Promotion Exams

For the next few weeks school was serious more than ever..

No one wanted to be a drop out. No, not after coming this far. Three years of studying and now it was time to show your worth.

Although there were monthly Tests and other exams, this was the most important of all. Every student now took his or her studies seriously. Even the bullies knew better.

Rye hasn't been disturbing Kyle for sometime now, he definitely didn't want any distractions. Kyle had always been the brainy type so it wasn't much of a difference if he studied hard or not, but he did any way..

The time for the exams came.. soon they would be heading to command School which was said to be in space. In school this last few days was short, no much activities.

The exams lasted for three hectic days. To some these were three horrible days as they were faced with the risk of being dropped out of the academy.

Exams were over and results were to be announced the following week, Monday to be precise. So all the students could do was anticipate with the hopes of making it to Command school.

During this period James and Kyle had bonded and could now be referred to as friends. They came to school almost everyday together, ate lunch together, read together even left school together.

During this time the dou learnt a lot about each other and Kyle found out that James was also brilliant. Kyle and Rye were in the A arm, while James was in the D arm.

He developed his love for planes since he was a toddler and looked forward to becoming one. Well he was in luck for the current status of the planet only made it better. He wasn't just going to fly planes but could fly ships! well depending on how successful he becomes in Command school.

Unlike Kyle, James lived with his aunt and had no other relatives. He too was a victim of the incident that happened some years back as he lost his parents. He was the only child of his parents at that time thus leaving him alone. His aunt had immediately taken him in and had ever since played the role of a parent.

He was devastated at first but resulted to studying hard. Gaining admission into the Academy with the aim of taking revenge on these creatures that stole his parents.

He too had been keeping to himself, until he met Kyle.. Well not officially but through one of his encounters with Rye. There was something about Kyle that he couldn't put a finger on, so he resulted to introducing himself and here they were... Friends!

It was a Friday and the two of them are currently walking home, debating on one topic...

"What if I pass and you don't?" James asked visibly concerned..

"what if I do and you don't?" Kyle said smiling

"man forget that, I know I did better than you. I mean.. you didn't even study that much" James said this time smiling

"and how do you know..? what if I did study? what if we don't pass?" Kyle said

"hey don't say that.." James said immediately

"what? you scared..?" Kyle said laughing

"of course am scared, I'd definitely get my ass whooped if I don't.." replied James looking serious

"okay, okay how about this I pass and you don't.." Kyle said this time not being able to contain his laughter any more..

"Man you're just being a prick, it might turn out to be the opposite you know.."

"well guess we'll find out by Monday.." Kyle said on reaching his destination

"guess we will.." said James realising that his companion had reached his house

"So.. see you Sunday?"

"Yeah, Sunday... Break a leg" Kyle said entering his house...
