15 CHAPTER 15

"O joyous!!" the old man was delighted to hear the news. I,on the other hand, had froze in place. I did not know it showed how surprise I had received the news.

I could feel Sam's hand trembling. My infidelity resulted with a child. I didn't want to look how grieve her face could be. I was scared how she would react to this. She had run away when she found out of my affairs. How would she react to this?

"Charles, you can't be possibly leave me be?" she was cooing. She tried to clung on me while I was holding into Sam at the other side.

Sam's grip loosened. But I was determined to hold on to her. I was like signalling her not to let go.

"Clara, that is enough with your jokes" I said, it had been three months since last time we had slept together.

"I am not joking, Charles" she handed her pregnancy test. It stated POSITIVE.

My mind went blank. Sam peeked and saw the same thing to what I did.

"You can't even keep your semen to yourself Charles." she said angrily. She pulled her hands away as I was in daze.

This could not happen. I was just patching up with Sam and this happened.

"Divorce my grandson, as you can see faith led them together" my grand father boasted. the people around us were whispering. They were enjoying such lovely show, my life.

Sam stepped away. "Do tell him that," she looked at me with a frown.

"I will gladly gave this MOST EDUCATED lady my husband" she emphasized. Everyone whispered again.

"But, too bad for her, I AM PREGNANT as well" she said.

"I can raise my husband child, but I cannot tolerate for her to clung to my husband hoping for another child. And you wish, if I let you set foot inside our house to pretend on behalf of the child's welfare" Sam was really angry. Her words were snappy.

I could hear snickers from the sidelines.

"IF that child is really mine, I will not runaway for support. But ONLY for my child" I emphasized. Sam clung to me and suddenly pulled me away from Clara.

"I am the LEGAL wife," she said.

"Do get a hold of yourself girl" my grandfather warned her.

"Charles, Clara's family is a very important client to our company. Are you willing to take a risk to get someone from her family, be your enemy?"

"As I said grandfather, I am already married. I cannot leave my wife" I said.

Clara started to weep. She clung to my legs as of begging me to be with her. My wife did not yield. She did not push Clara away but she did not let go of my arm. She did not say anything, but her silence meant everything.
