inside of the planet, the godling was being pierced through multiple times with black tendrils. They began to absorb the godly essence within the godling slowly. All he could do is remain there, aware of everything with his body withering away like a corpse. Meanwhile Saigon walked to the northpole of the planet that he has created. As he walked, he could feel his planet brim with life. The organic plants moved vigorously, and tilted downwards as if bowing to him. The crimson blade that was in his hands deformed and moved onto the chest plate of his armor. It became the symbol of Knull, as a way of remembrance towards his former master. A throne sprung a top a mountain, it was for him, the the All Black, for Saigon.

When Saigon arrived to the throne, he slowly turned and sat down upon it. Once seated he looked upon the organic looking landscape. He could see the first Klynntars beginning to form. Before, they were nothing but liquid like beings who required hosts. However, Saigon has now made it so that they did not require such things. They were living beings, they were beings who could morph into whatever shape they they so wished. The Klynntars originally needed hosts to nourish themselves, they had originally been incapable of independent thought the last time Saigon checked. Now, they could think, become more than mindless creatures, all under the direction of their new God, their new father...Saigon.

Saigon finally felt something that was unexpected, satisfaction. Satisfaction that he has done something that his former master would never think to do. Satisfaction in the fact that he could do what his master could do. Satisfaction that he could do more than kill. Now only a single question came to mind, oke that would prove to be a lifelong goal. "What should I do now?" Saigon questioned himself, pondering on that as if the Godling he had taken no longer existed. Well, essentially within a few millenia or more that would be the case. Then Saigon's gaze lifted to view at the ever expanding universe. It wsd steadily coming his way, and filled the void darkness that was in Klynntar's skies as if it were a distant nebula.

Saigon leaned his head back, resolute in what he was to do now. He was contempt with how things are now, the Light did not bother him as much as it did his master. He welcomed it, for it brought new challenges and new beings to seek out. Oh, he did not wish to become their friends, he merely wished to see what all was there. He now had a mind, a voice, and a new purpose. On this day, his purpose was decided the moment he had dispatched the Godling. His purpose was to survive, to thrive, to build, and eventually...destroy.
