1 Big Brother's Birthday (1)

Li Xiu Ying was at her office working when her assistant came.

ZYY: "Ms Li, your father called." LXY: "thank you, i'll go answer the phone."

The assistant, Zhang Yu Yan, bowed then left.

"Ungrateful child, you finally have time to answer your father's call!" Li Wei shouted.

"I'm sorry dad, after I took over the company, I've been busy improving and expanding the company more." Li Xiu Ying calmly explained.

"Whatever, anyways child, your brother (Li Yu) is having his birthday banquet in Hilton Hotel's ballroom [as usual] next week. He wants you to come and he also requests that you don't bring a date. Sheesh, such an overly protective brother he is." Wei complained. Inwardly he is cursing his eldest child as he wants to at least see his youngest child get married before he gets to old. "Haha, alright dad, tell Yu i'm coming." Ying said.

"Alright child, but remember to take a break too, I did not hand over the company to you just so you turn into a workaholic." Wei firmly said.

"Mhm, okay dad. Bye." Li Wei then hung up.

Ying was thinking of what to get for her brother. She was stuck between a gold and diamond encrusted watch, gold cuff links or silver silk tie. In the end,she chose all three since he was turning 28 and got a girlfriend earlier this year. Since she was one of the top 10 business women in the world and top business woman in China, money was not a problem so she bought all 3.

- A week later, at her brother's birthday banquet -

Ying and Yu were together along with her brother's girlfriend/her best friend, Feng Mian.

"Happy birthday gege!" Ying said when they met up 20 minutes before the party started.

"Thank you mei mei, you didn't bring a date right?" Yu asked seriously.

"Haha, no gege, it's your birthday after all so I didn't, if I did you would've scared the poor boy away since you think no ones good enough for me" Ying laughed while talking to her brother.

"That's because it's true, right love?" Yu said while asking his lover, Mian. "Your brothers right bestie, especially after what happened before with your ex" Main said to her.

Ying just scowled as she hates her ex, but recovers and asks her brother, "you guys ready to go?" "Yup, me and Mian will go in first to greet the guest and you can go around and talk business or greet some family friends and relatives, but don't get too close to guys" Yu stated. "Of course gege, anyways happy birthday again. I'll get going and at the same time I can get away from this PDA*" Ying said while giggling like a child contrasting her usual business like composure.

- 20 minutes later -

Yu and Mian are greeting the guests, who include big time CEO's, A-list celebrities, ect. They want to mingle around to accomplish 3 things, one get onto the Li family's good side, two to gain more status and three to try and get to work with Yu's company Starlight Entertainment and/or Ying's company Li Enterprise. Or sometimes it was just the Li family's close friends who were big time people.

During the party, Ying bumped into Wang Yang, the handsome yet cold and aloof businessman who was on par and even surpassing Ying in the business world and who happened to be a family friend.

"Sorry Mr. Wang for bumping into you." Ying stated formally because even though they were childhood friends and sort of lovers, the years away in college and working in their companies made them more distance and memories were fading.

Wang Yang replied. " Its okay Ms. Li but let's stop being so formal as we were friends before [and technically still are] and your brother is my best friend as well as we are business partners." Yang stated as he still can sometimes recall their memories together before they left for college.

"OK Yang, but let's not try to be too close like before for now or else Yu will strangle you and scolded me for being too close. Out of all the people, you should understand his protectiveness since you acted just like him when it comes to your own sister."

"Of course Xiao Ying, but how about let's talk about the new business deal?" Yang said, remembering the nickname that he used to call Ying with. Deep down, they both like each other but could not be with each other for some reasons.

"Sure" came the reply from Ying turning into business mode. What the pair hadn't noticed was for Ying, the looks men gave to her and for Yang, the looks women gave him. Not to mention that everyone thought they were a match made in heaven excluding their thoughts about Ying and Yang themselves as others were envious yet in awe about how the pair looked with each other. Ying looked alluring, elegant and overall beautiful with her hourglass figure while Yang had his custom tailored suit showing his muscle which fit with his lean and fit body with the aura of a king with his elegant looks.

They looked perfect together but all Zhao Feng, an A-list actor and Ying's ex, staring at Yang with envy and hatred because he was so close to his ex even though he was the one who cheated and even later broke up with Xiu Ying. He looked at Ying with lust as she never really showed her body to him. Yu on the other hand was staring at the two (Ying and Yang) unhappily since she was so close to Yang even though he knew his best friend had no bad intentions towards his little sister.

After a while, the host, Li Wei, stated that the dances were starting and couples who want to dance (ahem, Yu and Mian obviously first starting) to go to the dance floor.

Yang knew after talking with his Xiao Ying after a while he knew that his love for Ying was still there even after all the years separated.

So he asked her "Ying, would you like to dance with me?"

But Ying was oblivious to the fact that he started being more gentle towards her, agreed since she sees him as a close friend from her childhood.

The couple went to the dance floor and started dancing as people made way for them and watched them in awe.
