25 Seven Mysteries Part 6

Despite Kazuma facing this enemy for the first time, Kazuma felt nothing but excitement. It was like he was meant to fight against the enemy before him even though this was clearly a supernatural phenomenon.

"I don't know what you are and although you are a Qlipoth product, you look like a vengeful ghost. Might as well call you a Specter," Kazuma covered his hands with flames as he waited to see the next course of action the enemy before him would take.

The specter snarled and disappeared before reappearing before him and attacking with its sharp claws. Kazuma swiped his hands into the air and a wall made of flames appeared and shielded him from the attack damaging the specter after colliding with his wall of flames.

Seeing how she was hurt by the wall of flames, she growled like a beast and disappeared. Kazuma readies himself while keeping his guard up. One wrong move and he might be killed in the process, especially since the enemy is an ethereal monstrosity, capable of phasing in and out of reality.

Without failure, the specter reappeared beneath the shadow of Kazuma. Kazuma who is already on guard immediately dodges but fails to immediately read her next move. Her first attack was a feint and the second one was the real one.

SWISH!

Kazuma still managed to dodge it but he didn't fully dodge the attack. The claw strike hit his sleeves and his left arm was injured and his left sleeve was torn.

Seeing Kazuma getting injured, the Specter grinned and released a burst of maniacal laughter. But Kazuma is not happy about that and immediately fired off a blast of fire to her mouth.

"That should teach you to shut up."

The attack that Kazuma did effectively burned down her long hair covering the rest of her face, revealing her ghastly face and translucent eyes that can only be seen in ghost movies and pictures with depictions of ghosts. Thankfully for Kazuma, he is not easily spooked out by this, and besides, he felt the specter looked hilarious, removing the dreadful face of the arsenals of the specter to use to lower his morale in the fight.

Angry at the sudden surprise attack, the specter stretched her hands and her claws started to increase in length so that it looked like a rapier after it stopped growing. Kazuma frowned and readied the wooden plank in his hands. Even though both of his hands are in fire, the plank doesn't burn at all. Of course, that was thanks to his training at making sure the weapon he was holding didn't catch fire if he didn't mean it to catch on fire in the first place. If the enemy before him is planning to fight him by using its claws then a fitting weapon is also ideal.

"I see that is how you want to play then? Then don't mind me if I do the same as well!"

Kazuma waved the wooden plank and the plank that was previously fine on his flames started to catch and burn in flames.

"Come here!"

Her translucent eyes flickered, she was so agitated by Kazuma's provocation that she disappeared from where she was before and reappeared in front of Kazuma before stabbing him with her sharp claws. But Kazuma is not that slow for him to not react to that attack. Before the attack connected, Kazuma raised the burning weapon and blocked the incoming piercing attack with the wooden plank. As a result, the plank was attached to her claws in the process.

"Burn!"

Kazuma snapped his fingers and the wooden plank that was on fire immediately burst into massive flames even the claws of the specter were caught in flames as well.

"Looks like my plan worked. Thankfully, even though you are a f*cking specter you are f*cking flammable."

The specter tried to shake off the flames but failed as it slowly climbed up to her arm. Kazuma didn't want to let the specter recover and while it was trying to remove the burning flames that were threatening to burn her, Kazuma didn't waste his time dawdling and started throwing multiple fireballs towards the specter.

Since the specter was too busy at trying to remove the flames from her claws, it didn't get to dodge all the incoming flames, which then started to burn her body. She started to scream in pain as she rolled over to extinguish the flame but because Kazuma constantly provided flames to her body to stop the flames from getting extinguished, her efforts were all in vain.

Then, Kazuma felt a slight pain in his head. From the looks of it, he is running out of mana. The fight has yet to end but Kazuma is already running out of gas. Kazuma is in a bit of a pickle but he decides to stop firing flames at her. Instead, he stomped his foot on her before repeatedly kicking her multiple times. He knows it barely does anything and his kicks aren't that strong but Kazuma wanted to at least bring this f*cker to a pain it has yet to experience.

As the flames continued to consume the specter, the specter decided to use a last attempt to dispose of Kazuma. She let out an otherworldly cry as a burst of dark energy pulses through her.

Kazuma frowned and instinctively backed off. Despite the specter burning and her body flickering as she was about to vanish and turn into ash, it seems she is trying to do something as a last resort for the battle.

She disappeared from where she was and reappeared as quickly as she disappeared behind Kazuma. However, Kazuma already anticipated the attack. When she was about to try and bite Kazuma's neck, Kazuma turned around with a fist covered in flames as he welcomed her creepy burning translucent face with a punch that was enough to destroy whatever was left on her face.

BOOM!

The specter was sent flying as a result. Kazuma slowly walked towards the dying specter. It tried to get up and probably flee but due to the flames slowly consuming her, she had trouble even properly moving. As for Kazuma, he only has a small amount of mana left in him. Enough for one more precise strike.

As the specter tried to flee, Kazuma approached her and stepped on her back to stop her from crawling away.

"Game's over. Now, rest in ashes."

Kazuma formed his remaining fuel into a raging flame in the form of a sharp blade growing in his hands and stabbing it straight to the specter's heart.

BOOM!

The specter stopped moving and its true form revealed itself as a Qlipoth entity that changed its former appearance before it was consumed by flames and turned into ashes.

In the end, Kazuma emerged victorious. But Kazuma is left in a tired state. He barely was able to support himself as he leaned on the crates of boxes near him and let himself recover the lost mana in his body.

While resting, both Rena and Raigaki appeared clapping after the battle.

"Suppression complete Kazuma. Good work. Here, have some Mana recovery pills. You earned it," Raigaki grinned as he tossed a small bottle containing 3 small blue marble-sized pills.

Kazuma chuckled. After all, the curse that was with him is now officially destroyed. Now, there are only 6 more mysteries left.
