38 LEFT FOR PARIS

Savannah dropped the bomb but the explosion didn't cause any ripples in Lucian's face. Instead he laughed and shook his head in disbelief and relief.

Disbelief that she had actually achieved her plan with that one-night affair and relief that she wasn't involved in any crime.

He looked at them with a faint smile. "Honestly, Jillyanna hasn't been home for a few days already. We tried contacting her but she wasn't answering. She came back to her apartment last Sunday with a man but she went out after few hours."

"You didn't report her missing?" Hawk interrupted him.

"Nope. We are sure that she's fine." Lucian answered.

"Do you know where she is?" Savannah asked him this time.

"Nope. But let me tell you something. Any moment from now, my sister will be leaving the country. That's something I know for certain."

It was a truth and a lie. He knew where Jillyanna was currently staying but he wasn't telling them. He knew Jillyanna was going to leave but base on his observation, she's most likely to leave after a week.

Savannah and Hawk was about to leave when Savannah turned around and asked her another question.

"Is she the one who named the cafe?" Lucian knew what she meant but he denied the question.

"Nope. My wife named the cafe. Jillyanna hates doing business." Another lie. Jillyanna named the cafe after her mother's last name but there's no way he would tell them that.

For some reason, he felt that the issue about Jillyanna having a baby with their friend wasn't that simple.

He immediately called and informed her about what happened. "The man you hooked up with has connections."

"I know. He works with a lot of people but I didn't know I'd actually find such trouble. Anyway, thanks for covering up my existence." Jillyanna stuffed another bag with her clothes.

"When are you planning to tell us? If they didn't come today, we'd never find out." There was sadness in his voice but Jillyanna didn't mind it.

"I was planning to tell you guys before leaving. How would I know that they'd come and ruin my surprise?"

"Surprise my ass! I know you'd never do that." Lucian chuckled and changed the subject. "Be careful around you. Make sure to always bring your phone no matter where you are."

"I know. I know. I'll be fine." Jillyanna answered to stop his nagging at her.

They talked for quite a while with safety precautions and health measure. Jillyanna made sure to take note of everything and bring the books with her.

Travis went back to work as usual but his priority was to find Jillyanna as soon as possible. He postponed all the meeting for upcoming projects until he found her.

The investigation about his auntie's daughter was going smoothly and the private investigator mentioned that they would be able to get all the result next week as the earliest. After all, they were investigating the background of more than a hundred of different women.

Travis had someone stationed at the cafe to see if Jillyanna would come and report to him. He also asked Brown to send someone and check the apartment for him.

He remembered the first address that Jillyanna left at the hotel and also asked someone to check over the place. He wasn't leaving any place unturned.

"Found her! Boss we found the car you describe and it matches the description and the plate number." a man wearing a white shirt and a baseball cap reported to Travis.

He immediately asked for the address and was stunned to know that it was the first address that he knew, the place that Diego said it was owned by Mr. Anton Xavier.

"Don't leave the house and wait for me. Don't let her go away." He ended the call and left his office immediately.

The employees were surprised when they saw their boss running anxiously along the hallway to the elevator door.

Meanwhile...

Jillyanna was on her way back to her house after talking to Jenny about the house and the plants when she saw someone lurking around her house.

She hid herself behind the bushes and observed the person. She saw him call someone and report his findings. Jillyanna kept her calm and waited for few more minutes.

The man approached her car and check the plate number. She didn't make any noise and walked around to an area where he couldn't spot her. She wanted to alarm her neighbors but she saw four cars coming making her stop with her actions.

"Holy crap!" she whispered a curse when she saw Travis came out of the car. And what was unexpected was the woman and the other man he was with.

She would never forget Savannah whom she fought with at the cemetery. The other man, whom she didn't know the name, was also with her during the night that they bumped at the pharmacy. He didn't come out of the car but she clearly saw him observing her from the side mirror of the car.

"They knew each other? What the hell? How did he figure out that I live here?" Jillyanna mumbled before walking back to Jenny's house while hiding herself using the bushes.

"Sis, why are you back?" Jenny asked upon seeing her.

"I saw some people who wanted to take me and marry someone by force. They aren't really bad guys but I don't want to marry anyone. Can you help me tell them that I left already?" Jillyanna plead to the young girl. She knew Travis won't lay a hand on the youth, that's why she wanted her to go to her place.

"I just need to let them know that you left, right?" Jenny clarified.

"Yes."

Jenny was running towards the house as if she was shocked to see someone trespassed the place.

"What are you doing here?" she asked with her hands on her hips.

"Do you know Jillyanna Madrid?" Travis asked directly at her. Jenny thought that the man in front of her was strikingly handsome and was a perfect match to Jillyanna but she didn't give in.

"I know her. However, she left this morning with her suitcases. I was entrusted to look after the house. Don't trespass here." She had her arms wide open as if it would keep them away.

"Do you perhaps know where she's going?" Travis asked without any hope at all. Jenny felt sorry for him but she didn't want to let Jillyanna down.

"She didn't tell me where she's going but she mentioned to me that she'll see Eiffel Tower soon. I think it's in France." she looked so innocent that they never doubt her answers.

Travis left immediately while giving orders to his men to see if Jillyanna really left for Paris.
