19 Backlash?!

In the next second Zidite was already in the room he didn't know did that happen but when he said that the conference is going to be postponed and when he got out he was already back at home.

"Nefertiri…" His haze showed how worried he was he cupped her face in his hands gently and he felt the sparks but her skin was cold.

In the next second her body moved and she touched his forehead. It was as if the time stopped and he started to feel sick his world swayed and everything went black.

Scar was left there wondering what's going on or if something went really wrong. But she could just sit and wait so she called Keliah to accompany her.

In the mean time Zidite and Nefertiri meet at some weird place that couldn't be even described with words. She was so worried at first but her worries dissolved when she saw him.

"My beautiful daughter." She heard from behind her a woman's voice.

She turned around and saw her mother.

"Mom." Her eyes turned red as she smiled.

"Don't forget about your old man."

"Of course not dad." The man standing beside the woman had pointing ears too just like them but the air around him was similar to Nefertiri.

"It's nice seeing you again my darling. I didn't think you're going to find your soulmate so fast." The man smiled at his daughter.

They hugged each other and Nefertiri could say there was something wrong with what was happening.

"Mom, dad tell my what's wrong?" Her mother looked at her father worriedly.

"It's nothing major it's just that after you connected your lifeline with Zidite you awakened the blood of the gods in you."

Zidite didn't say anything all the while looking at her as if there weren't other people beside her in his eyes. But hearing what was said he just didn't expect that.

"What… do you mean father? Should I know about something."

"Your godly side is going to wake up slowly and your mate is going to be part of it. Both of you are going to turn in gods if everything goes appropriately."

Nefertiri heard in her head an explosion, she looked at Zidite to see his reaction but saw nothing abnormal just a loving gaze lingering on her almost unblinking.

"Hubby~ what should we do?" She felt threatened a little bit.

"Just wait for the process to end." He gave her a peck on her lips.

"It's going to be a trial to the both of you. If you're too long apart it can kill you. That's the backlash."

Zidites eyes shifted with some malice in it. He couldn't bear to see his wife suffer and if they're not careful enough she's going to be in pain. How could he be at ease.

"Zidite don't worry we are going to make it through."

"The both of you are going to be inseparable for a while. You have to reassure each other that everything is going to be good even if you are not going to see each other for a moment."

Nefertiri felt a head ache coming, she held her forehead with her hand.

"Little fox everything is going to be just fine."

He hugged her to himself and she already felt better. Is this already happening? This is going to be just great.

"I hope we can meet in the future again when you gain the necessary power. Farewell my daughter. Take care of her Zidite."

They didn't say anything to him till now addressing him personally.

"You don't have to worry."

Then they got back just like that. They got many things to think of.

When Nefertiri woke up she held her aching head.

"I didn't drink anything and yet my head hurts so much. Zidite wake up!" She slapped his arm but he didn't react. She started to panic. Scar heard her from the kitchen and started running to her but she didn't even notice her presence. "What should I do? For the love of the gods what's happening?!" She touched his face with her finger and then saw his eyeballs move slowly so she touched his skin with hers.

"Nefertiri… don't be scared everything's just fine." He whispered slowly. "This darkness afterwards was holding me captive and I couldn't react without you. It was as if you were not with me and I didn't just feel anything I needed you to touch me with your bare skin touching mine to feel alive."

Scar was just standing there with Keliah wondering what's going between the two of them.

"At first I though something was happening to you or our bond was being rejected. Then I though that's impossible because we already completed the fusing of our lifelines. This feeling that I felt was just so weird and bad. I just understand now that it was the backlash. Everything is my fault! You're going to suffer because of me Zidite…"

Her eyes got red and she almost started crying and she was sniffing the hole time holding it in.

Zidite took her in his arms and hugged tightly giving her a feeling that he's not going to let her go even if he's going to die. He kissed the top of her head. He knew that this woman was strong and most of the time unfeeling so seeing her in this state made his heart feel painful.

"You don't have to worry about me. We are going to get through this together remember? We should stay near each other and take care of each other."

He started reassuring her that everything is going to be alright.

Scar was moved by the scene she was witnessing and took her leave after she said her goodbyes but she wasn't sure if the couple got it. The couple needed their time together to sort things out.

She was holding her mates hand feeling really happy.
