37 Destruction in Konoha

Lei rushed through the forest as fast as he could. He didn't know how much time had passed here when he was gone so he wasn't quite sure of what was going on, however it was obvious that Naruto was in some trouble from the chakra he had just felt.

While not completely out of control just yet, he could feel a dense and heavy chakra building inside him. As if a small dam was holding against the entire ocean itself.

Although Lei could just teleport to the special kunai he had given Naruto, he wouldn't have enough chakra to go against whoever their enemy is after.

In retrospect, he should have made sure everything would work, maybe even be a little patient. Afterall, his Fuinjutsu wasn't even at level ten yet.

He got a little bit too excited. After all, he thought that he would need to get to the next level before he could travel through universes. It came as a pleasant surprise that he could shave a few weeks of studying at that time.

Still though... by far, Fuinjutsu has been the hardest skill to level. It made him wonder what kind of thing he could do at level ten...

Moving on from his musings, Lei shook his head and focused back to travelling.

The one thing he had definitely noticed was the lack of chakra signatures around him. It would make sense at first as not many people would be staying around so deep in the forest but... this was the Konoha borders! Shinobis need to be patrolling this place constantly...

"There's definitely something wrong" With his body alone, Lei hopped from tree to tree at a faster rate.

While not being able to use Hiraishin was inconvenient, the distance to Konoha wasn't that far so he should reach the Konoha in a few minutes at his current speed.

However, this wasn't fast enough. Lei felt Naruto's dam cracking by the minute.

So without hesitation, Lei reached into his storage and took out a couple of Fuinjutsu formulas. These were supposed to be for life and death scenarios as he had only recently started making them but... who knew what may happen if he were late to arrive.

With a bright flare, an abundant of chakra rushed from the formula to Lei's chakra system. If a shinobi were here, sensor or not, they would no doubt notice the sudden increase of chakra around the area.

"It's not perfect but... It will do" Lei felt his heart ache at the leak in chakra but decided to move on.

He could already see the outline of the village so he held of in using Hiraishin and increased his speed with a little bit of chakra.

Lei's eyes turned serious once he got closer to the village. He held into his kunai tightly and took in the sight in front.

The village spanning as wide as a couple of mountains laid in ruins. The countless houses and areas reduced to a crumbling mess of wood and bricks, as if a couple or hurricanes had been released into the village.

Lei took a breath and pushed his apprehension to the back of his mind. He headed towards Naruto's chakra. On the way there, he could tell there were a lot of casualties just from what he could see alone.

He helped those in danger as much as he could and let the little left of the Genins and Chuunins around do the rest.

While doing this, Lei came across a particular Anbu patrolling around who stared at him in recognition. The Anbu seemed to think to himself for a brief second before focusing back in the crisis at hand after giving him a nod.

Moving on, Lei maneuvered over the crumble of buildings. But just as he was picking up his speed, a figure quickly shot towards him. Lei's eyes widened before catching the figure and easing the impact by planting his legs to the ground as hard as he could.

The two came crashing towards the nearby building, destroying it's once solid foundation and bringing the rest down with it.

The area remained silence over the constant explosions in the background before a couple of rocks shot out of the former building. Lei grit his teeth and took himself along with figure out of the rubble.

He glanced at the figure that came flying at him while scanning the area vigilantly. He had been a little too focused on the two strongest chakra...

"Kakashi...?" Lei immediately recognized the iconic white hair and mask.

The figure, Kakashi glanced at him weakly "You're... Lei?"

"That's me! How did you know?" Lei took out a spare storage of chakra and asked. Lei hadn't really come across Kakashi often.

Kakashi stared at the formula papers questioningly but took it upon Lei's insistence. "Naruto talked about you at times, not to mention you're a missing nin..."

As Kakashi talked, he felt the rush of chakra come towards him followed with comfortable wave of coolness. He sank into that feeling before focusing his eyes afar.

"Never mind that... I need to hurry back into the fight!" Kakashi's legs wobbled from exhaustion yet he forced chakra to empower his body for a little longer.

Lei followed his eyes and saw stones flying away from a distance. The impacts of whoever was fighting caused the area around them destruction.

He stared back at Kakashi who prepared to take off "I'll be coming as well"

Kakashi paused. Lei had been an Anbu before he disappeared... he didn't know whether or not he's gotten stronger but he was also a Jounin at the time so... "Be careful"

Lei nodded and the two ran towards the center as fast as they could.
