4 Chapter 4: Great Waves

A violet beam of light instantly broke through the sound barrier and streaked across the starry sky. Numerous worlds that day observed a bright comet streaking through the sky.

In a certain world, a tall handsome man opened his eyes from meditation. He was sitting on a mat dressed in golden royal robes and had striking fiery red hair. The only bizarre thing was that his eyes had slits for pupils like a snakes eyes. He looked up into the sky and his gaze seemed to pierce through the clouds and observe the comet closely. "Such might! Seems you actually went through with it old friend." he said with a smirk. He turned and looked knowingly in another direction for a bit then slowly closed his eyes again. "Heed my order, don't trouble the humans more than the usual skirmishes."

A shadow on a pillar in the hall suddenly morphed into a human shape and bowed to the man on the mat." As you decree." it bowed and left the hall as a shadowy streak on the floor.

Shockingly the hall and the entire palace was built on the floor of a volcano, completely submerged in the lava. A transparent dome kept out the lava, and various humanoid beings broke out into activity from this simple statement of one man. The mountain was the largest on a desolate fiery world with countless erupting volcanoes. Smoke and sulphur filled the skies and rivers of lava flowed down the hills and mountains into lakes of bubbling magma. The ground was scorched and barren with cracks exposing fiery eruptions every so often. It was not somewhere one would expect to find beings living.

The heat did not seem to trouble this race at all, and in fact they seemed to thrive in it.

In a dark corner of the starry sky with dim stars, a large area was covered in darkness, and the moment the comet shot by, the darkness seemed to be stirred. Howls and shrieks came from the darkness and a pair of red eyes opened in the middle of this dark cluster. The eyes seemed to be meeting the gaze of the man in golden robes. "Humph." A cold snort echoed in the darkness. The red eyes then sunk back into the darkness as if they were never there in the first place. The shrieks and howls continued for a long while after that before settling down as well.

On a certain world, a paradise of a city existed with golden paths and beautiful white castles. High walls surrounded the city, and a single castle in the middle of the city towered into the very clouds. The population of this city was astounding, and tens of millions of people bustled in the streets. In a magnificent scenery, three streaks of light appeared above the skies of the city and shot directly for the castle at the centre. One was a blue light, another was a silvery light and the last was a grey smoky light that all entered the highest tower in the castle directly. The heavily armed guards on the city walls made no attempts to stop the three lights, and instead bowed towards them as they passed. The three lights landed on the balcony of the tower and transformed into three men. The first was an old man with a long white beard in blue robes. He held a walking cane to support himself as he stood and had a grim look. The second was a well built middle aged man with blonde hair wearing dazzling silver armour and carrying a shield. He gave a nod to the old man when he arrived. Lastly was a young boy wrapped in bandages from head to toe and dressed in grey shorts and a grey sleeveless shirt. His bandages seemed to slowly seep a grey fog, and his hair was grey as well. Once all three arrived they hastily made their way into the hall from the balcony and bowed down on one knee after crossing the hallway. In front of them were a few steps on which was a golden platform. A golden throne with numerous precious gems was on the platform and on it sat an unassuming young man in white long sleeved robes. He casually glanced at the three who just arrived and gestured for them to stand. This man on the throne looked exactly like the statue on the platform in the starry sky as well! Taking their cue the three men rose up and approached the throne.

The man in silver armour then spoke first saying " Patriarch, the dragons have retreated following the disturbance observed in the sky. We should press the offence and use this chance." he clenched his fist excitedly. "The disturbance in the sky is not simple, even I cannot discern the power fluctuations on it. The dragons wariness is well founded." the old man said slowly. "The spectres have been stirred by the light as well" the young boy said, and his voice was like a grating of knives on glass. The man on the throne considered the reports of the three men before saying. "Secure our lost territories but don't press the dragons. The disturbance in the sky is my doing, it should buy us a period of peace. That old undead spectre is not my match, he wont try anything excessive." He then relaxed back in his throne and waved the three men away.

Seeing that the meeting was finished just like that the three did not dare to tarry and bowed before immediately leaving through the balcony. Three streaks of light shot out of the city immediately afterwards. "I wish I was qualified to flying over the city too." a guard on the city wall sighed. "If you paid more attention when working instead daydreaming you might." another guard said. A single comet had stirred great waves in many worlds just like that.
