3 TRAVIS AND THE GANG 2

They watched the armed people through the monitors. It was almost midnight and the people inside his house had cleaned and dressed their wounds already.

"What are you doing?!" Hawk whispered with a hint of worry.

"Just stay here." Travis signaled them to stay low but Hawk and Brown didn't listen to him at all. They held their guns and pointed them to the people at the gate, in case they would take aggressive actions against Travis.

The doorbell rang thrice before Travis came out to answer them. His hair was disheveled and he was wearing a black robe which was tied around his waist.

"Good evening gentlemen. Is there anything I can help you with?" his gaze and relaxed manner of speaking were actually intimidating to the people outside.

A man with a tiger tattoo on his forearms walked up to him. He threw down the cigarette butt and stomp on it with his boots. "There was a gang that killed a few of my men earlier. They escaped toward this area. By any chance, have you seen them or did anyone trespass here? They were highly skilled after all."

"I did hear some commotions but it wasn't from here. I would know if anyone's trespassing on my property. I have sensors placed around my house. If you want you can check the house. I don't really want to involve myself in gang fights." Travis responded with an expressionless face. He gestured them to get inside but the man turned away instead.

"It's indeed best for you to stay away from any gang. If you find any suspicious people, you can contact this person." he threw a card and left.

Travis watched them until they were out of sight. He went back inside and found Hawk and Brown leaning on the sofa with relieved faces.

"Thank you so much for helping us. I'm Brown." Introduced the man with silver hair. "This is Hawk, " he pointed to the man beside him who had a grim face. "the lady is Savannah and the other man is Valkyrie. We can only give you code names but not our personal information."

"I don't really care about your personal information. I just want to help." Travis sat on the couch facing them. "You can stay here until your friends are stable. You can leave after that."

"Thank you," Hawk stated while looking at Savannah.

'They must be in a relationship.' That's what Travis thought based on the expression of the man while watching the woman.

"How did you know we're from the military?" Brown asked when they have relaxed from so much exhaustion.

Travis looked at them carefully as if studying them. Then, he looked at Valkyrie who was sleeping on one of the couches. "My late grandpa was a General from the Eagles Detachment. He trained me with my shooting skills and I met him there." his index finger was pointing at Valkyrie.

"Oh. Such coincidence!" Brown exclaimed but his face turned serious when he thought about how they ended up in his house.

Earlier, while running around Valkyrie was guiding him where to go as he carried him off on his back. Thinking about it, Brown was sure that Valkyrie was leading them to this man.

"It's late. Let's take a rest. I'll show you, your rooms." Travis stood up and helped Brown with Valkyrie. Hawk lifted Savannah with ease before following them to the second floor.

He had them stay in the rooms opposite to each other, just right beside his room. Savannah was supposed to stay alone in a room but Hawk was worried when she would wake up in an unfamiliar place. In the end, he slept on the couch near the bed while Savannah had the bed all to herself.

The next morning, the servants were shocked to see a lot of men in their master's house. They were even asked to buy clothes for a woman. A woman! Their master didn't like bringing people to this house, much more a woman!

The head servant brought the clothes for the girl. She walked to the second floor and found the woman lying on the bed with a handsome man beside her.

"These are the clothes for the lady," she spoke in a low voice while handing him the clothes.

"Thank you. I can help her change." Hawk responded, dismissing the servant right away.

"Do you really have to scare them?" Savannah chuckled before sitting up straight. "I can manage on my own." she grabbed the clothes and limped her way to the bathroom.

Hawk let her do what she wants knowing that she would flare up if he would oppose her.

On the other hand, Valkyrie had a wide grin on his face, as if the incident last night was just a part of his dream.

"I didn't know you'd be here! I thought your cousin owns this place. I've seen her multiple times go in and out of this place when I was scouting the drug den." his chattering was endless and he was obviously happy to see the man in front of him.

"I own the place. My cousin would drop by when she got some time. Good thing I was here last night or you would've died." Travis responded before giving them a change of clothes.

Brown found out that they were indeed familiar with each other. Travis even came into Valkyrie's life before him. Even so, he didn't feel bad at all.

That's how the five of them met and become friends.

"Four years. Oh god! It's been four years since you helped us. Two years in your company. Two years! It took us two years to find the little girl." she spoke in an exasperated tone.

Travis just laughed it off. "It doesn't matter. As long as we find her, I'd be able to fulfill my promise."

Savannah just smiled while Hawk kept silent as he listened to their conversation. He was focused on his surroundings and was driving carefully.

"We have a lead but we are not sure yet which one of them is her." Hawk expressed his thoughts.

Savannah pinched his thigh in frustration. "You spoiler! Don't burst my bubbles of hope!" she glared at him but Hawk just chuckled at her expression.
