18 Staring Differently

"Where are you taking me?" She asked nonchalantly.

"Aren't you even a bit excited?" He said smiling. Whatever happened earlier seemed forgotten.

"Why should I be?" She asked without even looking at him.

"You're with me. Isn't that good reason enough?"

"I didn't know that you're a comedian."

There was an awkward silence after that.

After almost ten minutes, Xyrin asked, "Why are you doing these things? You and I know that we are not engage. My parents and my friends know the truth as well. So, what's the point of pretending that we are together? And why did you threaten my friend?"

"Friend? He was staring at you differently? Aren't you even concern about that?"

"Of all the things that I said, is that the only word that you heard?"

Liam remained quiet, thus, she decided to continue, "Differently? Even if he does, it doesn't concern you."

She knows what he means but she's not worried about anything. Josh is one of the few people of whom she'll trust her life with. And besides, even though he's too handsome and manly, he is, in fact, a gay. Few trusted friends know about it. It's not that he wants to fool anyone but he doesn't want to act like a girl knowing that he's not.

There was even one time when he said, "I'm masculine enough to admit that I'm feminine by heart. And I'm feminine enough to respect and value that I'm masculine in fact." That principle of his heightened her respect towards him and those who are like him.

"It doesn't concern me?" He snorted.

"Why would you be concerned with other people's business?"

"Have you forgotten about it already? In front of the public's eyes, I am your fiancé."

Xyrin laughed.

"Stop using that lame excuse. Whatever your reasons are, stop interfering with my life. What happened three years ago is nothing but history now. If doing these things for you will make as even, then, I'll do it as you please. The past few years, it was all because of you, but I won't hold you accountable for that, for I have not regretted those days that I spent abroad. But three months, that's more than what I can give. Still, I promise that I'll endure until it's over. So, promise me that after that, you will leave me, my friends, and my family alone."
