2 Chapter 2: The next day

"Wake up.", Peter heard on his mind. "We need to talk.", he was confused and remembered yesterday and his familiar.

"Okay, I'm up talk."

"Honey, who you talking to?", June yelled from the kitchen.

"I'm home?"

"That's why we need to talk, master.", the little snake was entangled on his arm.

"Are you okay, Pete?", his mom entered the room. "You need to pack up. The carriage will pass close to midday."

"I know, mom. I'll do it already.", Peter was screaming inside his head. "What is happening?", he whipered to the snake.

"I'm powerless now. So yesterday I used all my power to turn back one day."

"Why?"

"Because I need you to have another familiar. Without another familiars I'm powerless."

"But we can do it as a normal wizard.", the boy said.

"Would take too long for me."

"Ok. Ok.", The boy angrily started his day. Again.

The day was similar in every aspect possible except the train where he chose to share with an outcast and a homeless.

"Peter Sivler.", the man called him. He walked toward him and started again doing the cerimony.

While this on his head the snake talking to him. "What do you think about a dragon?"

"No."

"A sheep?"

"No."

"A bird?"

"No... wait, you can chose?"

"I'm trying but you are too indecise."

"Give me a..."

"Too late."

An egg appeard on the magic circle. Man and boy were astonished by it.

"Take care of it. I know a beatiful familiar will be born from it.", the older said.

"Thank you, sir.", he said and went telephatic with his snake. "Why didn't you tell me about the selection?"

"You didn't ask.", the boy angered more. "But now we have a reliable friend and I'm not as powerless as before."

"How so?"

"My power is based on the wizards connections with familiars. Greater the connection or greater the number of connections my power increases accordingly."

"I forgot something important before. What is your name?"

"Ophiuchus, master."

"Mas...ter...", a voice came from the egg.

"Which choice you make?"

"None. I left this on the luck."

"Lu...ck..."

"It's learning so fast.", the snake was proud of its sibling.

"You locked on luck? Good."

"...lo...ck..."

"I'm sorry this is your older brother mistake not yours.", he talked to the egg.

"Luock."

"Luke will be your name from this moment foward.", Peter said as he gentle petted the egg.

"Luck... lock... Luke..."

"The last, little one.", Ophichus said.

"Changing topic. Do you intend to not reverse time?", the boy was serious.

"I don't have power to do it and my little sibling wouldn't come with us."

"So now on we will do the old fashion style."

"Yes. But I know where to start."

"What you talking about? I'll have classes now."

"What?"

The next day began finally. Peter put his uniform on. Took his egg and gently put down on his pocket. Ophichus was most of the time entangled on his right hand even sleeping.

"Good morning, master."

"I thought you would sleep all day."

"I wake up only to tell that I did my job and your next familiar in on the way. Bye."

"Hey, hey, hey.", he pulled the snake by its head. "EXPLAIN."

"You see. You told me that we weren't leaving here for at least one month. So I used a little of magic to call one friend of mine to be your familiar."

"Friend of yours? Who is your friend, OPHICHUS?"

"Well, he is more of a colleague but he was nearby and I invited here."

"So there was anothers not so nearby?"

"Oops."

"...ops..."

"Leave my arm."

"Master..."

"Leave.", the little snake was holded on air by its master hand. "You will pass the day on the room alone thinking about your doings. Also tell your friend to not come anymore."

"But master..."

"No buts. I told you that the School was my main focus and you knowing that took actions without my consent. Did you undertand me, boy?", the snake shaked its head agreeing. "Good. Tonight we would return to this matter."

Peter left his room and entered the hallway of the dorm. It was full of wizards and their familiars. Cats, dogs, insects, all kind of types of familiars. He even saw one a dragon hatchling. Some familiar were so intelligent that could talk normally as people. Dragons and feys were some examples.

"Lost?", a girl asked Peter.

"No. Charmed.", he replied seeing again that view.

"It becomes normal. I'm Margarett."

"I'm Peter.", they shaked hands.

"I'm a second year and fortunelly...", she checked a page on her arm. "...you are on my list of rookies. Wait for me outside of the dorm while I take the rest. There are two of them there already."

"Oh, ok.", he left but for no reason he turned back to see her.

She was a little shorter than him, black curly hair, long till her waist. Black eyes and uniform on perfect state. But on the tips of her hair swinging were a black winged fey that saw the boy turning and as their eyes matched she show her tongue to him.

"Was that... her familiar?"

Peter was now outside. The view from before now added a lot of flying creatures and some of them carrying its master on the back. A couple of pairs were outside, probably from another seniors and that led the boy to not approach any.

Margarett left the building with another two new students and took Peter by the arm. "Lots of pair, huh." She formed a group and started talking. "This group number is sixteen and is formed by Alexander, Peter and Tobias as well by Ellen, Rachel and Teresa. From this moment till the last day of the year you may work as a team and will be evaluated as one. Any doubts?"

"So if one is expelled, all of us go together?"

"Good reflection. And yes. Any question left?", no one spoke. "Good. Lets begin the campus tour."

The campus could be simple described as three main facilities. The main building were the classes happened. The library location to found books and study sessions. The arena, one great colosseum with multiple battlefields for sparring.

"Today is self study. So you can interact with each other to better know yourselves.", as she finished she left.

Peter and Ellen were the ones to stay. The rest left with the same excuse. "I have better things to do."

She was shorter than him. Long blonde hair and green eyes. The uniform was like from someone else but not because of the size and because of the aura the girl gave out.

"Peter."

"Ellen."

"Can I ask you one thing?"

"Sure, feel free."

"Why did you kill your familiar?", he said that because Ellen was the girl on the cabin door.

"I... I... I..."

"It's okay if you don't want to respond."

"How do you know?"

"Familiars tend to be very close of their masters but recently with the Reborn project there was news about familiars that don't obey and don't like their master. They act like a betrayed people."

"What this has to do with it?"

"Familiars don't like to leave their master side but I don't see yours."

Peter saw twice. Ellen's familiar was a beatiful gold dragon hatchling but after it left the magic circle didn't see to enjoy its master presence.

"My family forced.", she said.

"Wow. You gonna blame them? I did a little research myself. The Reborn project need a sample of the next form as well the only one that can make it happen is its master."

"You don't understand. Felix was beatiful but with as he was we were about to be expelled from the family. So my mother forced me to do it."

"Was? I don't know how you think but that gold dragon is wonderful."

"He was a butterfly before."

"Don't even start. I have things to do. But so do you."

"What?"

"I won't let you sink this group. You will ask for forgiveness from Felix and let him decide what he wants to do from here onwards."

"But..."

"No buts. He is your familiar and you will trust him blindly. So as I have to too.", he ran to the dorm leaving her alone.

"Master?"

"We are going get your brother to a stroll, Luke.", the egg shaked as its was happy.

He rushed the hallway and opened the door. On the bed was Ophichus but on the window was a black crow looking into the boy's eyes as was looking into his soul instead.

"So, is this your master, Ophichus?", the crow spoke.
