14 MYSTERIOUS SENDER SAVES THE DAY

Everyone inside the house was stunned at his words. They didn't know what exactly to say or how to react in such situation.

Savannah had a confused face and she seemed like she wanted to say something but she had a hard time forming her words.

"This...this idea...are you sure about this? What exactly are you trying to do?" Savannah asked at last while watching Travis pull his suitcases downstairs.

"I can't tell you now. In any case, if I would really need your help, I will call you. However, while I am gone for this trip, take care of yourselves and make less contact with me. I don't want to make a mistake and ruin this chance." Travis put his things inside an ordinary car. He can't live extravagantly or else his target would know what's going on.

Savannah and the others looked at each other. They couldn't understand him at all and since Travis had made a decision already, they can only support and wish him luck with whatever he was trying to accomplish.

They watched him go away on his car with a face full of worry. Travis had been alone for so many years.

When his mother died, he took over his father's company because his father was too depressed over his mother's death. His father closed himself off from anyone, including his son.

"I hope he will be fine." Valkyrie stated while placing his arms casually on Brown's shoulder. Brown looked at him then looked at his arms.

"Get your hands off from me." Brown slapped away his hands which shocked Valkyrie a little. Then, he turned around and left without any words.

Savannah could only shake her head helplessly as she walked back to the house. Hawk just stared at Valkyrie before following Savannah.

"Hey! What's the matter with you guys?" Valkyrie yelled at them but no one stopped to pay him attention. He was even more agitated since Brown won't talk to him at all and he didn't know what really upset him.

Meanwhile...

Cielo got home and found Jillyanna sitting on a couch at the living room.

"So how did your confrontation go? Was he upset? Did he give up already?" Cielo inquired for a gossip without even changing her clothes first.

Jillyanna laughed at her best friend's behavior while thinking what to say. "I thought of giving him a chance."

"Really?!" Cielo gasped with unbelieving eyes. She never thought her best friend would actually give someone a chance.

Jillyanna put her tablet down and looked at her best friend carefully. "I am not doing this because I want to have a relationship. I'm doing this for myself. I mean you, you know the reason why I hooked up with him right? If the first time won't work, I can ask him for another round and I don't have to find a different man. I'm sure he would give in to me cause men would always think using the lower part of their anatomy."

Cielo was dumbfounded with her words. She was right! It was unbelievable for Jillyanna to give someone a chance and it's proven to be true.

Jillyanna stood up from her seat. "You can say I am selfish in this matter. Yes, I am. I admit that because I don't believe a man like him would actually took interest in me. And I don't believe in love. It doesn't exist in my world." Jillyanna left her best friend who sat there with a sad smile.

Cielo knew how much Jillyanna suffered when her mother left. She had been waiting for the day that her father would look for her but it never happened.

Her relatives were only after her money and they didn't really consider her as a family. Jillyanna had been disappointed over and over again.

Cielo's family can be considered the closest one she has after her mother left, yet Cielo can still feel the wall between them and Jillyanna.

Jillyanna had been respectful towards them for taking care of her. She never complained about their living condition and she always help them whenever she can but there was still an invisible gap between them.

Cielo sighed while watching her best friend walked back to her room. "I really wish that someone would show you what true love is."

In her room, Jillyanna took out the gift that Travis gave her that day. She sat beside the huge teddy bear and hugged it. "I really hope that you'd give up soon."

After hugging the stuff toy she opened the box and saw a bracelet with a heart shaped stone and a red string as the lace.

EVEN IF YOU DIDN'T LIKE MY PREVIOUS GIFTS, CAN YOU AT LEAST ACCEPT THIS. IT'S FINE IF YOU WON'T WEAR IT. -Boyfie

Jillyanna crumpled the paper and threw it on the trash bin. She looked at the item once again before putting it back inside the box. She didn't even touch it.

The night quickly passed and the next day came. Travis checked his phone immediately but there was no message from her.

"She's really true to her words. I hope you'll remember me and spare me some of your time." Travis whispered to himself before getting off from the bed.

He had to go to the company and work while she's not contacting him and he planned to shove his work for the next day if she would contact him. However, Travis waited for a whole week but nothing happened. There was no message or a single call.

"She must have forgotten about me." Travis slumped back on his swivel chair like he had lost all hope.

"What's wrong with him. It's been a week. He's been checking his phone almost every second during meetings. Who's he waiting for?" whispered one of the shareholders while glancing at him.

'Ding!'

A single sound that made everyone turned their heads at him. They were watching his reactions.

Travis quickly checked his phone but it was a message from Valkyrie stating that he would be going to a different city with Hawk for a scouting mission.

The day was about to end and there was nothing at all from her. His face turned dark and he tossed his phone on the table carelessly.

Everyone flinched from the sudden coldness. "Finish your report within two hours and submit it to me before six in the evening. I'll be checking on it tonight."

They were struck by a sudden lightning of his words. Two hours?! Was he joking?!

"How did he become so evil? Who upset him?!" The department leaders wanted to cry for the sudden news. The shareholders could only give them an encouraging smile.

'Ding!'

Everyone's heart was in their throat while watching their boss take a glance on his phone.

Travis blinked his eyes once. Then twice. He picked up his phone and rubbed his eyes.

"Our boss was so cute while doing that. Who could it be?" the women inside the meeting room whispered to each other while waiting for any other announcements.

A slow and beautiful smile appeared on his lips while reading the message from whoever it was. Everyone was stunned at his reaction. It was their first time seeing their boss smiled like that.

Travis felt a dozen pair of eyes staring at him so he covered his face and coughed lightly. "I have something to do tonight. You can do your report and submit them before lunch break tomorrow."

"Yes sir." Everyone answered with a relief. 'Whoever sent that message was their saviour.' That's what everybody thought.

"Meeting is adjourned." Travis announced and left them in a hurry.

"It must be a woman." an elderly shareholder spoke with a faint smile on his face.

"I bet it is. It's good for him." another man answered but they saw someone with a dark face still sitting on his chair even though the meeting was over.

"Cheska is the only person he can love. He's not allowed to have any affairs outside." The man stood up and left everyone in silence.

They could only sigh for Travis.
