13 First Meeting

One of the senior Jiang "Jiang Chen what is there to do something like that? Now we are dragged into the picture now?" he was just testing Jiang Chen.

Jiang Chen "We would definitely be dragged sooner or latter it is better to choose our entry point so that we have things we can control instead of going in their flow."

He just smiled in response. All others agreed and they know that it would be happening sooner or later.All the younger generation memorized what ever Jiang Chen spoke of and they knew that their future depended on Jiang Chen's actions.

Jiang Yun "When do you think will things unfold?"

Jiang Chen was silent for few minutes then spoke "It has already been 8 years since the great flood came last time, that great flood comes every ten years ,it brings along many water beasts from high mountains. That would bring all kinds of migrating water monsters. So best way to counter them are using cultivators of Wood,Lightning and ice. In River Spring city there are no ice cultivators. So it falls on three minor families under city lord faction and two families of Bai family faction who cultivate wood attribute. Then two lightning attribute cultivators City lord and Bai family mistress Ning Chen."

Jiang Chen "What ever happens it will happen during that time. They have to gamble everything on who preserve best under the demonic beast horde. All that now depends on who maintains their force longer."

Everyone in Jiang family were silent they already know of this and younger generation were in awe on how much Jiang Chen understands.

After discussing few more things Jiang Chen left to his court yard. Younger generation followed him.

Jiang Chen "You guys continue cultivating and training. Don't forget that rotation training I want you guys to do this every moment you are awake.

Jiang Chen "I need everyone to improve by a grade in three months. You should reach small perfection in all the moves you are training and proceed for next moves." Jiang Chen pointed to the Martial disciples before him.

They nodded it is not impossible for them now. Only challenge was reaching small perfection that would be tough one.

Jiang Chen "Three of you are in already in 9th stage body refinement so take it slow you should consolidate your progress there was in no need to be in rush to catch up with us, your breakthrough best happen naturally."

Every one dispersed after getting Jiang Chen's orders.Jiang Chen set his goals for himself he has to reach small perfection in three of the moves of Lightning tribulation technique. It was an earth ranked technique and has nine moves instead of seven like mortal ranked techniques (Single lightning tribulation , minor three lightning tribulation , 6 lightning tribulation ,9lightning tribulation, earthly thunder tribulation , earthly dragon tribulation ,heavenly major tribulation, heavenly dragon tribulation and heavenly 9 headed dragon tribulation.)

Jiang Chen just smiled reading the list each of it moves are tyrannical Jiang Chen knew at present he can only learn first move and second one for learning third move his reserves won't be sufficient.He should wait till he reach Martial Artist stage.Jiang Chen decided to only practice first move for now for second move he should use his Natal palace to train.

That night Jiang Chen reached third stage of Heavenly god's eye technique that techniques relied on resources mostly to practice it. It was both easy and tough. If some one else has to train on God's eye techniques it would have been impossible for them to even reach 1st as the requirement for it was to apply paste made of 5th stage lightning beast core and other rare herbs and material and apply it on his eyes and cultivate using that technique baptizing it with Light attribute energy continuously till it absorbs all the energy and paste. It looked simple but Jiang Chen has gone through hell to train it to third stage as requirements for each stage was more strict and overbearing. His Aunt has prepared materials for him to practice up to third stage and Jiang Chen know for next stages he has to obtain himself requirements . He needs to find a 7th stage lightning beast Lightning Bird's core ,it was specifically indicated to obtain that material.

With Jiang Chen's gods eye reaching third stage his vision improved significantly , the farthest distance he can see now is over 10miles his vision improved ten times his previous. Then he can see energy fluctuations in the environment .He don't need to specifically sit and cultivate to observe strands now he could see them directly through naked eye. And his perception and observing power are picture perfect he will not miss any of the tiny details. He can even see the meridians of others when he passed light energy to his eyes.

Heavenly God's eye improved both his close combat and ranged combat potential.

Next day Jiang Chen decided to practice tribulation technique in Martial grounds even though Martial ground was constructed by Bai family for different purpose it still encouraged others. It has special partitions for others to train in their specific weapons.

Jiang Chen entered along side Jiang Bingyue and Jiang Lingrou. Jiang Bingyue was always a long range fighter and Lingrou was tested by Jiang Chen as she is more compatible with ranged combat. Jiang Chen borrowed a bow from Jiang family . He did not want to use his Rover Moon wood bow as it is more powerful than normal bows and non the less his Star Bow which was without comparison even more deadly.

As Jiang Chen entered the arena he saw almost everyone were gathered there he could see Bai Mo practicing his sword techniques on a dummy. Ha Ling was using his saber and trying to comprehend something and there was very dense aura around him. Su Mo is using his duel hammers and practicing a particular stance repeatedly.

Jiang Lingrou "Elder brother that girl in Grey robes there ,she is Su Ming." She looked very simple and observing her brother practicing and similarly observing everyone so learn something from everyone .

Jiang Chen "She didn't receive her techniques yet right."

Jiang Lingyue "Yes, patriarch declared that all martial techniques of family are under your control now. So she didn't get any ."

Jiang Lingrue was giggling "Elder brother are you going to give sister in law a suitable technique?"

Jiang Chen "Father instructed me to do so. Lets wait for them to approach." Jiang Chen spoke as his eyes were directed at Su Ming. She looked very beautiful and her simpleness amplified her beauty and gentle expressions on her face indicated she was gentle by nature and and not trying to enact it. There is no doubt she is considered to be one of the great five beauties of River Spring city. As Jiang Chen was observing her she sensed something and found Jiang Chen looking at her and their was a blush on her face,it was natural reaction. She was genuine person. Jiang Chen simply smiled and was about to walk towards corner field where archery was practiced.

Su Ming told Su Mo about Jiang Chen's arrival who jumped down the stage to find Jiang Chen.

Su Mo "Brother Jiang how was your training camp?"

Jiang Chen smiled "It went well all of us made improvements." Su Mo's cultivation improved and he was already 5th stage Martial disciple. Su Mo wanted to have a spar with Jiang Chen but gave up he know Jiang Chen is out of his league.

Jiang Chen "So brother Su is duel hammer wielder ,it suits your style. If I am not wrong you can jump a rank right."

Su Mo was surprised hearing this he never sparred with people of higher level in other words he didn't get a chance to know.So no one knows about it,he made just assumption that he don't have trouble fighting a level above.

Su Mo "Just smiled I don't know brother I never tried my concentration now to reach small perfection in two of my moves." others who heard this were surprised small perfection in two of his moves. It was rare for one to reach small perfection when he was in Martial Disciple stage and only rare geniuses are able to accomplish it even Bai Mo has reached small perfection only recently and only in one move of his. This Su Mo sure has high hopes. Jiang Chen didn't feel it was dreaming high. Jiang Chen reached small perfection in all moves practices till now except for last move of his lightning spear technique he was close to achieve it.

Jiang Chen "Brother Mo can sure do it. It is just a matter of opportunity you may get sudden enlightenment. Brother Mo should flex his muscles in spars this may help you for learning better. "

Jiang Chen honestly spoke .

Su Mo "Brother Chen is right I should try to get some live experiences."

When she heard she was betrothed to Jiang Chen she was very happy. Jiang Chen was like desired no. 1 boy in the city from the day he fought Bai Mo ,everyone wanted a husband like Jiang Chen who was humble ,caring about family, strong and genuine genius with dual attribute cultivation and already a human ranked weapon smith. Even without family background these things can make him stand alone.

Jiang Chen took some manuals from his Jade belt and passed them to Su Ming with gentle expression on his face.

Jiang Chen "You can choose two skills from the list here there are all techniques of Jiang Clan listed here."

Su Ming took the booklet from Jiang Chen's hand and was slowly observing every technique and its description in it.

Jiang Chen "There is no need to rush you read each of them carefully think thoroughly and make a decision . I will be practicing in archery field ,you come to me once decision was made.

Jiang Chen said that and left to archery field along with his cousins.

There in practice field Jiang Chen questioned both Jiang Bingyue and Lingrou about their experiences in archery field . Even though Jiang Chen is very good at archery he has never used attribute energy to reinforce his arrows so he listened patiently about their experiences and could grab the key points. Raising an archer for cultivator is very tough than others. Archers need suitable attributed arrow heads and bows to show case their best abilities and each arrow released spends away resources. One demonic core can produce 100 low quality arrows and 10 medium quality arrows and only one high quality arrows.

Around after noon he saw Su Ming coming towards him.

Jiang Chen "Have you chosen the skill you want?" Jiang Chen said releasing his thousandth arrow of the day covered in sweat.

Jiang Chen didn't even look at Su Ming he was running all kinds on calculations in his mind.

Su Ming waited some time for him to stop practice but seeing that he isn't going to stop any sooner.

Su Ming "Brother Chen I have went through every technique but I am unable to make a choice on the skill that best suit me."

Su Ming "Brother Chen spoke that day that in Jiang family elders choose suitable skills for their disciples. Can you help me in making a correct choice." Su Ming blushed while speaking it. She is going to be Jiang families daughter in law in future.

Jiang Chen stopped practiced hearing this and placed his bow down and took the book let from Su Ming's hand and once again read through the list even though he know all the techniques in it.

Jiang Chen "Show me your hand." Jiang Chen said closing his eyes trying to feel the aura from her hand.

Su Ming was shy at first but seeing Jiang Chen closed his eyes extended her hands.Jiang Chen observed for few moments when he heard a voice from behind.

"Sister Ming you are here."

Jiang Chen opened his eyes to find an elegant looking girl behind him She was wearing a blue color robe and her beauty was no less than Su Ming's. Behind her there was another lady looking identical to her wearing azure color robes. They are for sure Shangguan twins.

One in Azure robe is Shangguan Ning'er while the one in blue robe is Shangguan Bing'er eldest of the twins.Shangguan Ning'er is his fiance .

"Shangguan elder sister I am here to receive my fire attribute techniques from Elder brother Chen." there was a hint of dissatisfaction in her eyes seeing the twins one of them would be her rival in future to get Jiang Chen's attention.

Jiang Chen looked at both sisters and found they are too identical to each other and can't be identified easily apart.

Shangguan Ning'er was trying to check on Jiang Chen trying to gauge his strength.

Jiang Chen understood this and politely answered "I am 6th stage Martial disciple now."

Shangguan Ninger's face blushed at response.

Shangguan Ning'er "Elder brother Chen you should deal with Sister Ming's matter first it is more important." Shangguan Ning'er spoke in a polite tone Shangguan Bing'er was little dissatisfied with it.

Jiang Chen nodded his head and then looked at Su Ming who was little serious now.

Jiang Chen could understand her thoughts then he took out two manuals his jade belt.

Jiang Chen " Su Ming for you Flaming Whipping sword is best available technique in weapons it is just a high human ranked skill. You should use rising palm techniques for other choice. Rising palm is Low earth rank technique that is suitable for you. Addition to that you should also practice Dancing Palm technique ,it is a common grade technique it is available in City Square for purchase."

Su Ming took both manuals from Jiang Chen's hand but she was puzzled on why Jiang Chen asked her to practice a common grade technique.

Jiang Chen "Although it is a common grade technique it is best suitable for you. If you could reach grand perfection in it and use it along with Flaming Whipping sword its level would be no lesser than earth grade techniques. Even reaching small perfection its level to Mortal rank ones."

Not just Su Ming even Shangguan twins were surprised hearing this. Upgrading a martial technique by two grades. Is it possible.

Su Ming "Elder Brother Chen is what you said true?" she didn't doubt Jiang Chen but couldn't stop but asking it.

Jiang Chen "It depends on you ,if you could assimilate both of them it will sure rise a rank. I am sure you would be able to do that." Jiang Chen spoke encouraging her.

Jiang Chen "Lingrou help Su Ming get a copy of Dancing palm technique. Help her make a copy of both the techniques.Then also bring this materials from there." Jiang Chen spoke in a stern tone.

Hearing Jiang Chen's voice Jiang Lingrou proceeded forward and took two manuals from Su Ming's hand and silently led her to City square.

Su Ming understood even though Jiang Chen was polite and friendly he is very strict to his responsibilities as junior clan leader.

As Su Ming left .

Shangguan Bing'er " Will Dancing palm truly help her evolve That flaming whip technique to earth grade?"

Usually body refinement cultivators practice common rank techniques just to obtain experience of using heavenly energy and its applications. No one practice them to small perfection and don't speak about grand perfection they are ignore once they reach Martial Disciple stage,but practicing them to small perfection or grand perfection is not that difficult if one really concentrated on it.

Even Shangguan Ning'er was interested in knowing that if it is true it is not only applicable to that move alone right.

Jiang Chen smiled "Yes it can . Dancing palm balances all the weaknesses of Flaming whip so if we can merge them together it will be a grand new technique."

Shangguan Ning'er " Is it only applicable for Flaming whip or other moves also?"

Jiang Chen " If we find suitable techniques to balance the weakness we will be able to for other moves too."

Shangguan twins wanted to know more about it.

Jiang Chen "You can try Buddhas Palm technique , you are already practicing earth grade techniques and you want to rise its level too."

Both Shangguan twins were confused hearing this.

Jiang Chen "Your whirlwind sword has good speed and high agility and good precision it only lacks in its power .You are not able to store more power in the move. So Buddha's palm is best way to reduce its weakness and Buddha's sword helps you to store more power in shortest time perfect fit for your sword technique."

Both Shangguan twins were surprised hearing this how did Jiang Chen know about their sword technique.

Shangguan Bing'er couldn't stop asking "How did you know about that technique? You never saw us using that technique right?"

Jiang Chen "Almost every family maintains a record on all skills of other families and its weakness,as does Shangguan family they know the weakness of others skills. Also which data of the top five beauties of River Spring city be ignored by your pursuers."

Shangguan Ning'er was blushing hearing that words coming from Jiang Chen.

Shangguan Bing'er "You are the speaking about it. Would it be possible for us to master it?"

Jiang Chen "Why not if you can't master it then who else can .You have better resources and experience already .Your control for heavenly energy is much better than Su Ming's so you might accomplish it before she could."

Shangguan twins were satisfied hearing this and also it explains how Jiang Chen can fight ranks higher than his he tries to perfect everything he learns and does more research on everything.

Jiang Chen "You came here with purpose right?" Jiang Chen remembered they came here as he took his bow and started practicing his tribulation technique.

Shangguan Ning'er "Shangguan family is going for training camp next month we want to ask you are you interested to come along with us?" she was not surprised that Jiang Chen was so hardworking he is trying to catch up their gifts by hard work.

Jiang Chen released over three arrows in the interval of time she spoke.

Jiang Chen "Where ?"

Shangguan Bing'er " Moon mountains."

Jiang Chen "Hunting camp ,sure I will join you. Can I bring my family members ."

Shangguan siblings were relieved hearing this they were told strictly by their parents to convince Jiang Chen to come.

Shangguan Bing'er "Sure more the better." after that Shangguan Twins left.

Jiang Lingyue "Elder brother you seemed to like Shangguan sister in law more?"

Jiang Chen "What is the use of liking when that marriage will never happen."

Jiang Lingyue was shocked hearing this.

Jiang Chen "Both twins were compatible techniques they are more powerful when they are together."

Jiang Lingyue "Then about engagement ?"
