22 Connection

What they didn't fathom was that Cecile couldn't detect anything abnormal. There was no scent of chemicals or drugs there was nothing that she could catch as a smell that didn't belong to the labyrinth.

"This is so weird." She murmured to herself.

"What is it?" Scar asked really interested.

"I don't detect anything. The smell is just of the plants and earth and whatever beings belong here."

"You mean bugs right?" Said Ruby annoyed.

Cecile looked at her with a reprimanding look but didn't say anything to the comment.

"Let's just go." Said Misha. He wanted to be done with this whole thing and look for his kind.

"Then let's go." Approved Nefertiri. "Look our for everyone. Try not to get distracted if you notice something weird just tell it even if you think your having some hallucinations."

"Got it." Everyone else replied.

They went inside and at the first turns didn't notice anything unusual but the started to lose orientation after one of the many turns. When they really though that they don't even feel which side is East or West that was just plainly put weird. Nefertiri got it even stronger. The voices were not happy they were screaming and discussing so she got a headache and prayed for it to stop. From time to time she though she saw something, some figure but the whole world in her eyes was spinning.

"I think I saw something." She said unsure.

"Where?" Nefertiri didn't even know who asked.

"I don't know. Everything is moving." She replied. She swayed from one side to another when she started to walk again and her friends all saw that this situation is really bad.

"Nefertiri, how many fingers am I showing?" Scar showed three fingers to her bud she actually started to count them and couldn't say a number because when she though there are just six there appeared even more of them!

"Like eighteen? I'm not sure. Why do you have so many of them?"

"Guys I think that this situation is going to turn worse." Cecile said everyone's thoughts out loud.

"Do you think that she got another of those headaches?" Scar was concerned.

"I don't know." Answered Cecile.

"Maybe we should call Zidite he's just outside." Misha wanted someone to take care properly of Nefertiri.

"It's a good idea." Scar approved.

"I just remembered that I don't have his number."

"You have to be joking!" Ruby was getting more and more annoyed.

"Let me take her phone." Cecile tried to appease the situation. She searched and looked every single place that she though of but couldn't find it. "She doesn't have her phone with her." Cecile couldn't believe this.

"This whole situation is just getting better." Misha commented.

Nefertiri was trying to stop this from happening. The voices to come trough to her and the swaying but then she understood one thing. This is not completely happening because of her, this is happening because of the failed experiment. The person is seeing just like her. Maybe it's even under drugs and is scared. She tried to concentrate more on the feeling she was getting.

"Scar! I think… I think I know what's happening to me so stop to quarrel with each other and help me." She even looked right in her eyes to prove her point. "Come. All of you. We need to make a circle." She instructed slowly getting to where she wanted. "The most important thing is to concentrate on this poor persons feelings. It's not far away from us. Observing us quietly and trying to figure out what's happening to it."

The green scenery was getting darker and colder with the time flowing so she just could ask Ruby to stop it to gain some time.

"Nefertiri there could be consequences of me stopping the time." Ruby complained flipping her hair to the side.

"Be quiet and do it. I want to get out of here alive."

"Whatever."

Nonetheless she still did what she was told to do. The wind stopped to blow and the creature was under Ruby's control of it wanted to move.

Nefertiri instructed them what to do next and they connected to everything around them. She got another plan for this creature than Demise. Let's just fake it's death Andre it work for her to take its revenge on them. That would be just perfect. She filtered and divided all their energies to their eyes so they could see even with closed eyes. Then she started to chant. Not knowing when their shoes were gone and there was a fire burning in the middle. There was smoke that was supposed to cleanse their surroundings and there were fireflies flying around them. The cicada sounds were calming but her chanting was the most important. It made them feel the adrenalin rushing through them so they danced to her rhythm. Their feet were dirty because of the bare earth without gras and their hair was disheveled because of the wind blowing like a current of energy rushing to them to absorb it. Nefertiris eyes were glowing a violet light her gaze was empty too concentrated on her task to let them connect to the creature. When she was almost done she took the dirty earth and smeared all of them making some weird marks on their faces but they didn't say anything because it would be futile to understand what she was doing before the thing could work. After she was done everything went back to normal where they still stood in a circle but the only difference was that they were barefoot and had some drawings on their faces that was fusing slowly with their skin.
