11 SUMMER CAFE CONVERSATION

Her shock and amazement was obviously written on her face. It had been three days since their affair happened and, if she could make a choice, she wouldn't want to see him again.

"Why are you here?" Jillyanna asked while keeping her things away from his sight. She didn't want him to know her identity as a singer.

Travis sat down on the couch across her table as if they were really close friends. "I was passing by when I saw you from the outside. I thought it'd be nice to drop by and say 'Hi!'."

Jillyanna rubbed her temple from a sudden dull ache. "Look. What we had was just a one night affair. You don't have to worry about me clinging to you because it won't happen. Let's just forget that we actually done that. Hmm?"

"I can't do that." Travis put his elbow on the table while placing his chin on his palm. He looked at her straight in the eyes which made Jillyanna's heart skip a beat.

"What do you mean you can't do that?" she glared at him but Travis only chuckled.

"I can't do that. I can't forget that night. I am serious. I am interested in you."

Jillyanna rolled her eyes at him after exhaling a long breath. She really couldn't fathom what men were thinking. She just said she didn't like dwelling on their past and here he goes saying he's interested in her.

"Travis. Travis, right?" Travis only raised his brow before Jillyanna continued. "I believe you're a man with pride. I have pride, too. However, I bet you don't want a woman who earns more than you. I earn millions per year. If it would hurt your ego, you better give up your idea of 'interest' in me. And even if people considered me as rich, I don't like hanging with rich people. So just leave me alone. Let's save our time and avoid getting hurt."

Travis just watched her talked in front of him. He didn't say anything but her statements made him more curious about her.

"I don't mind having a rich girlfriend. I have my own money, too. I am not rich so you can hang out with me. I am just an ordinary man. And I honestly like you."

Jillyanna frowned and was biting her lips from having heard his outburst. She never expected someone to actually rebutted her.

"I can't really promise you anything. Even though you are handsome things might not workout between us. I am always busy. I don't have much time for my partner. It would definitely make you leave me. So why not leave me now and save yourself from disappointment. I am not really a girlfriend type." She tried to reason with him but Travis had set his mind to get her right off the bat from that fateful night.

Jillyanna was so engrossed in talking to him that she wasn't aware of the stares that people throw in their direction. Most women had hearts in their eyes and most men were envious of the person in front of her.

The cafe staff wanted to know their relationship as well but that's a private matter, so didn't pry on their boss' love life.

One of the staff approached their table with a parfait to serve. "Miss Cielo told me to bring this for you. It's a new creation of our chef and they wanted your opinion on this." the cafe staff placed the dessert and went back to work.

"You know the owner of Summer Cafe?" Travis asked in interest. Knowing another layer of her secrets and identity, aroused a new level of interest within him.

"My friend owns this. The one I was with at the bar. She run this place when she graduated from university. You can order if you want. I am not planning to share my food with you." She was really blunt with her statements.

Travis looked at her quietly. He didn't say anything until he stood up from his seat. "I will prove to you that I am serious in this matter."

Jillyanna didn't really care about him though she heard what he said, she thought that it wouldn't change a thing. He would certainly give up on her sooner or later.

And because she was focusing on her own thoughts and dessert, she wasn't able to guard herself when he suddenly kissed her forehead.

"I'm going back to work sweetheart." he spoke with a sexy voice that made everyone's heart flutter.

But that wasn't the case with Jillyanna. She was so angry at him that she'd wanted to kick his eyes.

"I hate you!" she gritted her teeth as she spoke her words. Her face felt so hot it could melt her ice cream.

"How sad. I still love you even if you hate me. Beside, that was just a kiss. We've done things beyond that." The words he whispered made her fume from anger and embarrassment.

"There's no way things would workout between us. Go away or I'll kick your ass and hang you upside-down!" she ate her dessert as quickly as she could without looking back at him.

People looked at their interaction with envy.

"The woman was beautiful and the man was handsome. They looked so good together." a teen-aged girl exclaimed with a twinkling eyes.

"Her boyfriend was so sweet. Shouldn't you act sweet with me, too?" another girl dissed her boyfriend beside her.

"She said 'I hate you!' but her boyfriend replied 'I still love you even if you hate me'. My god! How can they look so cute and adorable while arguing?" Another woman spoke to her friends.

Jillyanna blushed even more from their statements. She wasn't aware at all that they were paying attention to them. Their words embarrassed her since she knew Travis wasn't her boyfriend at all.

Cielo came out to check on her and caught on some of the words. She approached her friend who looked so grumpy while eating.

"What's the commotion all about? Why do you look like you're about to kill someone?" Cielo sat on the couch that Travis used earlier.

"Nothing. It's someone I knew that came to annoy me. People misunderstood easily." Jillyanna answered while scooping another ice cream. "Good thing you gave me this or I would've flipped this table at him earlier."

Cielo laughed at her friend who seemed normal to her for the first time. It was the first time she showed a change of emotions since her mother died.
