35 Peace

The next days were peaceful so Nefertiri didn't worry about anything it would be pointless anyway. Destroying their base was important too but she needs to start from something small to make it big. She didn't want to be caught doing something that could bring her trouble so she stayed with Zidite or with the new priestesses. It was really nice to see young people wanting to work in this kind of profession. In her tribe it was the worst thing to happen to someone. It was a weird though that the tribes are so different in many aspects. Her Lord didn't or better said couldn't change their peoples views change for the better because the people didn't really know anything. They were losing themselves just like it happened here. Maybe the older generation took the right step for them to find salvation so it would be good if something could happen in her tribe for them to think differently. She was already planning of cutting of their funds that they get from her to live a nice life doing nothing. It was the time to end it if they don't respect her anyway why let them freeload drom her. She was not going to announce it either. Almost everyone of them is equal in status if they don't work for their own money and just spend hers.

"Zidite."

"Hmm."

"Do you think it's not going to be too rude from me to not pay for their expenses?"

Zidite looked at his wife and smiled gently trying to reassure her.

"Not at all. I think they don't even deserve the money you give them. If they hate you anyway then they shouldn't be taking your money for granted."

"I know that you're right but I wanted to take care of my tribe even if I'm not the Lord but you know that my status is not lower than him."

"I know."

"Then I'm going to do it."

"Mmmm do it I'm by your side."

Nefertiri smiled at him happily thinking on how much money she is going to save just from this small step or maybe it is not small at all. She dialed the phone number from her secretary and after a short conversation she ended the call feeling free. It was a little bit weird but maybe she needed to do this. If she leaves them be they are not going to learn a thing. How could they think that they can just take her money and freeload from her while they loathed her. Their hate so strong that the air in her tribe gets contaminated just in seconds that they think about her existence.

"I'm going to let them take care of themselves. Isn't it wonderful?"

"It is." Zidites eyes were sparkling with many emotions when he was looking at her right now. He just couldn't help himself to not get aroused when he saw her like this. Her playful look was really pleasant and when he saw it in combination with some of her mischief it was even better. He was aware that she isn't just being playful there was some dangerous undertone in her voice but he just though it's good for her to have a strong backbone.

"Let's go to look around."

"You want to go sightseeing again?" He asked still smiling wanting to tease her.

"I didn't get the chance the other time. Your dear grandfather came back don't you remember?"

He stood up and took out his hand for her to take and she didn't hesitate when she took his big hand. She was feeling rather happy.

"Let's go." He squeezed her hand lightly and started walking with her just beside him.

Some of the elves in the village were looking at them with some sparks in their eyes. The were feeling younger again just by looking at them acting so warmly.

"I really like it here better." She muttered under her breath for no one particular to hear it was just a stated fact.

"That's good then we can visit regularly." Nefertiri looked at Zidite surprised but it didn't take her long to smile at him.

Looking at his face not showing any particular emotion wasn't new to her because she was able to see the warmth in his eyes. For others it may seem that he was just emotionless but she knew better.

"Say can I see here something beautiful?"

"Hmmm." He wasn't going to tell her about the beautiful view because sometimes there are needs for surprises. He was trying really hard for her not to hear what he was thinking. Being aware that their connection was getting stronger was just a blessing for disguise.

"But first I want to eat some pastries that are typically done in your tribe. Let's go!" She was going in front of him strutting happily still holding his hand not thinking about letting him go.

There was some sweetness in Zidites heart slowly spreading making him warm up.

After walking through the streets Nefertiri was feeling really good it was a weird feeling of something fulfilling inside of her. In her youth she couldn't really enjoy the food she wanted or play around in her tribe. Everything went downhill after her awakening. Everyone was hopping to be really powerful or to have strong children but when it happens to someone else then it's not a joyous event anymore. Isn't it petty and weird. She didn't want to think about it anymore so she concentrated on her husband. She noticed just now that he was looking at her knitting his eyebrows thinking deeply of something or so she though till she felt him reaching to her with his mind. It wasn't painful it was just something natural to them. She let him roam free to see whatever he wanted she wasn't going to hide from him. Sharing things with him was liberating it's good to be honest with your other half.
