1 Twin fates

(Sky POV)

He was awakened by a tight squeezing in his chest, he couldn't breathe. Slowly, he got out of bed while clawing at his head for his brain feels like it was about to pop out.

His heart shattering and his blood boiling, he is hurt & furious.

He wiped the tears on his cheeks, like an idiot, he frantically tilted his head up and with his hands he fanned out the tears that were about to fall.

All the strong emotions that he feels and all the tears that he was shedding was not his own but Mira's. His twin was somewhere making a fool out of herself.

Sky, with his own feelings of wrath came out of his bedroom door and shouted his sister's name, "Miraaaaaa!".

(A day after the incident)

Sky spent his day holed up in his room watching netflix and playing video games. He missed today's soccer game with his friends, he will only embarrass himself when untimely emotional meltdown hits him.

His red and puffy eyes felt tired, he needed to take a walk and breathe in some fresh air, lucky it was already dark and the things he's hiding will be less noticeable, plus, he really needed snacks for a movie marathon.

He wore his black hoodie and baseball cap, he picked up his prescription eyeglasses and during these times he was not regretful of all his investments in dim light movie watching & MMMRPG, because of these, he gained a negative 250 and 300 eyesight. Wearing his eyeglasses during such time is favourable for Sky, it will help conceal the puffy eye bags that his sister made especially for him, after all, wearing sunglasses when the sun's down is somewhat illogical and he will look like a shoplifter.

Sky went on his way to a nearby convenience store. He kept his head low while grabbing some chips, and on his way for some soda, he passed by a group of giggling girls. Were they laughing at him? Probably just paranoia but he no longer feels comfortable being there so he made haste with his shopping.

He was picking up a chocolate bar when he suddenly felt something heavy around his eyes. "Lucky me! She's at it again."

Sky ran off to the counter, a voluptuous curly haired girl greeted him. "Hello sir, good evening!", he nodded and avoided the cashier's stare.

"Will these be all sir?", again sky nodded in response. "Nothing else that would you like to add?" He was fighting back tears, he don't want to be rude to her but he raised his voice slightly signalling that he's in a hurry.

"No! Nothing else, how much?"

"It's five hundred forty five pesos and 50 cents sir, card or cash?"

"Card, here, take this hurry."

"Savings or current?"

"Savings"

"Please enter your pin sir"

(Sky entered his pin, his eyes brimming with tears)

"System error, can you enter your pin again sir?"

$####!!!+ šŸ¤¬šŸ¤¬šŸ¤¬, paying for something you bought in a convenience store never felt this long. Sky entered his pin again while giving all his willpower to hold his tears. It's nearly done, it will all be over soon, he assured himself.

"Oh! By the way sir do you have your rewards card with you?" šŸ¤—

"No.." Tears fell like waterfalls from his eyes, the cashier saw this, and felt responsible for it.

"Gosh, i'm sorry, were you not able to bring your rewards card with you? It is really regretful that you'll not be able to have the points for the goods you purchased. I was so insensitive, i shouldn't have asked."

Sky was at lost for words, he failed to save himself from a public humiliation. The thought of his sister irks him, could she send him a message whenever she was about to cry? It's the least she could do.

The group of giggling girls which he passed by earlier saw this and felt even more attracted to the mysteriously handsome man who was now shedding tears in front of the cashier, he looked so cute in his vulnerable state and the girls felt protective of him. They moved towards the cashier and confronted her, a couple of store crew and the store manager rushed to the commotion. The once peaceful and quiet store was now turned into a war zone.

Sky lifted his bag of groceries and moved out of the now chaotic convenience store. He went home defeated, he never thought that a walk for some fresh air will turn out to be this disastrous.

Dinner was always awkwardly quiet and a couple of sniffles was making it worse.

Their parents are exchanging looks, communicating without the use of words.

"So, who's the real upset person here?" Their father broke the silence.

"Dad, it's me!" Sky answered.

"Really? It's not like you."

"You shouldn't have asked when the answer's obvious, the last time i actually cried was when i was in sixth grade, after that, Mira singlehandedly did all the crying."

"Will you stop displaying how unfeeling you are? You're disgusting." Mira jumped in.

"I'm not displaying anything em, let's just say that i'm a lot better at containing my emotions, and i'm not pestering anyone."

"I'm feeling better now knowing that i'm actually pestering you!"

"Did you hear that mom? Dad? She's being disrespectful, i'm five minutes older!"

"Hush now children, finish your food." Their mother shot them a smile and waited for them to comply. "Oh, and sky, you will never be a matured person to me, not unless you stopped watching anime and playing video games." Sky never knew why every family conversation ends up with him being toasted by his mother.

Few days past, Mira never recovered from her heartbreak and sky faced countless public embarrassment. Determined to end their sufferings, he's planning to do something that'll make his sister feel better.
