24 Seven Mysteries Part 5

Reading through the newly updated mystery, Kazuma frowned as he wasn't expecting something to actually hit him. Kazuma is quite sure that he got hit by this new mystery as he got a photo from the girl he just talked to earlier. It's not a good thing. And like what the description did say, a photobomber will appear if someone is photographed alone. He was alone in the photo, minus the photobomber. He triggered one of the mysteries by accident.

Now that he is entangled in the mess, Kazuma decides to tell the two about his predicament. Perhaps they can help. Since he can't afford to be alone, he decided to return to his classroom for now. Even if the photobomber is targeting him now, he should be safe there for the time being. If it attacks, he will defend his life with his magic.

Compared to before, he can feel a presence constantly watching him. Although it gets weaker as he approaches a crowded area, the moment he gets to a quiet place, the presence is getting stronger. Thankfully for Kazuma, he managed to return back to the classroom without any incident. The presence is still there but it is not doing anything right now especially since it is still trying to see whether it is good to attack or not.

Moonlight isn't there at the moment so he has no backup on this one aside from himself. Now that he is temporarily safe, he returns to the group chat and starts to tell the two about the situation. Luckily, both are online after the update of the 4th mystery.

------

Kazuma: Guys, I think I will be encountering the 4th mystery.

Rena: Huh? What are you talking about?

Raigaki: Wait, did you get a photograph by yourself?

Kazuma: Oh, not really. Someone shot a photo of me and a photobomber that you mentioned in the description of the 4th mystery does appear in the photo. I can feel its presence right now.

Rena: Where are you?

Kazuma: I returned to the classroom as I could feel the presence getting stronger whenever I was alone. If there are people around the presence weakens but it remains. It is like waiting for the right time.

Raigaki: Damn, tough luck Kazuma but don't worry. Although it's a troublesome one, it's not that strong. It preys on weaker people but it seems it will be finding its match if it faces you.

Kazuma: Because I am a magician?

Raigaki: Indeed. It only faces humans before and since it just started recently, this enemy is still starting to get menacing. Unless you need our professional help?

Kazuma: Not really. Although this is currently targeting me, I am planning to deal with it. I just wanted to have a good understanding of this enemy. I don't want civilians to be involved and there is a chance I might have to fight it in a hallway if I am alone and there is a chance I will be discovered. I want to see if there is a contingency plan to deal with this matter.

Rena: You are right. This will be troublesome as you will have trouble using magic spells while getting the risk of getting caught. We will be helping to ensure that the civilians will not be involved. But are you sure you want us to not help in this matter?

Kazuma: It's fine. I actually wanted to use this chance to see if I am ready to deal with the other Qlipoth mysteries. If I can't deal with this then that only means I am not ready to deal with all of the others as well.

Raigaki: Indeed, you are correct. The "photobomber" is not a big threat but only troublesome. If this made you have trouble, then you indeed needed time to train more. Just send us signals if you need help, and we will come right away.

Kazuma: Thanks. Then, what time do you think is best to deal with this trouble?

Raigaki: It's best if dealt with immediately. Since it has you on sight, dealing with it as soon as possible is necessary, plus, you won't have to worry about dealing with it while investigating the other mysteries at night, sparing you big trouble. And don't worry. It's not a ghost but a Qlipoth. Ghosts aren't real and they are just products of the Qlipoth's influence. The same goes for this enemy as well. Magic will work just fine like normal.

Kazuma: Then, I needed to find an empty space to deal with this matter.

Rena: Come to the back of the school building. We will accompany you on the way so that the attack will not occur but once we arrive there, we will leave and stay farther from you so that we can release an area where normal people can't see or enter aside from you and the enemy. There is a big ground for the battle so go wild.

Kazuma: Thanks. I will begin now. The sooner, the better.

----

Knowing that he had the backup in case things got bad, Kazuma nodded and left the classroom. Just like what was discussed, Raigaki and Rena accompanied him from the back of the school building, and like what Rena said, it is indeed very spacious, and not many things are there that would be damaged aside from two trees standing there plus a few stuff that seems to be old books and wooden crates. It's isolated and the windows from the school building are used as a room for the AV room and Science Lab. Both are not in use at the moment, making it the best place to fight.

"Good luck Kazuma. Don't worry, if you are in a pinch, we will be helping you out," Raigaki tapped Kazuma's shoulder.

"You can do it~ Don't think too much, just focus on the enemy, we will be focusing on isolating the battle from the eyes and ears of the public."

"Thank you both," Kazuma nodded and ready himself. He grabbed the nearest wooden plank and armed himself with it as a weapon. The two then disappear as they move far from his location yet close enough that they can rescue Kazuma in case trouble happens.

With the two disappearing and leaving Kazuma alone, the presence immediately grew stronger and Kazuma immediately felt its presence. Kazuma immediately rolled forward, narrowly dodging the attack of the enemy that suddenly appeared out of nowhere.

Kazuma immediately stood up and ready himself. Before him is a girl wearing the uniform of Sakura High. She would be easily mistaken as a student if not for her long stature and her long limbs. Her face is covered in hair but her hair seems to be alive on its own.

"Looks like you are out for the kill, huh? Too bad, I am not someone who would immediately back down easily!"

Aiming his palm, he fired a fireball at the girl but the enemy was agile and easily dodged it. However, it didn't expect Kazuma's next move and immediately tasted one whooping from the Wooden Plank straight to the face, causing her to be knocked off.

"I just took a gamble to see whether I can hit you with this wooden plank but seeing how it affected you, then this is proof enough that I can beat you to death without wasting too much of my mana!"

The girl had yet to recover when another whoop arrived and knocked the girl into the distance.

"Alright, you were trying to kill me right? Then bring it on. We are just getting started."
