11 Lightning mode

Lei smiled widely as Meliodas stretched in front of him "Do you really want to do this?"

"Yup, so show me all you got" Meliodas said lightly. Ever since he's seen what Lei could do, he felt curious on how strong he actually was.

Lei only smiled. He hasn't fought in a while so he stretched himself as Hawk and Elizabeth cheered for both on the back.

Meliodas finished his last set of stretches "You ready?"

Lei took a breath out and nodded. Meliodas didn't wait another second and closed in on Lei with a dash. He aimed a punch towards Lei's face but Lei shifted his body to the right and sent a chakra powered knee to Meliodas' side. He dodged the blow with a sudden jump and used Lei's outstretched legs to send his own knee towards his face.

Meliodas was taken aback. As soon as his knee landed, there was a poof of smoke and strangely, he felt that what he hit wasn't that of flesh but- wood?

Lei stood on top of a tree with a breath of relief. What he found the scariest in this world was that people here had higher destructive abilities than people from Naruto. While Lei could take on a punch, it would take a decent amount of HP even with chakra so he had to avoid getting hit as much as possible. He luckily managed to avoid that one with a substitution jutsu.

Lei focused back on Meliodas. He used the tree and sent himself flying towards Meliodas. He managed to dodge at the last second and sent a light punch as distraction before weaving out. They went back and fourth, leaving the ground and trees destroyed. Lei managed to get a few hits in but they weren't that critical. As for Meliodas, although he wasn't as fast as Lei, his movements were unpredictable and often hard to react to.

Seeing that this wasn't going anywhere, Lei took a breath in and smiled "This is perfect"

For the past days, Lei hasn't just completely been messing around. He's also kept up with his training because he knew; there are scary people out there. So besides Fuinjutsu, he focused on a technique inspired by the Raikage's cloak of lightning. For simplicity's sake he named it Lightning mode.

This technique required fine chakra control and sufficient knowledge of the human body in order to stimulate the nervous system, thus increasing speed and reaction speed for a period of time. Lei had more than enough chakra reserve and control to perform this but what he lacked was a body strong enough to handle the strain.

With the recent training he's done, he's managed to reach the minimum physical prowess to activate stage one of this technique:

"Lightning Enhancement!" Upon Lei's words came a chaos of electricity. Each spark ran through his body and seem to bring an invisible pressure to his surrounding.

Lei immediately felt the toll this brought to his body. He vaguely felt that five minutes was his limit. Meliodas seem to sense his increase in power and opened his mouth in slight awe.

Not hesitating any longer, Lei pushed his leg against the ground and was sent himself flying towards Meliodas with a blur.

Lei managed to control himself and time his strike with the help of his enhanced reaction time. Meliodas could only try to jump back as the only things he saw were the paths of lighting that followed behind Lei. Meliodas actually dodged and parried a few strikes despite his eyes unable to follow Lei's movements. Although his power was sealed, his battle experience wasn't something to scoff at.

Despite this, it didn't take long before he was taken down with a flurry of strike, leaving him on the ground with a small crater under him.

Lei took a few breaths and wiped his sweat "You okay? Meliodas senpai~"

"Tch, tch, tch... now that actually hurt" Meliodas got up with a few bruises. They're injuries were kept to a minimal as both held back. If they had gotten serious, they would have taken out their blades and the surrounding would be much worse.

They soon got patched up by Elizabeth who was worried despite Meliodas telling her it was nothing. They didn't spar after that as it caused unnecessary damage to the environment so days passed once more with Lei being a bar person in the day and training when he was free.

After a few days of travelling, the bar settled in another village. Upon arrival the bar seemed to have a lack in customers so Meliodas went and checked out on the situation of the village along with Elizabeth.

They found that a Holy Knight passed through this village and disrupted its flow of water with a sword when a kid upset him. Only a person as strong as a holy knight could remove it so the villager's been facing a dilemma.

Meliodas handled it pretty easily considering he was as strong and can be stronger than a Holy Knight. In fact they pretty much become cannon fodders later on in the series.

Anyway, thanks to Meliodas undoing the blockage, the village was celebrating inside the bar late at night. There was way more than usual so Lei had his handful.

While he handed out a cups after cups of booze, Lei sensed an interference of energy travelling fast towards their location. As a ninja, Lei found the skill of a sensor type valuable so with his talent in chakra, he learned chakra detection.

He could only sense an individual's energy in a fifty kilometer radius at most but he could detect heavy interference like the one rapidly approaching at longer ranges easily.

Meliodas and Lei turned to each other. Meliodas signaled him to stay and went outside casually.

Lei continued serving drinks after seeing this. He wasn't worried as in the original, Meliodas also handled this himself and even sent the attack back to the enemy... Gilthunder.

He honestly couldn't remember every detail but he knew that Gilthunder was a good person and was familiar with Meliodas. He should be in control of a mage that was a former apprentice of Merlin, one of the seven sins.

Moments later, a loud crash was was heard outside. Everyone came outside with worry and found Elizabeth looking down below the hill anxiously.

A straight path seemed to have been formed forcefully, as if someone bulldozed through it. Lei walked up and saw Meliodas stopping a spear which dragged him back, destroying a few blocks and houses in the process.

Then as he gradually brang it to a stop, Meliodas gazed at the night sky seriously and threw it back at the same angle it was launched from.

"Nice..." Lei would have to activate Absolute Accuracy to replicate what he just did there. It was crazy.

Lei joined in on the repairs the next day. It wasn't hard to fix most the damages with his simple earth jutsu so he was a large help.

They left after that as their location was once again known by the kingdom. It was more urgent this time as the one chasing them was Gilthunder so Elizabeth proposed hiding in the Forest of White Dreams. It was said that even Holy Knights didn't willingly enter this forest.

With that, Lei focused back on his training. His body was at the minimum required to activate the first stage of his Lightning mode so he pushed his limits and tried to keep increasing the sealing weights.

His stats currently looked like this:

[Abilities:]

- [Universal Energy: Can intigrate all energy; Chakra, Ki, Reiatsu, etc into one system]

- [Absolute Accuracy: Accuracy of any action becomes absolute in ten minutes. 50m cooldown]

- [Weapon Mastery: +500 affinity to all weapons. Basic handling of any weapon in user's hand is integrated into mind and body.]

[Skills:]

- [Pickpocketing: Proficiency in stealing another's possesion without getting caught. Lvl 5/ Lvl 10]

- [Chakra Control: Efficiency in manipulating chakra. Lvl 10/ Lvl 10]

- [Chakra Enhancement: Gathers chakra into the body to increase ATK, AGI and END. Lvl 10/ Lvl 10]

- [ID Create: Allows the user to create a replicate dimension out of 10 floors. Time is 1:1. Lvl 5/ Lvl 10]

- [Fuinjutsu: The user is able to seal objects, living beings, chakra and other things within an object. Lvl 7/ Lvl 10]

- [Weapon Handling: The user is able to handle all sorts of weapons proficiently]

- [Lightning release: The ability to manipulate lightning with chakra. Lvl 7/ Lvl 10]

- [Awareness: A simple skill that lets the user feel if he is being watched discreetly]

His stats improved by fifteen in each which had a massive effect on his HP and Energy. Right now, his chakra was probably comparable to one of the lower tailed Jinchurikis. He's also garnered a lot of shop points after successfully defeating Meliodas in a spar and frequently visiting his ID Create so he could probably get another decent ability but he'd save it for now as he was working on other things.

As for skills, there weren't much difference except for Fuinjutsu and Lightning release leveling up two times. His level in Fuinjutsu was still too low to teleport to Naruto, he could feel his Hiraishin mark but every time he tried to teleport to the marker, his chakra seems to get sucked in a void and drain it dry. He guessed that he could either increase his proficiency in Fuinjutsu, increase his already monstrous chakra reserves or both.

Lightning release was something he hasn't quite used much despite developing many techniques for it. His stage on in Lightning mode actually not only increased his physical prowess but the power of lightning release jutsus. With his chakra, there was no problem in maintaining the mode and casting jutsus at the same time. He just hasn't found an opponent strong enough to use it on.

Not to mention his weapon handling... he really has been fighting at the minimum these days. Well, events seem to be speeding up lately so he had a feeling that he wouldn't wait for long.
