22 CHAPTER TWENTY ONE - VERMONT

ARIANA'S POV

It was a quiet drive as Cole kept his attention on the road. observing the snow that was slowly trickling down.

"If we didn't make a bathroom stop then we would have been there already and you won't have to driver in bad weather" I said quietly, while I stared at Cole frowning, as he leans forward watching the weather.

Without taking his eyes of the road, "you should hop on back and pull some warm clothing out for us" Cole suggests instead.

Realizing it's what I should have already thought of, "okay" I said, unbuckling my seatbelt, taking off my shoe, because I have to climb on the seat to get over to the back seat.

"Leave it on" Cole chuckles

Obeying him, I tied my laces back, huffing, "you did warn me about a putting a speck of dust in your car." I couldn't help but remind him.

Laughing softly, that beautiful sound, that's music to my ear, "you're off the hook this one time" he continues to laugh.

Ignoring him, I reached across, climbing over into the back seat, opening a suitcase, pulling out a bag that, I had the sales man put aside for us.

I threw it over the front seat, climbing back over, off balancing,

"Hey, be careful" Cole says, putting a hand to hold me back from hitting the dashboard, while his eyes return to the road, where we can see cars ahead of us with lights on.

"I'm good"I say, as I settle into the seat. "Keep your eyes on the road" I tell him as I open the bag and start taking out, according to Cole, winter necessities, for the both of us.

He's going to love the scarf I choose for him and the ugly sweaters that I never had the privilege of owning before.

"Another hideous scarf" Cole commented. "Next time, I will take you shopping" he added.

I love the sound of us having shopping dates in the future. It means that finally I have my Prince charming.

Chuckling, "it's not mines" I look at his face.

Frowning, eyes widening, as he realize its not for me.

"You've got to be joking" he says in disbelief, clearly annoyed.

"Uh uh! It's yours. I got a deal on the two and as I'm not accustom to shopping on my own yet, I wanted us to match as a couple" I say in a pleading tone.

Without looking at me, I see the creases to the side if his eyes slowly disappeared.

"Okay, just this one time Arie, just this one time" he said softly.

Got yuh! I smiled, as I took out matching mittens, then chuckle as I hear Cole muttering incoherently, gripping the steering wheel with his two hands.

"BEST ROAD TRIP EVER" I scream as Cole simply shook his head keeping his eyes on the road.

After driving for about half and hour more, I started to see lights to my left and my right. We're in the town I assumed, but I didn't want to disturb Cole who was checking his GPS.

Buildings started appearing and disappearing as we drove by slowly. Inspite of the weather, people were hustling about. The whites all around looked as beautiful as Cole continues to drive leaving, the people and the buildings behind.

"Are we going to a remote house" I finally asked after nearly and hour if silence.

"I thought you fell asleep over there" Cole laughs, indicating that I'm sometimes I am a chatterbox.

I'm tired, so once again, I ignored him.

"I'm kidding Arie and it's not a remote area, it's just that there are fewer houses around." he says.

"Do you have any idea where we are?" he ask as if I'm a little girl.

"Vermont" I said.

"Ah you were not sleeping!" he chuckles, realizing I must have seen a sign.

Cole slowed down turning into a broad driveway, with Christmas lights on tall trees lighting the path ahead for us.

The sight was breathtaking, even with the snow falling.

"Are we going to get a chance to play in the snow?" I ask him.

"Yes and I'll also take you to see Santa Claus!" he said.

Shrugging that off, "oh I already saw Mr Kringle" I said.

Laughing out loud as we start slowing down in from a large historically design Victorian style house, covered in lights, with Santa on a sleigh with all the reindeers and elves beautifully displayed in the front yard.

Cole stopped in front of the entrance and turned to me, "you do know that he's not Santa Claus right?" he asks me.

"Oh yes he is" I say childishly, "he even said to enjoy our honeymoon" I tell Cole, as I opened the door and climb out of the vehicle leaving a baffled Cole staring at me.

As I started up the stair, a young man wearing a plaid shirt, a large lumberjack and a jeans, ran down the steps.

"Good evening miss, do you have a reservation or did the storm bring you to our doorsteps." he asks, with a welcoming smile.

Turning back to the BMW and a sulky looking Cole, who was approaching us.

"It was on my husband's GPS, so I believe he has a reservation" I say putting out a hand to Cole.

Grabbing my hand and pulling me close, "hi, I' Cole Simmons" Cole smilingly, introduces himself to the young guy, by reaching for a handshake. "And this is my wife, Ariana Simmons" Cole introduces me.

The man shook Cole's outstretched hands, but I simply nod with a smile as I clung to my husband hand.

"Yes Mr Simmons, we've been expecting you" he said, turning and signaling someone to join us.

"Your luggage" he said looking at the vehicle without introducing himself.

"Go head" Cole leans and whispers, following the two men who now stood waiting at the vehicle while I went up the stairs waiting at the entrance.
