9 Chapter 9

Once again I open my eyes up and see a dead glowing crimson fish.

Surprisingly, the fish still glowed after it died. Still in a magical world it seems and then the pain in my shoulder rears its ugly head. Reminding me that I should probably do something about it.

Turning over and sitting straight up, which makes my shoulder hurt even more, I look at my shoulder for the first time since I received the injury from the massive buck. And man, it feels bad but its just a graze. The wound is only a graze because it was a small wind bullet, can't imagine what it would have looked like if it was a larger wind bullet or a wind blade...

Ripping the bottom part of my dress, I turn it into a temporary bandage for my shoulder. Making my dress a lot shorter than I'd like, but its not like there are any other people here. So I just need to deal with it.

Apparently my dress on the other hand can't deal with its new look, a thin silver magic script loops around the torn area of my dress. I watch as the script repairs my dress string by string, until it looks like I didn't just rip pieces off it moments ago. Thinking my jacket has the same function, I wait to see if a similar script pops up. Sadly my hope is dashed when I realize that my jacket would have auto repair itself hours ago if it had a similar function.

With a torn jacket and a newly repaired dress, I slowly walked out of the clearing surrounding the lake and back into the magical forest.

Avoiding the more agile magical creatures as my shoulder heals, I've managed to walk in the opposite direction that I had been traveling before for the past two days. Most of the magical creatures I've encountered were of similar varieties to the ones I saw in the other direction in my earlier days in the magical forest. Which was good, no more surprises that could potentially kill me.

I've been keeping my shoulder wound clean by manipulating water to clean it, followed by another piece of my dress to bandage it. And for the used pieces of dress, naturally I burn those. Can't be littering in a magical world now can we.

Although cleaning my wound with just water instead of sort of disinfectant isn't ideal, so I tried to heal my would magically with water magic and then light magic. However, this world apparently doesn't recognize either element as a healing element. Maybe the holy element exists here?

Too bad that doesn't really matter, since I have no clue how to even generate the holy element with any hand gesture. Or maybe I'm doing both the water and light magic healing thing wrongly.

Fun times....

Four days after I woke up to a glowing crimson fish in my face, I see a man made structure hidden in a grove of trees.

The man made structure was a single story hut that was made of some kind of darkwood and looked to have been abandon millennium ago.

In addition, three meters before the man made structure was a sign post. Weird squiggly lines were written in something I am 100% hoping isn't blood of any kind and is just some very permanent ink.

The way that the squiggly lines were grouped made it seem that there were seven words in whatever message was left behind. Whatever meaning this sign once had is lost to time.

How sad.

But If this is the official language of the inhabitants of this world I'm totally screwed. I would literally have preferred pictograms as a form of written language to this. At least I could get a vague sense of what the person was trying to say!

With no reference to decipher the message of the sign post, I walk past it and to the front door of the hut. Hopefully it's unlocked!
