13 Chapter 13: Money - Part 2

"Here is a Lightning Wolf.", she presented the next familiar.

"There is someone here?", the wolf said.

"You're blind?", Peter asked and the attendant became freezed as she didn't mentioned.

"Yes. Who are you?"

"I'm Peter a familiar trainer."

"I'm Emma, kid, but why look for an old hag like myself?"

"You're good and calm now that I see that I want you even more. Are you really okay with waiting for death here?"

"I'm useless out of here. A blind familiar isn't worth a wizard's life, kid."

"And if I could treat you and give you another chance?"

"Another chance?"

"Yes. You sound like regretting over something while lied in there. I don't want you to die in vain. I want to give you another life to take care and this time you'll not fail."

"You have time, kid."

"Yes."

"My master was killed and I survived. His beloved blinded me and throw me at a corner till someone caught and sold me here. You'll trust on someone who fail her only task."

"I'll trust as your master did. You're judged by people who didn't know you as him. So it was normal for them to blame you on his death."

"So I shall call you young master."

"Put her on the list too."

"How do you talk to them so freely?", Ellen was astonished. Not only her familiar but even ones they didn't know.

"Don't know."

"Mister Relius can you make him stop lying?"

"I wish I could but it's better to stay this way, kid."

"Follow me.", the attendant noted that he didn't mention any of those things that were offered to the previous wolf. "Here is the last wolf. It's a Season Wolf."

"You are no good, friend.", Peter said and approached the cage.

"I know.", the wolf answered.

"How is your body?"

"Don't respond at least two days now."

"When you were brought here."

"Some months."

"It's Fall and they cutted your Spring horns setencing your death."

"Tragic but that's life."

"Want to live?"

"As if I had a choice."

"You are a funny guy."

"Thanks but I think your money is better spent on other familiar."

"If you could chose you would live?"

"Of course and would hunt that bastards that cutted my horns."

"I'm giving you a little hope. I don't know if I can save you for sure but I can try."

"You are willing to buy a dead body just to try? I take it. Take me with you. This is better than waiting death in this cage. I'm Ulisses by the way."

"Nice. Put him too."

"This case is severe, son. Are you sure about it?"

"He is coming even if he dies on the way.", Peter said it to his father.

"Here is the last of the list, a Winged Cat."

"Master, it isn't a cat.", Ophichus said it on his mind.

"Hey.", Peter knocked a little on the cage.

"Hello.", the feline said.

"Want to come with me?"

"I have four legs at dawn. Two at midday and three at dusk. What am I?"

"An aging man.", Peter replied.

"Correct. The man who made me do not need me. The man who bought me do not use me. And the man who use it me never saw me. What am I?"

"A coffin."

"Correct. I am blind, deaf and mute but only tell the truth. What am I?"

"A mirror."

"What is he talking?", Ellen asked the older man.

"Making progress.", he responded.

"Correct. I lie when I am up and I am up when I lie. What am I?

"The feet."

"Correct. Correct. Correct."

"Put her on the list and tell me the price."

"Three wolves and the winged cat will be two thousand credits."

"Give me a ten percent. I'll come back another times.", he said to her.

"My comission, sir."

"Father, where did you saw other bear of those?"

"It was nearby. Two blocks from here I think."

"Okay, sir. We'll give you the discount.", she fell for the bluff.

"Twelve thousand and half credits."

"Here it is.", Peter passed his father five hundred credits.

"You penny-pincher.", he had already transferred the amount when his son asked the bear and didn't expect this turnaround.

"You really bought five familiar in one go.", the girl was on disbelieve.

"I need do it while I can.", he said that because of the preparation he needed to do with all the new familiars. "I would take the bear and the winged cat with me. The rest I need them to be delivered in two hours in this place.", he placed a paper with his dorm address and room.

"This time is impossible, sir.", she said it.

"If any of my familiars dies within your store I'll sue it.", he glared at her as a maniac.

"We'll do our best.", she returned.

"I'm going to the company tell all the advances and about your situation.", Relius said.

"Okay. We talk later then.", his son replied.

"Here.", the man passed a card to him. "This is a hologram call card. Used it well. See you. Bye girl.", the man left.

"Here are both of them.", a mand brought both the bear and the cat and put them on the balcon.

"Thank you.", the boy said it and unlocked both cages.

The little Winged Cat started to fly around Peter as a child happy to see its parent. While the bear was in looking at Peter with a surprise.

"I told you would come with me, didn't I?"

"Yes, sir.", the bear hugged the boy on his chest.

"They are so small and cute.", Ellen said without knowing both of the familiars background.

Both cubs would value thirty to forty thousand credits each and they were sold together for less than the half of that value.

The winged cat was not a cat from the beginning. The truth was that it was a child Sphinx. This creature were so rare and powerful when older that even dragon would fear.

The bear looked like a black furred one. But was a Void Bear in terms of strength it was near of the young dragon already. On mature age it would be powerful as a Dragon.

"You'll be Theodore.", he raised the bear to his shoulder. "And you... will be Lucy.", the cat landed on the other shoulder.

"Only if I had courage to buy them as you.", the girl sighed.

"You don't need them as I need right now and within a couple months Felix would be considered a young dragon already."

"How many familiars are with you after this bought?", as she asked he started counting and excluding two.

"Luke, Rhynus, Fridda, Urias, Ariel, Maeve, Emma, Ulisses, Theodore and Lucy. Ten.", he was counting on his fingers as naming them. Plus Ophichus and Odin the were twelve on total.

"You reached ten. Most of wizards don't pass the five familiars."

"Yeah. I know but I won't force anyone to fight."

"You'll use Luke's power to resolve their problems?", she talked about the wounds on the wolfs.

"And probably finishing burn my circuits too."

"Why? Why are you like this?", she was visible angry at him.

"I have little time before they burn on thei own. So I intend to use it in a good way."

"But your father said a way to heal them."

"Yes but they need to be burnt and he talked about having a greater flow diminished."

"So you'll try expand the circuits and after that healing them? This is insane. You'll collapse from the pain.", she was right.

"I won't collapse from the pain.", he smiled. "Fridda's power can be used as sense nullifier."

"You intend to die then. Your body won't support so much stress.", she was trying to back off him of this act.

"Forget it. I'm doing it anyway.", he had a good shot with Fridda's and Luke's power working together.

"You're going to use it Rewind once more, don't you, master?", Ophichus said on his mind.

"You were awfully quiet for the time being and now wished to speak. Don't beat around the bush, friend.", he replied.

"Only curiosity, master. Nothing more.", the snake finished his statement.

They went to the arena and there was only one place where Felix and Rhynus were battling. The most crowded place.

"Take the child. It is wanting you for a while now.", Fridda was holding the egg with one of its three tails.

"Come here, Ariel."

"Master.", Urias went and started floating near the boy.

"Two new kids?", the fox said looking into the bear and the cat.

"Three will be delivered on the room. So I'll tell Rhynus about coming back and head there.", he was walking when he alerted. "I'll need your help. For each I'll count a year off the contract.", she smiled hearing this.

"I'll be glad to help."

The beetle was a little scratched but that was it. The dragon was really worn out and out of breath.

"Rhynus. I returned and I'm going to my room."

"Just a moment, my liege.", the Guard replied without losing focus on his opponent.

Felix advanced flying near the floor on extreme speed but was countered. Two punches landed. Left and right. The dragon stopped on the air for a moment. A thin tree bark showed on Rhynus left and a punch was delivered making a explosion on impact. The dragon lose conscious.

"We shall go, my liege.", the beetle said.

"Sorry, Ellen.", Peter took his leave.
