33 Seven Mysteries Part 14

The three investigate the vacant area beside the last classroom. And just by looking at it, it is indeed pretty odd and is sticking out. Not only does it have no purpose to leave a place vacant like this, but it is also a big space that it is unthinkable that someone would order the workers to just leave it just like that as a design. It is too impractical and the three also think so as well.

"Damn, I was expecting an easier mission but having something like this in a mission that we do almost yearly is something that I wouldn't expect to happen," Raigaki grumbled.

"Are these unprecedented events common?" Kazuma asked.

"Sometimes. However, this is an odd one as we are not expecting troublesome Qlipoth incidents to happen at all like this. Seeing it happening like this is annoying at best and it is extra work for all of us. Of course, with us here, you don't need to be too worried~" Rena explained and reassured Kazuma of his doubts.

"Then, what's next? With the classroom gone, is there any way for us to recover the classroom and rescue the people trapped inside?" Kazuma asked.

"Yes, but we need to come back again tomorrow. For today, we have to gather the pieces of evidence regarding this matter and inform Voltaire and Catmod about it. We also lack the necessary items to ensure that the classroom and students will be safe, so we can only wait until then," Raigaki clearly didn't like leaving the people in distress, but because of the circumstances, he had to do so.

They can only gather evidence here and there and prove that the place existed before and make sure that the people who "drifted" from the real world are safe and unharmed.

"How can we be so sure that they won't be harmed while they are not here? Aren't Qlipoths capable of doing harm and, worse, killing people?" Kazuma asked.

"There is a three-day rule in this scenario, and depending on how high the danger level of the Qlipoth, the shorter the necessary day we need to complete and reverse the effects. Seeing that it only transported one entire classroom full of students, they are still relatively safe for now since today is the day they disappeared. We still have two more days for them to be safe. But it isn't always a guarantee, which is why we will have to rescue them first thing tomorrow," Rena explained in detail.

"Alright, I gathered a few pieces of evidence here and there. I confirm that this is part of the Seven Mysteries in this school, and it is still within our capabilities, which means the difficulty level of this mission won't just ramp up. And sadly, neither do our mission rewards," Raigaki revealed.

"It's fine~ If the difficulty ramps up, we will surely get more members in our group to solve this and that means, we will divide our rewards. Having three people is balanced out enough so you shouldn't complain and in fact, celebrate that it wasn't a hard thing to do," Rena smiled.

Because the three couldn't do anything aside from gathering evidence, they left the missing classroom and Raigaki updated the document regarding the 7 mysteries and how 1 of the mysteries has been eliminated and another one revealed.

Kazuma opened his phone and saw that it was already 11 in the evening. He was surprised since he felt like he wasn't there for too long.

"We are already a few hours already exploring the school? I didn't know it was already this late!" Kazuma frowned.

"Don't worry about it, Kazuma. Actually, this is the norm especially if you are investigating mysteries regarding Qlipoths. Most activities are very active around 10 pm and will escalate further once it hits midnight. It isn't rare for us magicians to work overtime like this, to be honest," Raigaki pocketed his phone after updating the entries of the new 7 mysteries.

"We got two unknown mysteries still left to investigate. Should we split up or should we call it a day?" Raigaki looked at the two.

Rena opened her smartphone and looked at the time.

"We have spent so much time here now that we should go back and do this again later at night. It's almost 4 already and we are past the witching hour without us even noticing. Kazuma should also go back home as well since he still needed a bit more sleep compared to us," Rena decided.

"I see. Then let's get out of here. Kazuma, go home and have some rest, leave the rest to us," Raigaki grinned and pat Kazuma's shoulder.

"Huh? You guys will remain?"

"Yeah. We will wait for the backup to arrive since we will have to solve the drifting classroom early in the morning so that once classes begin, things will be back to normal and the students of the drifting classroom won't notice any difference."

Kazuma frowned at hearing this. "Wait, wait. Aren't we all in this together?"

"Yes. But to you who have barely begun your journey as a Magician, pushing yourself too much would just ruin your body. So go back for now and have some good rest. Assist us later instead. Here, let me do the honors of sending you back home," Raigaki snapped his fingers before Kazuma could even say his piece, he found himself standing in his living room.

"F*ck..." Kazuma can only utter those words as he slumps on the floor.

...

...

...

Back in the room where Raigaki and Rena were left out, Rena looked at Raigaki with suspicion on her face.

"Why do you need to even care about the situation to Kazuma? Shouldn't he be capable of knowing what happens during the restoration of the people that got sucked in the Drifting Classroom?"

"He does need to know but this is too early for him. Most of the things he has experienced are some things that even normal people can experience but this next thing we will have to do is something that he has to be more prepared to handle. If he ever knows that it is pretty gruesome to deal with what happened then I doubt he will be able to hold on to the job of being a magician. Slowly exposing him instead of exposing him to it immediately will have better effects on his mental state."

"Guess you do have a point."

As they were talking, three people wearing black suits appeared behind them. The woman who wears a kimono and has her face covered by a paper with a drawing of some sort of big eye steps forward.

"Is this the location of the drifting classroom that was reported?"

Rena nodded, "Yes. We are waiting for all of you. Shall we begin?"

"Indeed."

And as she said that, the two men behind her went into position. Raigaki and Rena also went to their respective positions as well. A giant magic circle materialized before them and all of them started pouring mana into the magic circle. The one who is doing all the work is the girl with the paper mask.

It didn't take long for the power of the whole place to suddenly surge and the once missing classroom started to form once again. However, the students that should still be alive are now in a form of mash of flesh clumped in their seats.

"Looks like we are still not late. No one has been consumed yet. Proceed to the next phase. Make their restoration process and modification process perfect so that no one will know what happened. As for you two, I trust you two in dealing with the Qlipoth itself. Now that we are recovering the classroom, the Qlipoth will come chasing. Can I trust you two to do this?"

Raigaki grinned while Rena smiled with her fan open.

"We can do this all day."
