40 Grand Horde

Tian Cai's startled face jolted. Carrots?

Focusing on the contents of the cart, indeed there were carrots. Eyes popping out of his head in dread, Tian Cai said, "Big Sister Ling, it's not like that.."

Suddenly, there was a loud crunch. Little Lord hurriedly chomped up the carrot in his mouth. Perhaps he knew, that it would be his last carrot for awhile.

Ling Fan pointed frantically. "You! You little shameless brat! Momma's going to cut you!!"

To the astonishment of everybody, Little Lord quickly hid behind Tian Cai.

"Son loves Dadda best."

Tian Cai rolled his eyes. Somehow, he felt this was a pit he wouldn't be crawling out from.

"Zhao Tian Cai, you dare protect our son!" exclaimed Ling Fan, whipping out her swords.

The servants stood stupefied. Lord Godkiller feared a six year old girl?

Whereas, a fanatical light filled the eyes of Alchemist Liu and the Wang Sisters.

Ling Fan was about to jump forward and give the mischievous bunny a spanking when Shensheng said, "Disciple, the last being that tried to beat Big Brother...well...he erased that person's universe."

Hearing her words, both Tian Cai and Ling Fan choked, with the latter freezing in her tracks. Chest huffing, Ling Fan's face repeatedly alternated between blue and black. Every little fiber in her wanted to spank the misbehaving runt.

Tian Cai on the other hand looked nervously between Little Lord and Ling Fan. He dared not risk moving.

Everyone's heart trembled as they shockingly heard Little Lord say words that increased their view of Ling Fan by multiple levels.

Tian Cai's face blackened in response. When had the little bugger ever apologized to him? Wasn't he the father?

Little Lord's words startled Ling Fan, however she recovered quickly. Putting away her swords, she said, "It's good that son knows he's in the wrong. Don't let Momma catch you again. However, three...Three more days of no carrots. If you don't learn now, who knows what kind of monster you'll grow into."

Without waiting for a response, she turned about and silently sighed in relief. In fact, her heart was palpitating like crazy. With these divine kings and queens, how many times already had they avoided the apocalypse?

Looking to the Wang Sisters, she said, "Let's go we can't keep Strongest Boss waiting."

Tian Cai peered down at the bunny hiding behind his legs, "Humph! Some almighty divine being you are. As soon as she raises her voice, you cave-in like a paper wall. You call yourself man? The Divine Pig grunted, "Little Genius, earlier you failed to answer Teacher's question. Your Masters, how soon can they be revived?"

Tian Cai was about to give Little Lord another earful when he heard Shensheng's words. He looked at her in shock. "Teacher, you-you need my Masters to save the Nine Chaos Heavens?"

Like an unfathomable expert, the Divine Pig turned to look far into the distance. Junjie shook in awe at his Queen's demeanor. Wasn't she mighty and noble beyond compare?

"Mhm...Little Genius, the future of the Nine Chaos Heavens is at risk. Teacher discovered that a Primordial Cockroach Race Queen descended long ago. Beneath Savant City are the remains of a battle were innumerable experts defended against the invasion. Their bones litter the area like an endless sea. Most likely, the Primordial Cockroach Race gained a foothold. Not only must we immediately investigate, we must prepare forces to destroy them."

Tian Cai scoffed, "Bugs can be such a threat?"

"Let this Queen pass along a memory."

Darkness filled Tian Cai's mind, Shensheng's voice began to tell a story.

"In a time, eons upon eons before there was even a spark of the life we know....even before the birth of the Multi-verse, the Primordial Cockroach Race existed. No one except perhaps the Prime Controller knows their origins. What we do know, is that they have an insatiable hunger to devour anything."

Stars twinkled into life, the colors of swirling nebulas exploding outward.

"As you can see, the Mult-verse is wonderous and life is continuously being spawned. The Nine Chaos Heavens is but a tiny tiny microcosm in comparison. Now witness the horror that is the Primordial Cockroach Race."

Like a disease, black holes rapidly devoured the numerous galaxies and nebulas until there was nothing.

Tian Cai gasped. "What-What was that?"

"That was the Primoridial Cockroach Grand Horde, once it is unleashed, all life ceases to exist."

"Impossible! How can there be such an enemy?"

"Indeed."

"Teacher is there nothing that can stop the horde?"

"That is a story for another day. What you need to know, the seeds that start spawning the horde have been planted here. If we cannot stop the infestation, Teacher will be forced to ascend and wipe out the Nine Chaos Heavens to prevent the calamity."

Tian Cai rubbed his glabella. The newfound information gave birth to a headache he knew would last all day. After several breaths, he calmed down and asked, "Teacher, how can my Masters help?"

"Aren't your Masters Grand Empyreans? Only that level of power can fight the Queen."

Eyebrows furrowing, Tian Cai said, "Teacher, you may not know but my younger brother Fei Hung has suffered an injury. He is the one you need to ask about reviving my Masters. Before, your student could inherit any knowledge from them, my Masters were forced into slumber. As an amalgamation of three soul wisps, he has the ability to search their memories. Thus, the answers you seek are with him."

Shensheng snorted, "Little Genius relax. Teacher will probe you to determine the depths of their injuries."

Tian Cai shook in disgust. "Have you no shame? Are you just looking for an excuse to hump my leg again?"

Junjie ears perked. What did he just hear?

Shensheng snorted, "Teacher was forced to be aggressive that time. You need only sit down in the lotus position and soon it will be over."

Tian Cai stepped back in disgust. You think I'll submit myself to your so called 'testing'? He was about to turnaround and run when Little Lord landed before Shensheng. His eyes glimmered as he passed information over.

"Ah so that's how it is. Sister understands now Big Brother," said Shensheng.

"What-What did he say?" asked Tian Cai. Inwardly, he thanked Little Lord for being filial and saving him from Teacher's testing. The memory of that day of infamy would remain with him forever. Suffering the consequences of his Teacher's Divine Defecater sent shivers down his back.*1

"Indeed we will need to revive your brother first. Big Brother says that his purpose is really to nourish your Masters by channeling your energy to their souls. The higher your cultivation, the more energy your brother can channel. In addition, the requirement to revive even one of your Master's is most likely Empyrean. This is because, the trauma caused by the regeneration may kill you."

"Kill me?" choked Tian Cai.

"Mhm. Within your blood is the essence of each of your masters. To start the regeneration process, they will absorb whatever power you have. Next, they will forcibly extract their essence from you. Finally, they will unbind their soul from yours. Visibilby you can imagine fruit and it's seed side-by-side. You are that fruit and they are that seed. At the end of the process, that fruit will look like dried prune. Whereas that seed will be a brand new fruit."

Tian Cai's eyes bugged out. OMFG!!

Shensheng sighed disappointingly. "Such a method is less than rudimentary. In order to revive each master, you will risk death three times. Not to mention, the side effects."

Tian Cai's face blackened.

Tian Cai huffed about for tens of several breaths. With a demeanor of a Divine being, Shensheng waited patiently. Finally, she asked, "Since you know that your brother was injured, how were you planning on healing him?"

Clearing his throat, he said, "The trip to Shadow Hell Forest is not only to keep my promise regarding Junjie. There is a monastery nearby whose monks specialize in soul healing arts. Thus, my plan was to heal my younger brother at the same time. In fact, tomorrow after Uncle Qiang's duels, we shall depart. Please bring Junjie along with Big Sis. Earlier, student gave Big Sis Ling VIP tickets to the event."

On the other side of the Zhao Clan, Ling Fan arrived at Zhao Clan's main hall. As she walked into the hall with the Wang Sisters, she heard Zhao Wen's stern voice.

"Scholar Jin, what did you just say? Did I just hear that Cai'er stripped naked with several dancers to perform the sun ritual. You actually allowed to him to do such a thing?"

Ling Fan snorted shaking her head. Wasn't Brother Zhao always causing trouble? Wang Chunhua immediately covered Wang Chuntao's ears. "You...You didn't here anything. Young Miss, us sisters will wait outside."

Swoosh! Quickly, she whisked her younger sister out of the main hall.

Loudly clearing her throat, Ling Fan said, "Strongest Boss, your loyal servant has arrived. May I ask what ruckus Brother Zhao is responsible for now?"

Scholar Jin's face blanched. An outsider actually overhead that? Gasping, he asked, "Matriarch, what-what do we do now?"
