45 BACK TO THE RENTED HOUSE

Travis had been restless for a whole week trying to find her, no decent work was done and many projects were pending while waiting for his approval. This night, he was able to relax from exhaustion. His tired eyes with dark circles underneath made Jillyanna felt a bit pity on him.

She was lying on her hospital bed while Travis sat on the chair beside her bed. His hand was still holding hers as he lay his head on her bed. His eyes were closed but Jillyanna was still awake trying to think of a different escape plan.

"You have to stop pursuing me. We can't be together." Jillyanna whispered to him while giving him a sad look even though he can't hear what she said.

She tried getting back her hand but Travis woke up with a bit of panic, clear in his eyes. "Are you okay?" He asked her even though he was still sleepy.

"I am fine. It's just...my...my hand was a bit numb." Travis smiled awkwardly but he didn't release her hand at all.

"Can you promise me that you won't escape? I would really go insane if I lose you again." Travis was really sincere with his words but Jillyanna would always remember the words he uttered to Diego the last time she visited his house.

She forcefully took back her hand and rubbed her wrist to relieve it from being numb. "You don't really have to pretend with me. Do you need anything from me? I'm willing to help you as long as you will allow me to keep the baby. I won't tell anyone who the father is. Your future wife won't know about this."

Travis was dumb speechless from her words. His voice was dripping cold when he responded to her. "I want you to be my wife, will you help me fulfill it? You can keep the baby as well."

"We can't do that. I can't promise you a marriage out of convenience. I am not that type of person. Anything but marriage."

"Why?" He sat up straight, staring directly into her hazel nut eyes.

"I know you don't like me. Are you perhaps after my child?"

"My feelings aren't for you to decide whether it's true or not. With or without the child, I would look for you even if I have to travel around the globe."

Jillyanna was surprised to hear his conviction but she didn't say anything. She just smiled helplessly at him before turning her back on him. Whatever lie he's spouting, Jillyanna knew the truth - Travis didn't like her.

Travis watched her lonely back. He remembered what Jenny said to him at the apartment. 'Did I really do something that hurt her without my knowledge? Is it because I am always busy? Is it because of what we talked during our dinner last week? Is she upset that I liked someone with the same name as her? I don't really know.'

He covered her with the blanket properly and remained silent. Valkyrie sent his laptop earlier so he can do work while staying with her. He pulled up his laptop and tried working as much as he can while watching her sleep.

The next day, Travis processed her paper works to discharge her from the hospital. Many women were shock from the news after seeing his name on the guardian portion. A name that made people admire and fear at the same time was actually with someone pregnant.

"It couldn't be his wife, right?" a nurse whispered while placing the paper works inside the drawer.

"Who knows? Rich people would sometimes marry in secret." another nurse answered.

"She's a very lucky woman."

"I am so excited for their baby."

"I want to see the woman."

People were intrigued to know who the woman was but Jillyanna didn't care at all. They thought she was lucky but Jillyanna thought otherwise.

For her, meeting Travis was the unluckiest time of her life.

Savannah came with Hawk, bringing her a change of clothes. A sweet smile was hanging on her lips when she got inside.

"It's nice to see you again. I never thought you're the woman that Travis hid away from us." Savannah stated while giving Travis side glance with a raised eyebrow.

"I am not the woman you think of. I have no relationship to your friend." Jillyanna responded before reaching out for the clothes that Savannah gave.

Travis just shrugged his shoulder before going out of the room with Hawk. "Did you offend your woman? Is it just my imagination or does she hate you?" Hawk asked Travis when they're out.

"I don't know why but I also think she hates me." Travis admitted not just to Hawk but to himself as well. He had his hands inside his trouser's pocket while leaning his back on the wall.

"You need to pacify her. I can see that she's not someone who depends on anyone and there's a high chance that she would escape once again."

"I know. I have asked Valkyrie to strengthen the security in my rented house."

"You're still going to stay in that house?" Hawk was in disbelief. It would be better and safer to stay in the mansion but he wanted to stay in that rented house? That was really unexpected from someone like Travis who live extravagantly. For the woman, he was willing to live a humble yet secure life.

After a while, Jillyanna came out with Savannah following behind her. Travis took her bag from her and they walked out of the building like a normal couple. She was rather calm while walking in the middle of the group but her brain was working like a computer, counting the number of cars and the people who was asked to keep guard.

"We're going back to my house." Travis pulled her back from her reverie.

"This can be considered kidnapping." she stated clearly but he didn't flinched or show any change in emotions. "Can I go back to my apartment instead?"

"Nope. You can file a complaint against me but I will just tell them that you are my fiancee with a child."

'Shameless! So shameless! Well, I can still escape from his house though.' Jillyanna thought. Travis mistook her silence into agreement so he just brought her back to his rented house with several cars following them.
