9 Chapter 9

A bright light woke Sam from darkness. She had an intense headache from last night drinking session. She paused as she realized that she was not at home.

She looked around and found a beautiful room. It was a simple room but it was carefully designed with expensive looking furniture.

She tried to recall that happen at night. Charles was holding her tight. She tried to struggle at first. She was crying so much as she kept telling him to let go. "I cant forgive your family. Let me go. let me have my peace" she wailed. He did not let go no matter how she struggled. But sudden black out happened.

"Good morning" he suddenly greeted from the door as he entered. He smiled brightly at her as he carried breakfast.

"I know you have a nasty headache from last night, I prepared a very hot milk and a medicine for that" he happily said.

He placed the tray over her. "You eat up. Once your done, you can wash up. Clothes are available at that door. I did prepare clothes, accessories and shoes" he said while pointing at the white door. "the bathroom is thru that room" he added.

He faced at her. He showed gentleness toward her. "Charles I need to go" she said.

"Don't think of running away from me" his gentleness disappeared. She could feel the coldness from him. His back was face at her. "I will never let you" he added,

He smiled at her. His eyes showed his loneliness despite with that smiling face. Sam's heart ached.

He stood and left the room.

Sam ate alone in the room. When she came out from the shower, food was already on top of the table. She noticed the veranda with a small table and a chair. It was a good day for breakfast outside. The bright sun was out.

She thought Charles would join in but he did not come. She was a little disappointed.

When she finished, she decided to go out of the room. But the door was locked somehow. She attempted it many times but the door would not move. She tried to knock many times and cry for help but she could not hear anything.

She ran out to the veranda. She was thinking anyone would pass by, but somehow she saw no one.

Then, a cellular phone rang.

It was a red colored phone. It was an android phone but it was somehow very expensive.

She answered.

"Sam, don't be scared. There are guards outside, but you are not allowed to go out of the room until I come back. I just need to finish some work and I will join you at dinner later" he said as his tone was in authority.

"This is a crime, Charles" she warned.

"Maybe. but still never again will I give you a chance to runaway" he replied still his tone remained calm.

"Charles, we can't be together" she sobbed.

But Charles did not listen. " Yes we can. I will make it happen" he added. He hung up.

In the office, Charles was looking at the window as he was talking to Sam. He recalled her expression when she saw him. His heartache as he thought of her running away from him.

"I cant lose you" he thought.
