1 Chapter 1: Charles

On a hazy morning in a luxury cabin surrounded by a plain of tall, wildly untamed grass. There lay a boy, by the name of Charles. Charles was coming to a start and preparing for his first day as a 16 year old.

He awoke with a start and arose with swagger as he yawned,

"Ah, what a wonderful way to start my day!"

Charles got off his bed as he prepared his materials to hunt for his breakfast.

"Bag... check, dagger... check, freakishly long sword I like to call Ted... hm, where'd that go?" Suddenly, a thought sprang up in Charles mind as he remembered the occurrences of yesterday. Yesterday he had been attacked by a pack of wolves, and had slashed Tom in their direction, however, because of Tom's size and the sheer difficulty of wielding such a long weapon, (estimated to be around 1.75 feet long) he missed and hit the dirt instead as a result, all he had instead was a sword stuck in the dirt, a dagger only really useful for sneak attacks and a bag full of wonderful meat which these wolves desired so badly. After Charles' missed strike the wolf realized its inferiority, and shied away from Charles in fear, relinquishing any thoughts of greed. Charles whipped out his dagger, the weapon he was most accustomed to, as it was shorter, he did not have much difficulty wielding it. He stabbed at the wolf who had realized its inferiority and pierced through it's throat, blood oozing straight from the wound unto his dagger. Sadly for this wolf, it hadn't even had a chance to howl for assistance from its pack. After seriously evaluating his situation, Charles decided that it was best he escaped from this danger before it cost him for it. Charles made a full run sprint for it, knowing he was no match for these wolves, he knew there were only so many opportunities before he would be badly wounded, & looked for somewhere safe to hide. Before he could finish his escapade, however, he felt a violent searing pain in his tendon, only to find to his demise, one of the wolves had noticed what happened and streaked after him in interest.

Charles immediately took the chance of this opportunity to stab the wolf in the eye, which was easy in close quarters. After stabbing The vile beast in its beady evil eye, he viciously twisted the dagger and picked its eye out, never giving it the chance to see what happened again. The wolf released his leg in pain, and the wound being exposed to open air led to Charles screaming in pain after the adrenaline left his body. Noticing the situation he was in ,Charles limped toward his cabin as the wolf aimlessly ran into a tree in an attempt to escape from Charles' wrath. Charles then remembered blacking out, and before he did, he could see the silhouette of a man rushing towards him calling out to him.

Once Charles realized how strange it was for his leg to not hurt at all after that vicious bite at his tendon, he looked down and did not see any bite marks or any sort of scar. He suddenly felt a prick on his neck and everything went black once more.
