11 Revenge

With everything that's happening, her parents just look at the two of them, as if it's an expected interaction between her and Liam.

"Uncle, may I talk to her for a while? I missed her. It has been three months since the last time I saw her." Liam said.

"It's okay. Take your time. We'll wait for you in the dining room." Her father immediately gave his consent while tapping his shoulder.

When everyone's gone, she took a step back, away from him.

Alexander frowned but it was too short to be noticed.

"Why are you doing this?"

Her face shows no emotions at all and her nonchalance annoyed him.

"You like this, right? All those years, you were yearning for my embrace and you wanted my full attention. Now that I'm giving it all to you, aren't you satisfied?"

His voice was full of mockery. It was the complete opposite of how he approached her when her parents were still around.

Xyrin smiled and asked, "Satisfied? Why would I be?"

Liam was taken aback and for a moment, he didn't know what to say.

"Don't tell me, you have forgotten…" He was about to remind her of everything that she did before she went abroad but she interrupted him.

"I have not forgotten anything. But whatever it was that I felt for you, it's all gone. So, don't expect that I'll be happy with what you're doing right now. I don't know what's running in your mind but if this is your kind of revenge, tell me what I should do to stop all this nonsense," Xyrin said. Her tone sounds like a businesswoman whose closing a business deal.

Liam laughed. It was like music that intertwines with his arrogance and mockery.

"Revenge? You think that I'll stoop that low for you?"

He laughed again and said, "You really haven't changed at all. Do you think I'd fall for your scheme?"

"What are you talking about? Are you already out of your mind? If you think that I still feel the same for you, then, let me clear this to you. I will never love you again."
