She's Just a Substitute

By the time Dr. Weston pushed a pile of medical equipment into the room, Casiano had already left.

Seeing Dr. Weston applying medicine and administering an IV drip for her, Alla felt somewhat embarrassed.

Dr. Weston, however, gave her a meaningful smile.

"Ms. Barton is fortunate."

What Dr. Weston was implying was probably Casiano's unusual concern for her.

But this little bit of difference was probably just out of pity.

After all, they had been together for five years, and the sudden news of her heart disease would surely evoke more care, even from the coldest person.

Dr. Weston didn't know what Alla was thinking. After fixing the IV needle on the back of her hand with tape, he handed her several boxes of medicine.

"Ms. Barton is fortunate, and also lucky. I just happened to have procured a batch of medicine for late-stage heart failure from abroad."
