5 Chapter 5: Filthy Humans

Oden was on his way to the nearest city. When he sensed two humans, he reduced his speed. And he went to greet.

They were hunters Oden was able to sense their powers. They were searching for prey. One of them was wearing black armor and the other one had silver armor. Being a scientist he knew about armors. They were mostly lords who brought really expensive armor.

He used his Inspect skill,

Human

Energy: 9

Human

Energy: 8

The silver armored guy had energy level 9.

Ren wasn't able to tell his rank. but they looked strong and they must be because normal hunters won't come to the forest of Fiza.

Oden thought of a story, they could believe and went to greet them.

"Hello, I am lost, can you tell where I am?"

The black-armored person spoke "you are in the lighting forest of Fiza"

"Is that a lighting wolf's pup?"

This won't be good…..he knows that this a lighting wolf, he will certainly think that I killed its parents and took him.

Oden spoke

"Oh, no no… this is a normal wolf. I just went to conduct some tests with my group but the creatures killed them. I was lucky to get a chance to hide. Can you tell me the way to the nearest city?"

This time the man in the silver spoke

"I can give you but that won't be free nor do you have any money with you, what do you say about selling the wolf to us."

What kind of demon am I ? I can't even lie to a human. Weren't demons supposed to be good at deceiving people? maybe, but I am just a newborn baby demon, That's why. Oden thought.

Oden: how much are you offering?

"100 Ruz? I will offer 1000? and the way to the nearest city, what do you say?" The silver armor hunter told.

A creature's value, even if it's the weakest it started from a million. They were actually mocking him.

Oden was so pissed off that he ignored them and didn't even want to see their face. He went on his way.

But the hunters didn't wish to live more…..

He was stopped by the silver hunter,

"you can go, leave the wolf here."

Oden looked straight into his eye, without even blinking he asked politely.

"and if I don't ?"

For Oden it was already a favor by sparing them…after becoming a demon, he wasn't afraid of humans anymore. it was more like they were harmless insects to him. maybe like mosquitos.

The silver man replied,

"Then we have to take it the hard way…we don't like bullying people. If you give us the wolf, we won't hurt you"

'These filthy humans are not worthy to be alive. They have shown their true face. I was thinking my luck was bad to have such a wonderful father. But now, there will not be any pity for humans in my heart anymore..'

Oden dropped the wolf…

The silver man smiled "good, you are a smart gu..."

Before he could complete the sentences….Oden banged his head on the ground. The crash was so hard that it shook the ground. only the pieces of the skull were remaining on the place of the head.

Oh Shit, I went with the flow…I hope no one saw me…they should be stronger. His energy level was 9 right ? is a difference of 1 so much.

he fought with the bat, but the bat and his strength were kind of comparable. but this difference was huge. A punch and a human was gone.

Oden didn't know that demons and humans were different in terms of strength.

Oden used his territorial ability, there was only one human which was the black armored guy.

Oden's right hand was cover with blood.. he removed his hand from the pieces of the bloody skull. He looked towards the black armored guy.

Oden smiled at the black-armored man, it was a wicked smile.

the hunter understood, he wasn't messing with a normal guy, but it was too late, to ask for forgiveness.

The black man took a step backwards. He was totally freaked out.

"Leave me….leave me, take all the money. Just leave me. spare me."

Oden was slowly walking towards his prey. He smiled 'Do you think I am a robber ?'

The black-armored guy was sweating…tears fell from his eyes, he knew the silver guy was stronger than him. if he was taken in a single punch, What will happen to me ?

'leave me I won't tell anyone…spare me

Please spare me.'

Oden just poked his finger into his neck…and removed it.

The lifeless body fell on the ground…

They both were carrying bags…there was food and water.

Oden washed his hands. He got 30000 Ruz from them and some food, enough for two days.

He searches for the little wolf. But didn't find it.

When he searches with his territorial ability, he found it was going back to his litter.

'It was so small but it still knew the direction I was heading'

'Creatures is surely interesting…I am a demon too.'

He smiled looking in the direction of the pup.

Oden couldn't see the wolf but it was sure in which direction it was heading…to his litter.

He thought about taking him. But that could be problematic. After thinking about this incident. He headed towards the city.

After 8 hours of running with a break in between, he felt fatigued. He found a nice place to spend the night. He took the packed food out and started eating.

' this feeling was odd…as if I am eating for the first time. Looks like my body will take time to get familiar with packed food.'

It took him about 2 hours of sleep before waking up. He felt fresh. Oden was able to tell the time only because of the watch he got from his last kill. The watch looked quite expensive.

He took the watch so he can sell it to get some money.

It was still night. But he didn't want to delay anymore. Anyway, the quote "to work in the day and to rest in the night" was only applicable to humans.

Oden wasn't far from the city… as he went closer to the city there were some shops still open at night.

They were all staring at him. As they don't see a man going bare-chest at night every day.

Oden brought a shirt from a shop. It cost 2 Ruz. The shopkeeper even asked him what he was doing here at night. But Oden didn't answer.

Many shopkeepers even smiled at him, after seeing him wearing a shirt.

Oden had no idea why wear they smiling?

'I have gained attraction…people never noticed me in the past.'

He went behind a tree and changed his face.

He also gave himself a new name…
