'We arrived in Republic of Padokea, it took us 3 days by airship to arrive. After that, we took the bus to the Zoldyck family Estate

and saw the Zoldyck family's pet, Miku, eating away people who were trying to invade the estate. That was quite a sight.

But it just shows that Zoldyck family is family of monsters and the testing gate is quite an interesting thing. If I tried, I could probably open until the 2nd door,

the 3rd one would be hard

and I'm not confident that I could do it. Well, I still wanted to try it,

however, I will not do it. First, I want to train. Status.

'So, how can I master it?'

(It depends from person to person. Some can get it through training, others can get it when their willpower is strong enough or even through near death situations. I really can't help you with this one.) She said in a dejected voice.

'Huff. It doesn't matter. For now I will join Gon, Kurapika and Leorio in training with weights. I never trained with such things, so I'm rather curious to see if I can even become stronger with it.' I thought.

20 days later.

'Me and Vergo have been training daily, almost without restraint. The weights increased my strenght, however, not by much. Maybe if I had heavier weights, the training could have been more productive. Well I ended up opening 3 doors of the testing gates when I just trying to see how far can I get.

Kurapika saw me doing this and was quite pissed off with me. However, I ended up turning the tables on him and told him that they need to open the gates by themselves or they will end up getting in my way.

It took them 20 days until they were able to open the 1st gate. After this, we met up with Canary and I am seeing, probably, Gon's worst beating. He keep trying to cross the line she is defending and she keep beating him back. He literally didn't give up for hours by now.

I didn't interfere because it is Gon's wish to do things in this way. And I respect that. In a hand I'm slowly beginning to think if I should kill Gon. In my future plans, I don't really need Gon, however, is it really worth to piss of Ging? According to Netero, he is one of the top 5 Nen users.

I don't think that he would be happy if I killed his son. In the end I think I will still need him, at least, until the Chimera Ants Arc.' I snapped out of my thought and saw Canary giving up on continuing Gon's beating.

But before we can even start a conversation, she got headshoted by Killua's mother, Kikyo. She appeared out of nowhere before she screamed. "Killua doesn't want to see any of you!" Then, she turned around and ran away with her son, Kalluto, following her.

I took the opportunity that Gon is distracted with Canary and followed right behind her.

'She is quite an interesting woman, I wouldn't mind having her in my family.' I thought.

(You really need to stop trying to recruit everyone you see.) She said.

I was following right behind Kalluto before arriving in a huge mansion on the top of the mountain. Suddenly, both Kalluto and Kikyo dissapeared completly. At this moment, I turned to Vergo and said. "Get ready. Something is not right."

'Nyarlathotep, get a portal ready should we need to retreat.' I also told her.

(The portal is ready, however, it is too late.) She said.

'What do you mean...' When I asked that, I looked at the top of the building and saw buttlers.

A lot of them. And since they were hired by the Zoldyck, I highly doubt that they don't know Nen.

"Vergo, we are going to retreat." But before I could do anything, I felt two hands on my shoulders.

This made me open my eyes wide. "How?" I unconsciously asked and turned my head to look at who was holding me down.

And the one I saw was Zeno Zoldyck. He was the one holding both of my shoulders. The worst thing is that it doesn't matter how much strenght I use, I cannot even budge his hands.

"Sunglasses boy, do not move. If you do, I will break this kid's neck before you can even think." Zeno warned him.

Vergo, following his warning, stopped any unecessary movement.

"What do you want with our family?" He directed this question to me.

'I was naive. I thought that as long as Nyarlathotep had the portal ready, we could always retreat, independently of how much danger we were in. I thought that we had a safety net, which was the ability to get out of this world.

However, zeno just showed me that he can literally come into my personal space without me even feeling it. His speed and his stealth are on a another level.' I thought of how foolish I was before I told him. "We are here for Killua."

"Little boy, you shouldn't lie. If you were here for Killua, you would have followed right behind the other group and went to the Buttler's Mansion. That way you would have a better chance at succeding on your mission. The main reason why you split up is because you had different interests." He pointed out.

'He really is a crafty old man. His deduction skills are pretty good. He was completely right. Lying here will do me no good. It will only backfire. I don't want to risk it. My life is on the old man's hands. If I lie and he finds out, I will probably die.' A smile appeared on my lips.

"Fufufufufufufu." My laugh surprised Zeno since the monstrous grips that was on my shoulders decreased "Fine. You won. I am after a crystal that the Zoldyck family should have."

"Hmm. Follow me." I heard him saying before he released my shoulders.

Then, he moved his hand and all of the buttlers dispersed, before he placed his hands behind his back. I simply followed him into the mansion. We walked down creepy hallways and I saw that everything inside the house was really luxurious, not at the same level as the Gremory but still something amazing.

The problem is the positioning of the things. It looks more like a haunted house than a place that people can actually call home. I followed Zeno until we arrived in a room that was decorated with golden dragons and it gave a chinese feeling to it, like a emperor's room.

Zeno sitting on a bench and pointed at an chair. "Sit." Following what he said, I sat on the chair in front of him.

Is this the crystal that you wanted?" He asked before he showed us a red crystal that was shining brightly.

(Yep, that is one.) Nyarlathotep said.

"It indeed is this crystal." I answered.

"The Zoldyck family got this one from the Dark Continent. A member of the family, Zigg Zoldyck, followed Netero and he kept the crystal even though it is completely useless to us, since we cannot force it to work. It doesn't matter what type of method we try, we were never able to open it." He commented.

"It is impossible to open it by normal means." I told him.

"Here, you can have it." He said before he threw the red crystal at me.

Catching it, I looked at him surprised and asked. "Are you sure? After all, it is quite valuable." I squinted.

It is useless to our family. Besides I want you to leave and I never kill if I am not getting paid for it." He said.

I leaned on the chair and asked Nyarlathotep. 'Will I get a lot stronger with this crystal?'

(You will get stronger, however, the crystal will not give you Nen or the experience needed to fight.) She told me the hard facts.

This made me clench my hand. Looking at Zeno, I got up and went near him. Then I bowed my head and asked. "Teach me." While I said that, there were other things on my head. 'I'm not prideful. In reality, I don't give a shit about pride. I would do anything to become stronger, even if it means to throw my pride away. I would humiliate myself if that means that I would have a chance of becoming powerful. Pride is only for those who have strenght and, while it is frustrating, I am weak. Both in this world and back home.' My head stood low the entirety of my thoughts.

"I'm not a teacher and I'm not interested in becoming one." He said.

"Please. I need to become stronger." I looked at his eyes.

"I'm not interested in becoming a teacher." He refused again.

I gripped the crystal with even more strength. "Please." I begged once more.

"Hahahahaha. Fine, I will train you. However, on two conditions. 1st, I will train only you. YouYour subordinates, the sunglasses will have to rest on the butter's mansion and maybe they will train him. Who knows. 2nd, you are going to own a favor to the Zoldick family. One that we can claim whenever we want." He offered.

"Fine by me but I need to ask him." I answered.

After this, I went to confirm with Vergo if he accepted this deal too.

'In the end, Vergo also accepted, after all, we need to become stronger. The Hunter Exam was a good wake up call that cannot be ignored.' While I was thinking, Zeno gave me a key. "It is your room's. You just need to walk down the hallway and find the same number as the key." He said this before he turned around and walked away.

Following his intructions, I find my room. Then I entered in it before laying down on the bed and thinking. 'Nyarlathotep, absorb the crystal.'

(Okay.) She said before I placed the crystal on chest, when I did this, the crystal was sucked to inside my chest.

'Hmm. I feel a little bit stronger but not much.' I commented.

(Finally! Now I can actually give you decent rewards.) She said before I felt something on my left hand.

Looking at what it was, I saw that a weirdly shaped fruit was on it. And a book also appeared on my other hand.

"Ehm. Is this what I think it is?" I asked her.

(Yes, this is your reward. Onee-chan made it with all of my love.) She said.

I only looked at my hands. Clearly in disbelief. Suddenly, I cpuld feel my lips curling into a smile. But the smile was widening until I laughed. "Fufufufu-Hahahahahaha." Like a madman.

(I'm getting wet with my little brother's laughter.) Her comment made me stop laughing.

'Nyarlathotep... You really know how to ruin the mood.' I shaked my head.

(You should rest. After all, you never know when the training will start.) She said.

'Yeah, you are right. But first, I have a fruit to eat.' I looked at the not so delicious fruit in my hand.
