5 Schatten

The next life they went to was horrible, to say the least. Memory-Oswald at this time is unnamed. He was in a Polish orphanage. He was three years old in 1923 when he was taken by a group of Nazis.

Vita felt that something was wrong here. She couldn't put her finger on it. She could try to see what it was, but it was too much of a hassle right now. She just ignored that feeling. 'I'll find out eventually what is wrong' she thought to herself.

Vita and Oswald's point of view changed from the orphanage to a facility. There memory-Oswald was given the code name Schatten. The German word for shadow. They watched as they trained Schatten in all sorts of ways, broke him and sent him as the protecting shadow of some higher up.

Oswald couldn't remember anything about what is happening, Schatten couldn't either. Schatten was drugged every day so that his consciousness will not be there but he can still be ordered around. The drugging started when he was around 15 years old. For 10 years he was a robot that will not waste time in order to carry orders.

Oswald and Vita at this moment are also blind to what is happening. They can only see a thicc cloud that can't be seen through. "Why can't we see what he does?" asked Oswald. "We should be seeing them as they are my memories." Vita looks at him and started "We are looking at your Impact points. All Impact points are memories but not all memories can be Impact points. For example, right now, this Impact point is telling you how muddled your memory is. The only way we can see these memories of yours is when there is an Impact point where you can remember them, otherwise, you will not remember them."

"Wait, you're telling me YOU can?" Oswald exclaimed. "Naturally, I am life itself. I can, will and should see every little thing life is doing, done and will do. No, I will not tell you what Schatten is doing. It is vital that you don't see it" Vita said.

As they continue to watch the memories, the cloud started to dissipate one evening while Schatten is sitting on his bed ready to go to sleep after being ordered to. Something happened. He is slowly regaining his consciousness. This happened because his drug administrator gave him pain relievers instead of the drug. The administrator was a spy in the Nazi ranks. Seeing that Schatten was always being given this mysterious drugs, he replaced it.

Oswald at the same time as Schatten began to remember everything he did. The people he killed, the children he let burn, the women who he saw get raped but didn't do anything about it. He even aided Oskar Dirlewanger in one of his antics. Schatten was protecting a higher up, not just a higher up it seems. He was protecting the Fuhrer. 10 years of memories just came all back to him. Schatten felt pain he had never felt before because of the memories. He passed out before even being able to scream.

Vita looked at Oswald and got a little bit confused. When a soul gets its memory to reawaken, especially from its past life, it will hurt. The flood of memories should hurt. Oswald looked uncomfortable, not because of the pain, but because of what Schatten did.

"Hmmm. I want to kill someone right now. I really want to kill the bastards that did this. Children that were innocent was killed out of nothing." Oswald said with cold fury. The red aura that was surrounding him got thicker. It was red but even Vita felt the freezing cold Oswald was exhuming from him. 'A soul capable of making me feel this. What a weird soul. What kind of path does he have?'

Every soul has a path. Paths are the things the soul center itself. If your path is of money, the soul's lives will all center around it. The ways may be different but all of it will be about money. Giving money away, taking money, spending it, hoarding it or simply transactions of it. There are even cases were a cultivator's path was so hell-bent on getting money that he discovered the dao of karma. He used his dao to forcefully make his enemies own him money, which will then make a karmic connection between them. He can then use his dao of karma to control said enemies or deal damage to them depending on how much his enemies owe him. *wink wink*

As Vita was looking at Oswald, she saw the path of kindness. A small smile forms on her face but stops midway. Her smile turns into shock and then she felt scared. 'What is he? He shouldn't exist!' She thought.

Behind the path of kindness, there were other paths. 'I saw people with two or three paths. I know of people with none. He has many, no, he has all of them.' She saw paths like figures that symbolize said path. She saw the uncountable amount of figures that are attaching to Oswald as he is still covered in a chilling fury.

Oswald notices Vita looking strangely at him with a shocked face. "You okay? Did I do something wrong?" He asked. Vita's concentration broke and looks at Oswald's eyes and said "I'm fine. I just saw something unexpected. How about let's see what Schatten does next?"

Oswald looked at her with a raised eyebrows "Okay, let's go."

They went to another memory. This time Schatten was standing over a kneeling man. The man has a mustache but limited only to his philtrum. It was the führer. "So this is how it ends. The bodyguard killing the guarded. You are a monster." Schatten stated while pointing a gun point-blank at the führer's head.

"Adolf Hitler. The führer of the Third Reich. I was his bodyguard and servant." Oswald said with the same fury as before. Vita's eyes widened. "How do you know him? I know you said führer but what is he to you?" Interrogated Vita. "Well, when I'm Oswald, we learned about him in school. He is one of the most memorable figures in history. The man who ordered the end of millions of people. But he supposedly committed suicide. I guess it was different." answered Oswald.

It finally clicked why Vita felt something was wrong in the beginning. This soul died as Schatten and reincarnated into Oswald in the same world. That is a rare case. But she still feels that something is very wrong here. "Why do you ask?" Asked Oswald with a concerned face as Vita was making a slightly annoyed face. "Nothing, I hope," Vita said.

Schatten was just staring at the back of the head of the führer. When the door banged open and a couple of forces from different countries entered. The Allied forces came. They froze when they saw a man over Adolf holding him at gunpoint. "You lot, tell your superiors this. The führer killed himself, or I will also make your leaders kill themselves." After Schatten told this to the Allied Force, he pulled the trigger.

*BANG*

*Thud*

*BANG*

"Double tap just to make sure he killed himself," Schatten said. He then opened a tear gas and a grenade at the same time.

"GET DOWN!" Shouted one of the officers.

*BANG!!*

The sound of the explosion disoriented a lot of them. The gas then spread out and Schatten was able to escape. The memory ends and everything around them turns to black once more. "That was an interesting ride. Me killing innocents, then killing Hitler, threatening the biggest forces of the world back then, them, actually scared enough to honor my threat. That was fun." Oswald said with a hint of self-loathing. "It is not the end. There is one more Impact point. Death." said Vita. "Wait, are you telling me that I have no more Impact points from here until my death?" Oswald asked curiously. "It would seem so," Vita answered this but in reality, there was so much more impact points. Schatten actually lived until he was 74 years old. There is actually 49 years worth of memories.

They arrived at a hospital. We see an old man surrounded by his family. His children, grandkids and his wife. As Oswald sees this, 49 years worth of memory suddenly rushed into him. He started crying. 'I see, he can still feel pain.' thought Vita. She thought that the pain of the memories made Oswald silent and cry.

Vita's eyes suddenly widened when she felt an aura. She looked at Oswald and she saw Oswald crying while laughing and smiling. It looked sinister considering he is still surrounded by a red aura and his flesh being see-through with a red tint. What Vita felt through the aura though was not hatred nor pain, it was pure happiness. 'He didn't feel the pain, but he felt the happiness of life' Vita was now sure that Oswald wasn't feeling any pain. 'It means that his soul is strong. The only way a soul is this strong is if the soul has lived for many years that a 50-years worth of memories is nothing to it.'

"He is fulfilled. I was fulfilled. That was a damn good life even if it started with a war." said Oswald through his tears. As they looked around the crying family Vita saw something come out of Schatten that Oswald didn't see. A soul is leaving. As the soul left Schatten drew his last breath. The family cried harder but Oswald is just smiling. "Thank you for loving me," said Oswald to the family even though he knew that they couldn't hear them.

He looks at Vita to say ask if they can go now, but Vita looked distracted, almost scared. She was looking to the window, her eyes seeing through the walls. Vita was looking at the soul the left Schatten the while Oswald was watching his previous life's family. "Is everything good? You have this worrying look for a time now."

"Everything is fine," said Vita with a bit of panic. "We have to leave now."

Before they left the soul entered a new-born baby. The crying baby was in his mother's arms. She was in critical condition. Even the doctor knew she wouldn't make it even if they tried. She holds the baby closer "Your father will still be there for you, don't cry honey, he will protect you and nurture you. I get to name you though, ha. I'm sorry I wouldn't be there for you, but I love you, my baby, Oswald"
