5 The change and truth

She just knew what to do she didn't really feel any emotions right now. She felt her connection to him but she didn't concentrate on it. The important part was to do what they wanted. She was supposed to make the full change in him something that's going to be with Shortie to the end of his life and maybe he is going to be mad at her because of it. Nefertiri just knew that deep inside him, he's really sweet and innocent even if he may be some jokester with his friends. She was aware that he needed the money from this game to help his mother, she has had three jobs and they weren't enough. His father went missing or maybe he left them to keep them safe from the hunters after him. She doesn't care. Taking his face in her hands she sank her nails in his smooth skin to have better contact to his DNA. This is going to take a tool on her body strength. She started to work to fully wake up his till hours ago completely hidden gene. Such a waste, his father made a mistake to hide it so deep in him. Shortie should be what he really is and not play some I'm human game. That's what you call unawares of your true self. Anyway it's quite interesting that it didn't awaken even a bit after the danger he was exposed to. She concentrated even more than before and used her whole strength to do what she was supposed to. Nefertiri felt her nose bleeding from exhaustion but she just couldn't stop right now it is a very crucial moment. Shortie is going to change drastically and it's going to be painful. She knew that if he's going to start screaming they are going to be in really big troubles so she cut off his vocal cords. Shortie started trembling and sweating profusely but he couldn't make a noise. After some time everything ceased and hopefully he's going to survive. Slowly he got higher, he's hair was still black but he's skin was a little bit more darker than before. He started to wake up. Nefertiri didn't expect it to be so fast but he's body is even better than before.

"What… happened?"

"Can you tell me what do you remember?" Nefertiri just wanted to make sure she can steal for more time.

"The mall, being infected and wounded really badly. I though I was going to dye right there. It was really weird afterward. Someone talked to me, said something that we are one finally."

Uh oh what to do? There was a knocking sound coming from the door, then it just opened not waiting for an answer.

The curly hair was in a really bad state and the girl didn't even look better but she nodded.

"Sooo you're not human anymore." Scar was the one to break the ice.

Shortie didn't say anything still processing if we were joking but I guess that his dragon was explaining things to him.

"And you're not joking are you?" He was really serious.

"Sadly we are not." Said Nefertiri

"If I see it right you're not humans either." He just stated looking lifeless.

"Of course not! Do you think that this whole greatness comes from human genes?" Ruby was of course boasting about her being pretty and what not.

Shortie started to laugh, Nefertiri was still analyzing the situation and came to the answer that he's taking it very well.

"What I really need to know is if this comes from my mothers side." He just stated but he was really serious it was so weird to see such a Shortie. Nefertiri was spacing out thinking about Him and the feeling of their connection. Someone slapped her in her arm to wake her up from daydreaming.

"What?"

"From which family side is the gene?" Asked Ruby smiling as if she won something hitting her.

"Fathers."

"Oh that explains why he's not with us."

"Actually it doesn't." Said Scar.

"He was being hunted so he sealed your dragon and the gene." Explained Nefertiri.

She was just hoping that he's not going to blame someone who wanted to protect him even if he's going to hurt both mother and son.

"We don't even know your name." Butted in Scar.

"Misha, my name is Misha."

"So it's Misha and Thanatos." Whispered to herself the white haired girl.

Misha was looking really shocked about the fact that she knew the name of his dragon.

"That's not weird you have to wait till she really says something odd." Ruby didn't wait for this really good chance to make fun of her.

"Should I say I can't wait to whiteness it?"

"Don't worry you are going to." Said Scar convinced about the fact that he's going to stay with them.

"Thanatos is saying that from now on I'm your guardian till you don't destroy the facility."

"Nefertiri, why do you always get the good ones?" Ruby wasn't happy that she didn't get her dragon in a shining armor.

"I didn't ask for it."

"I bet you did."

"No, I didn't."

"Whatever floats your boat."

Nefertiri didn't take it to heart because she knew that Ruby has her defensive mode on and there's no day without it.

"We need to get out of here before they notice the changes." Reminded them Scar.

"Holy guacamole I forgot."

"It's not new." Ruby mocked the blue eyed girl.

"If I didn't have to hear all of those conversations it would be different."

They started to fight again but there couldn't be said that they are bad friends since that would be lying.

"Girls let's stop this nonsense! We need a wheelchair!"

"Ok, ok I'm going to get one." Ruby was ready to go out of the room but Nefertiri has other plans.

She started to whisper in the ancient language of the elves closing her eyes and concentrating, she touched with her pointing finger Misha's head and then he looked just as before.

"But you still need to convince the crazy doctors that you're going home and no one is going to stop you from doing it."
