30 Duel of Life and Death

It was the third day after the meeting of major family was organized ,Jiang Chen passed all the manuals to the respective families and rested the decision of sharing the information to them only Long family and Mo family approached Jiang family and they left satisfied with all side gaining. The problem lied with the biggest competitors Bai family and City lord family the skill Bai Mo needed was with Ha family and what Ha ling needed was with Bai family .They are loggerheads with each other so it was unknown whether they exchanged or not there were total 18 skills that are to be mutually exchanged between them Ha family has 10 skills that Bai family need in their possession while Bai family have .

Jiang Feng "First brother are you going to the arena for the duel?"

Jiang Chen "I almost forgot it should be at noon right why should I rush there."

Jiang Chen "On second thought I guess I should go to the Martial Grounds I have to practice my Archery it has been long since I practiced it."

Although Jiang Chen was proficient in many weapons the weapon with which he killed the most was his Bow and arrow ,there were over three hundred beast that fell to his arrows and also 5 people he killed while saving Mo Qingcheng. He already learned two moves of it to perfection and need to rank up in cultivation to practice next set of moves. Jiang Chen recently started applying principles of Blazing sun techniques and White mist techniques of swords into archery he was still in theory stage and made little improvements though.

When Jiang Chen reached Martial Grounds many people were already there practicing their moves when they saw Jiang Chen coming they greeted him politely.

Bai Mo "Brother Jiang you are early here. I heard your duel is at noon."

Jiang Chen "I came here for my regular archery practice brother Bai I guess exchange between two families is completed isn't is Water Moon technique of Ha Family you are practicing ."

Bai Mo "You are right brother Jiang meeting was success we were able to get eight of theirs for eight of ours negotiation are going on for other two techniques it is going slow."

Jiang Chen understood." Oh great then. I guess you don't need my help for now. I will help you in assimilating these to your offensive sword."

Bai Mo "I don't doubt brothers words." said uneasily.

Jiang Chen "What happened you seem little uneasy?"

Bai Mo "About your duel with that guy .Are you confident ? I heard he is a third grade Martial Artist."

Jiang Chen "He is I am counting on my abilities and I will be using my full power blow on the start itself."

Bai Mo just nodded his head. Jiang Chen went to archery arena and started practicing his new fire techniques of archery again he was simultaneously restoring his fire attributes having split his brain early stage he has that particular advantage. Jiang Chen can simultaneously do three tasks at a time with great efficiency and more that that efficiency starts decreasing.

Jiang Chen already released over 300 arrows with his new fire technique and over 100 stone statues crumbled to dust . Seeing Jiang Chen practicing fire attribute archery many people were tensed at this. None of the disciples from River Spring city has mood to practice ,they are eagerly anticipating over life and death duel. People who know Jiang Chen were surrounding him watching him practice their faces were little dull even though they were confident of Jiang Chen's abilities they were sure jumping three ranks is nothing for Jiang Chen he fought Bai Mo and Ha Ling who are two levels above him and with an attribute that suppressed his attribute and hold it to draw. He should have no problem facing three ranks above his but there is significant difference between Martial disciple and Martial Artist.

Around noon Bo Wen came along with the people from Cangtok city. Jiang Chen continued shooting arrows .When Bo Wen saw that he was furious. This Jiang Chen completely ignored him.

Bo Wen "Jiang Chen do you think last minute practice will help you?"

Jiang Chen "There are few more minutes time for your duel appointment don't disturb my practice." Jiang Chen spoke indifferently and continued practicing.

Bo Wen even though angry felt little happy at this this Jiang Chen is really foolish he is consuming his fire attribute energy when he have a duel in few minutes it will sure advantageous to him.

Mo Qingcheng "Jiang Chen are you going to use your spear techniques ?"

Jiang Chen "No. I think I would be using my fists only."

Mo Qingcheng "He has a mortal ranked sword with him and you want to counter it using your fists. Are you mad or you want to commit suicide.Listen to wife use your sword or bow and arrow."

Jiang Chen simply smiled listening to this.

After few minutes Jiang Chen kept his bow back into his Jade belt and went on to the stage.

He completed the formalities on the stage and then stood on the arena facing Bo Wen. Many people were cheering for Jiang Chen below the stage.

Bo Wen "This is for the humiliation you gave me yesterday I will kill you and prove that I am the genius alchemist."

Jiang Chen smiled at it "You want to prove that you are a genius alchemist than me and you challenged me to life and death duel instead of alchemy duel .It sure explains everything."

Jiang Chen then pointed at a random man in the crowd " He is a genius alchemist from Cangtok city of Southern Grand and just few days back I received my token as alchemist and he wanted to prove that he is a genius alchemist and challenged me to duel.How do you explain this?"

That man was shocked when Jiang Chen pointed at him but then replied "He was very confident that he has no way of defeating you in alchemy skills so he is trying to use his superior cultivation level to kill you."

Jiang Chen "See any person can guess your intentions there is no need to act as tough and virtuous. Just get started make your move."

When Bo Wen heard it his face was fuming with anger Jiang Chen intentionally publicized everything openly further humiliating him.

Bo Wen took out his sword and started attacking Jiang Chen using a Blade technique. Jiang Chen didn't even move a bit and his hand silently took out his sword which was sheathed completely. Just as Bo Wen move was about to hit Jiang Chen he moved his sheathed sword and the move was broken and Bo Wen's sword fell from his hand.

Jiang Chen broke an earth ranked move with just a small move and he didn't even use his fire attribute energy to do that he did only using his Heavenly energy.

Jiang Chen "I have to admit the competence of Cangtok city Pill palace that they could even make a people with such pathetic fire control to a seventh grade alchemist ."

Jiang Chen's word resounded around the grounds.

Jiang Chen then placed his sword back into the Jade Belt.

Jiang Chen "Make your move I have to go back to practice after the fight."

Jiang Chen spoke restlessly it angered Bo Wen further more Jiang Chen was not giving him and this fight any face at all. There was a dread in his face too his sword was already fallen and his strongest move didn't even made Jiang Chen unsheathe his sword.

Jiang Chen "Go on take your sword I won't stop you ." Jiang Chen let Bo Wen take his sword. Bo Wen prepared on more time to attack and this time he used all his pure energy to make a do or die move he knew Jiang Chen will however kill him so there is not point whether he preserve his attribute energy or now.

Bo Wen "Heat Wave technique." as Bo Wen spoke that there was huge wave of fire rushing towards Jiang Chen not giving any place for Jiang Chen to dodge. Every who saw that were scared on how Jiang Chen is going to face this attack it really looked tyrannical.

Jiang Chen just smiled "Why are you unnecessarily spreading your fire energy thin you wasted too much fire energy for nothing pathetic." Jiang Chen just enveloped himself in his own fire attribute energy which counteracted with Bo Wen's and whole heat wave passed behind Jiang Chen with not even a scratch on Jiang Chen. Jiang Chen moved swiftly behind Bo Wen and grabbed his ankle.

Jiang Chen "Such a pathetic positioning you didn't properly balanced your feet to attack even my youngest brother can win against you ." saying that Jiang Chen lifted Bo Wen with his ankle as support and slammed him to ground head first. Jiang Chen still held back his energy . Bo Wen's sword fell on the ground and his whole body was bloody mess blood was leaking out all over and most of his body bones are broken he was just lying their with no ounce of energy to move at all.

Seeing Bo Wen lying on the ground motion less result was already confirmed it was Jiang Chen's victory very clean and thorough Jiang Chen didn't even use a technique of his .

People from Cangtok city were worried seeing this they will loose Bo Wen if they didn't intervene and for them to intervene it is not possible as there are many Martial soldiers gathered there and even Jiang Chen's uncle is here it would just bring their own destruction if they made a move.

As Jiang Chen walked over to the sword lying on the ground he took the sword and checked it and shook his head dissatisfied. Jiang Chen then walked to Bo Wen who was lying on the ground helplessly.

Jiang Chen "Such a good sword it is truly wasted on you ,I am taking it."

Just then there was figure on the stage. Jiang Chen recognized them. It is Roe Fen and Nan Kong.

Roe Fen "Jiang Chen can you give us face and let Bo Wen live we will compensate you accordingly." he said trying to be gentle.

Jiang Chen observed it clearly it was actually Nan Kong who made move first wanting to struck Jiang Chen but he was stopped by Roe Fen's intervention.

Jiang Chen just smiled taking out a healing pill and made Bo Wen swallow it.

Jiang Chen "Don't worry I will not kill him." As Jiang Chen spoke that every one were relieved not just people from Cangtok city but from River Spring city. Even though they know Jiang Chen has every right to kill Bo Wen but it will create a wedge between two cities it would bring a disaster to follow up.

Roe Fen breathed a sigh of relief as he lifted Bo Wen up and now Bo Wen was gaining consciousness .

Roe Fen "We will compensate you accordingly for the favor we owe you."

Jiang Chen "There was no need for that .I am not doing this for you or worried about Cangtok city I am giving face to myself." said smiling.

Jiang Chen "Here in River Spring city I am respected by all and many hold I high expectations on me. How humiliating it would be for me to speak out that the first person I killed was such a pathetic looser who can't even hold a sword properly. It would be to humiliating on my reputation. That Jiang Chen's first kill is an unnamed fighter and no fighter at all."

When people from Cangtok city heard it they were fuming with anger .He is humiliating Bo Wen intentionally . But River Spring city people were either laughing or giving an expression of its true.

Jiang Chen " This stain will be with me forever. So you can take him back with you. I will even compensate few medicine pills for you if he don't speak that he fought me for two moves."

Jiang Chen spoke all this Bo Wen was already conscious and pretending to be unconscious to avoid further humiliation but Jiang Chen was not letting any stone upturned in it.According to Jiang Chen it would be humiliation to kill him and he even don't want others to know that he took two moves to fall before. His insides were churning hearing this he wanted to vomit blood hearing this and was forced to swallow to avoid telling that he was conscious.

Jiang Chen spoke that and went back to archery arena and started practicing. He was clearly disappointed at the fight. His expressions were clearly indicating it.

After Jiang Chen left every one slowly dispersed there was no face left for Bo Wen at all. People from Shangguan family didn't stop taunting Bo Wen at all he was acting high and mighty when he came to Shangguan family house but against Jiang Chen well he is humiliation that Jiang Chen know. Shangguan Ning'er who was watching this felt her heart moved. She remember how Jiang Chen told her that he will answer for Shangguan families humiliation and he truly responded back and it was even worse than death for that Bo Wen now.

There were three people in deep thoughts over this Bai Mo ,Ha Ling and Shangguan Bing'er they realized their understanding of Jiang Chen was somewhat shallow now. They were in deep thoughts many things will change with this incident.

Mo Qingcheng "Jiang Chen you are too mean? He will never forget this in his life."

Jiang Chen "Hmm.Are you happy ?"

Mo Qingcheng "I am very very happy. He will never be able to recover from this incident . You thoroughly defeated him both in alchemy skills and his duel was even more a disaster . I am not sure but this may form a permanent mental block in his mind. You thoroughly destroyed his future." she was blushing and shouting with joy. Mo Qingcheng it was to secure his future that Bo Ning wanted to use me as a transaction and now it was thoroughly destroyed ,even Bo Wen's death might not have satisfied her this much.

Mo Qingcheng "Jiang Chen do you think Bo Wen heard everything. I wish he heard it all."

Jiang Chen "I spoke all that only after he regained consciousness. Now that you are happy is you mind clear now."

Mo Qingcheng "It is better than that I am even more confident now ,you are with me why should I fear those bastards now. We will pay them back hundred times." tears were coming in her eyes when speaking that.

Mo Qingcheng "Are you not afraid of Bo Ning's pay back ?"

Jiang Chen "What can he do to me in this city and of all people you know my secrets better."

Mo Qingcheng "Yes I was being stupid how can any one kill you if you want to live. Also he was just a Martial Warrior if you use your unknown attribute he will die without knowing how."

Jiang Chen "Wife I can't use that unknown attribute outside. It will bring disaster to me that even my birth parents are afraid of."

Mo Qingcheng " I will be entering secluded cultivation tomorrow. I will restart completely." even though she said restart her cultivation will not restart but she want to take step by step solidifying her foundations.

That night all families gathered in their main halls discussing the new changes. While a big group of people were leaving the city in silence of night. Even though they want to take revenge they dropped their thoughts for now. Roe Fen was leading few people to continue searching for Mo Qingcheng while others were taking Bo Wen back to Cangtok city.

Shangguan family was divided into two with one side wanting to support Jiang Chen as his potential is far greater while other was still hoping to gain from his death. Both twins were first time logger heads with each other as they have different opinions .

Patriarch was leading the faction of Bing'er while their second uncle was supporting other faction holding Ning'er.
