2 Luffy the next pirate king

When I climbed on the wall like the other two to look over, the little girl flew over me.

I didn't think twice and used one of my family techniques to reach her in literally no time. So I could cover her fall with my body. I overlooked how one of the teens also went into action.

He stretched his arms unnaturally far after the girl. When I noticed his hands near us, I didn't want to waste his effort as I got an idea. I wrapped his arms around the girl and found out that he felt like rubber.

He was visibly surprised to see me there and didn't react at all when I whipped her into his arms. He just started to grin while his eyes shined like stars.

I landed with ease; he was covered in dirt but fine otherwise.

He knocked the dirt off his clothes and then turned around with his eyes shining like stars:

"How did you do that? How did you get there so fast? Are you a ninja? Hey, say something! Hey, you have to join my crew. A ninja, that's so cool."

I was buffed and stared back at him with my eyes open. Crazily, he seemed so familiar to me. But I was sure I had never seen him in my life before.

I wanted certainty; he felt so awful close like a best friend to me. It even surprised me when I actually thought about joining him right on the spot.

A second later, I got back to my senses and tried to get information to clear my suspectings. The Boy with the straw hat pointed at himself before adding, "I am Luffy. The next pirate king. I am by myself right now but I will make Zoro join my crew. With you joining, we will be three. Afterwards we just need to find one or two people before we sail out to the Grandline."

I got a headache noticing he basically already saw me as an addition to his crew.

He then turned to the little girl without waiting for my answer and asked her what she wanted to archive in search of a dangerous place. He skipped me just like that as if he already knew the answer.

She told him the same story as she did to me totally ignoring my confusion and indignation about the situation.

Without waiting on me or giving me a chance to complain, he stretched his arms and got ready to jump over the wall without hearing me out. He turned his head towards me, "I will be right back." and catapulted himself over the wall.

His little friend scratched his backhead and told me,

"That's how Luffy is but he isn't a bad guy. I'm surprised you seem quite collected seeing his power, I still get stunned sometimes when he does his thing. I haven't been with him for long, but I know one thing for sure. Luffy is pretty thick-headed and once he is fixed on something. He tries everything possible to achieve his goal. I am Coby, by the way, hehe."

I turned to him, to observe him before I accepted my temporary situation. I knew from his body language that he had a similar experience with Luffy before we met.

I answered him in a male voice, I practiced to back my cover up, "Well, I am more surprised by his character, I guess. Also even if devil fruits are indeed rare in the east blue, they aren't the only mythics of this world but enough about that I think he will explain once he is back." After a short break I continued to speak, "

He seemed to be your friend but I don't recall him mentioning you as his crewmate. You also don't seem nearly as ambitious as he is. You guys are just like opposite characters. How come that you found together? If I may ask? "

Corby got nervous and stared at his shoes for a while before he visibly put all his courage together to give me an answer with a loud but shaky voice , "I don't really want to talk about it but he saved my life and encouraged me to follow my dream. I always wanted to be a brave marine and I will become one!"

He took a break before he added, "One day."

It earned him my bewildered look as I sized him up once again,

"You know, you have to fight him once you do so right? He also knows that right? I mean, he doesn't seem to be the smartest but he can't be that dense, can he?"

This question made him clearly awkward as he stared back at me. In his eyes I could see the answer to my quest. Which totally caught me off guard.

I rubbed my temple as I answered my question myself, "He did realize it but he simply doesn't care at all."

He sighed as he slowly turned to the wall and made his way back to her, "Yes, I don't think he sees me as a threat at all, but I will reach it. After I helped him out now. I don't think Zoro deserves the punishment that awaits him."

I just got even more confused as I asked, "You know what awaits him and you don't seem to be dense in contrast to Luffy. Why do you want to help him, you know once you helped in a crime. Those marines will treat you just as those criminals then you can say goodbye to your dream."

Those words woke him up as he found his determination, "I will become a marine that fights for justice. What they did to him is not right. I wouldn't become like those scumbags that bully and suppress the citizens they oath to protect."

My voice got cold as I remembered parts of my past, "Justice. A word that holds no true meaning. You throw your weight around so casually, not knowing what you are talking about. Justice is not necessary; power is the only true necessity. They just protect their own interests. If you join them you will see it for yourself sooner or later. Don't be fooled by their beautiful appearance or you will regret it."

When I saw him turn his head toward me, I knew I talked too much.

"What do you mean by that?"

I didn't want to answer his question so I turned my head away looking into the sky as silence grew between us. After a few seconds, he knew he wouldn't get an answer so he shifted his focus back to the wall.

"I don't know what you mean but I wasted too much time already. I should try to help Luffy with Zoro."

I got pretty irritated about my slip but I tried hard to shift my focus away from the past. The best way I came up with was to focus on Luffy. So many questions that are unanswered.

Why is he so familiar? Why am I so drawn to him? Not in a sexual way, more camaradic. Why does it feel like I know everything about him? Have I met him anywhere before? So many questions flew through my head.

Asking myself wouldn't do me any good, so I want after his friend Corby and his new "crewmate" Zoro.

Luffy was nowhere to be seen.

Zoro was bound to a stake on an execution field. Ready to be executed. I never learned to read lips, so I couldn't hear what they were talking about. Coby was sweating as his focus constantly changed from Zoro to the entry to check if they already got discovered.

After a few minutes, he stopped checking the gate because he made no progress at all.

When I saw the first marines coming their way, he was so focused on Zoro that he didn't even notice it.

Zoro gave me a similar guts feeling as Luffy did but risking my life for something like that didn't seem worth it. I took a knife out of my seal and threw it close to Corby's feet.

Knowing Corby would never finish in time before anyone reached there.

Corby didn't lose his focus but Zoro turned to my direktion as he saw something flow at them. I dipped before he could spot me as I didn't want to get dragged into his drama.

Coby got nervous as he heard the gate opening and tried his best to untie Zoro even faster.

The commander ordered his soldiers to shoot. Zoro started to get worried too, he was sweating all over as he looked down where my knife landed and screamed at Corby to use it.

My guts told me that they would be fine even if it looked bad for them. I had to watch what was about to happen. So I climbed the wall once more.

They began to aim. Corby took the knife and cut Zoro free. They didn't have much time left. Zoro

I made my decision and watched. Their lives are in their hands. I wouldn't try to play the hero.

The soldiers pulled the trigger as We could hear a scream coming from the sky and as the bullets were about to hit them, Luffy landed in front of them.

He caught all the bullets with his body. Every shot that hit him bounced back to them. Zoro still had no clue how Luffy was doing this.

So he decided to ask him as he shouted, "Who to the devil are you?"

Luffy laughed and turned to him while answering him just as loud, "I am Monkey D. Luffy, the man who will become the pirate king."

Zoro turned to Corby and asked him a question but this time not loud enough for me to understand.

Luffy smiled as he gave Zoro his Katanas back.

Zoro hung his swords on his hips.

The Marines switched to the sword and started another attack after they saw that bullets do not work. When I saw Zoro holding them off by himself, I felt annoyed. As further questions came to my head.

Why is he so familiar? Why did I care about him? I didn't even know him. This time I was sure that we had never met before. Zoro was too easy to recognize with his head having grass on top of it. I mean if he lay in actual grass, he would look bald.

When Luffy made his move, I broke out of my thoughts and shifted my focus back to the events. Luffy shouted at Zoro to put his head down as he stretched his leg abnormally long and used it as a whip.

He missed Zoro just by centimeters which made him pissed but he also smacked every marines away from him.

Zoro was still staggered about his new captain's abilities but he didn't forget to rant out his frustrations about Luffy's leak of control. He still let Luffy take on the commander.

The Captain of the base wasn't very popular with residents or his unit. Inhabitants feared him more than they respected him and his soldiers didn't even want to fight for him anymore.

He cursed about their inability as he stroked himself. One of his arms was replaced with an axe which he used for his attack. He had power as the ground broke apart but his aim and speed couldn't match Luffy.

Luffy played around with him while beating him up. No one even tried to help the symbol of justice till he got to the ground after he took some kicks and punches from Luffy.

He was perfactic to be honest.

They let their guard down until they saw that the commander's son had sneaked around them and approached Coby to threaten him with a pistol.

"Stop hurting my father, or I will shoot your friend here."

Luffy grinned, "Coby are you fine?"

Coby's knees trembled and he wept terribly, yet he brought forth with a weeping voice,

"Don't take care of me and get him done."

He stretched his arm and hit him in his face.

The commander used this time to sneak attack Luffy. Zoro caped an eye on him as his Captain was done with him. So he put an end to it, as he knocked him out with a chop in the neck with the backside of his sword.

When I saw everything was going to be fine, I graped the Inn's little girl, who sneaked beside me to watch a great show and we made our way back to the Inn.

I was sure Luffy would visit there once he finished his business. Zoro didn't eat for days so he must be hungry. Besides, he got into this mess because of her in the first place.

It took longer than expected. Luffy came through the door with Zoro and Corby by his side as he made his way towards me.
