62 Okinly Park

Draco closed the door behind him before he walked into the small dining area and looked first at Aurora, then at his mother. Draco gave his mother a peck on the cheek before walking to the fridge, trying to find anything to do to avoid the elephant in the room. All the while Aurora watched him, noticing how much his body had changed since she had seen him last. She watched his shoulders ripple with muscle as he opened the shabby fridge door, before leaning in to look inside.

Both Aurora and his mother were looking over at him when he looked over to ask his mom a question. He started to speak when he went to look at his mother, but when he noticed both their eyes on him he stopped talking and raised his eyebrow towards his mother, "What did I do?" His mother huffed, stood up, and walked over to him. She grabbed the eggs out of his hand while slapping him on the back of the head. Although he saw the slap coming before it had even got close to his head, he feared the wrath of what his mother would do if she didn't get this friendlier slap out of the way.

"Ow! What was that for?" Draco rubbed the back of his head while giving his mother puppy dog eyes. His mother scowled at him while she walked over to the cupboard, grabbed a frying pan, and set the egg carton in her hand down. "We have a guest over, you can have the decency to greet someone when you notice them." Draco looked over at Aurora, who noticed the muscle in his jaw tighten when he made eye contact. "It's nice to see you again, Aurora."

The way he said it was practically screaming. 'Why are you in my house' so loud that Aurora was taken back. The last she had seen him she had told him she had a present for him. Which was little more than a year ago. "Welcome back." was all she said as she put on a slight smile that seemed sincere enough. Her eyes then traveled above his head where they stayed to read his Title. The look of shock and disbelief on her face made the three in Draco's mind smile. "Congratulations on your higher rank, to achieve it so suddenly is remarkable."

Draco thanked her. His mother noticed something was weird between the two, however she decided that it was their life and she wasn't going to intrude on their personal matters. After 20 minutes of awkward silence, there was a full carton of eggs made and disrupted between the two, Draco receiving such a large portion that Aurora had a look of skepticism on her face before she quickly hid it behind a smile. "He must still be growing, eating all those eggs."

Draco's mother laughed before she started to explain about Brutis. However, Draco coughed before she could get to anything and slightly shook his head in her direction. Again his mother was confused but agreed. "He wants to keep his figure so he eats a lot of protein." was all his mother said. Draco finished his portion of the eggs, putting the rest of the eggs into his inventory. He then looked at his mother and told her he was going to head to bed early.

His mother reluctantly agreed and Draco walked into his room. Shutting the door, he called upon Brutis to come out of the wall. To which he started jumping up and down on Draco's bed. He fed Brutis the eggs before once again they laid down in the bed while Draco rubbed behind his ears. Draco couldn't help but think that taking it easy for a couple of days sounded pleasant. Draco stayed up thinking for a few more minutes before he fell asleep to the steady in and out of Brutis's breathing.

Outside Draco's room, Aurora had just left their front door and was walking to her car before she stopped. She looked around for signs of life before she whispered something and black smoke surrounded her before falling to the ground and bungee jumping back into the building, so fast that to anyone that saw it it would seem like it was being pulled. There were no traces of Aurora left as the smoke fell, almost like she had become the very smoke itself.

The Dark smoke continued to be pulled before stopping inside Draco's room. Again the shadow rose before dissipating to reveal Aurora standing there. She watched Draco and the huge dog on his lap sleep peacefully. In Draco's mind, the three noticed something had come into his room, however seeing as it didn't show signs of wanting to hurt him they simply waited and watched. As soon as the figure arrived it left once more, the three deciding to bring it up to Draco if he didn't find out first.

Draco awoke feeling good. He felt rested, his mana was full, and his health was also back to full. Draco got up, taking out a pair of cargo pants and a hoodie for himself to wear, he quickly put them on before he started walking out to the kitchen. There he found his mother currently making eggs and Brutis laying next to her feet, just watching her. "Traitor.''

Draco couldn't help but laugh. Brutis had been skeptical of his mother, that was until she brought out food for the first time. He fell in love almost instantly, while his mother practically treated him like a second son. Brutis stood up and ducked into a gate on the floor, before coming out beside Draco. He then sat next to him, leaning into his leg. "Oh well, I now know who is getting used in this relationship."

His mother put her hand over her heart in feigned heartbreak as she spoke. Brutis looked between the two as if being pulled by two immeasurable forces in opposite directions. Draco once more laughed as he spoke, "You can go to her." Instantly Brutis half ran, half walked over to his mother's side, who then proceeded to berate him with compliments while feeding him eggs.

After a bit, Draco started heading for the front door when his mother started talking. "The party is this afternoon at Okinly park. I expect you to be there at noon sharp. Seeing as you are the main attraction." Draco agreed to be there and started walking out of the apartment. Brutis, after eating the rest of the food his mother was offering, quickly followed and jumped into the floor behind him.
