2 Arc 1: Chapter 1

An excruciating pain spreads through his limbs causing his body to spasm. When his body stills he's covered in sweat feeling boneless and limp. Taking deep breaths Yun Heng looks around taking in his surroundings. It's dark and he can barely see anything. He's lying on a soft mattress and can make out that he's in a bedroom. He feels a pair of headphones covering his ears but he makes no move to remove it.

Ni Ni what's going on?

[You have been transmigrated into your first world. I will transfer the plot of the story and your missions]

The first world is usually easy in order to help the host get accustomed to the process. You are in a modern world this time to make the transition easy. The female lead, Yang Xi, in this story was born in a middle class family. She was raised with the love of both her parents and she was doted on. However when she was in the second year of middle school her parents passed away in the crossfires of a gang shooting. She was taken in by her aunt and uncle who weren't very willing but didn't have a choice. Her uncle was deep in debt from gambling and decided to take this chance to sell off her parents house and take the inheritance they had left for her college funds. He of course couldn't stay away from gambling so soon enough he ended up back in debt. When the creditors sent goons to take back the money he had nothing to give. He ended up selling the female lead to make up for his debts. From this point the female lead only faced the dark side of humanity and she became jaded. Luckily she wasn't prostituted but she was used as a hostess at a bar that was almost a brothel. She eventually made enough money to pay back the debts and bought her own freedom. Taking up many part-time jobs she graduated from high school and got into a reputed college. Her goal became to cling onto a golden thigh and live a comfortable, rich life, never having to face any humiliation ever again. She didn't care what she had to do or who would be sacrificed along the way. Luckily her Female lead halo gave her a chance meeting with the Male lead. The male lead is the CEO of the largest electronics company in the world the Zhao Corporation. Yang Xi showed the male lead that she was a strong independent woman who didn't want to depend on any man. He was intrigued by her personality as he was always surrounded by shy, white lotus type women who threw themselves at him. She became his secretary and eventually they fell in love. She became his wife, getting all the wealth and prestige that she desired. He died never knowing the true face of his beloved wife.

Who am I in this story? Yun Heng calmly looks to Ni Ni for answers.

[You are the poor cannon fodder Xiao Jun. You were Yang Xi's college classmate and you were one of the top students in your class. You also got a job at the Zhao Corporation and your position was pretty high. Yang Xi felt threatened and jealous of your success so she decided to use you in her plans to catch the CEO. Xiao Jun suffers from an extreme hypersensitivity to sound and so always wears noise cancelling headphones at all times, causing him to be a loner. Yang Xi used this to pretend that he tried to rape her. Nobody knew anything about his personality and his headphones muted much of the life around him. He was seen as suspicious and nobody believed him when he pleaded innocent. Yang Xi faked a lot of evidence proving that he was the criminal. By this time the CEO, Zhao Yixuan, was already infatuated with Yang Xi so he was enraged by Xiao Jun. Xiao Jun was arrested and jailed and Zhao Yixuan used his contacts to make sure that some prisoners would torture him everyday. The sad part is that the worst torture for Xiao Jun wasn't his physical beatings but that they took away his headphones. He went crazy with all of the sound exposure and commited suicide to find relief.]

Poor sap, he just tried to live his life and some green tea bitch just used him to climb the ladder. Until the end he never understood what was happening and why he was framed. What a sad fate. Ni Ni slowly shook her head in pity for the kid.

Ni Ni looked at Yun Heng and said [You need to help fulfill some of Xiao Jun's regrets and reverse the fate of the story to create a genuine happy ending]

[You are still in University and you are 6 months away from getting the job at Zhao Corporation. There is a system store where you can buy skills and items that will help you with your missions but you have no points. There is a complementary starter pack to help you with your first mission: 2 x nutrition pills, 2 x healing pills, 2 x impurity purging pills, there are a few other things but I'm too lazy to list it all out. Don't worry I'll tell you if there's something in the pack that will help you out when it's time.]

Yun Heng didn't have any opinions or problems with what she said so he just calmly accepted the situation. He got up out of bed and walked with his hands held out in front of him to search for a wall to find the lights. He switched on the lights and looked around his new room. It was a small room with plain white walls. There was a small bed pushed up against one side of the room and there was a study table on the other side. He could see a small closet opposite him so he walked towards it. The entire room was organized neatly, in fact it looked almost too organized. Everything was sorted by alphabetically and by size. All of the clothes in the closet were neatly and precisely folded and arranged according to color. There weren't too many clothes and it was mostly dominated by hoodies. There were probably only a few shirts. All of the hoodies were designed to accommodate his noise cancelling headphones.

Feeling curious Yun Heng removed the headphones for a second. He immediately almost passed out from all of the stimulus. Even the tiniest sound was amplified by a million. The sound of the air conditioner, the dripping of the water from the bathroom faucet, the slight creak from the closet door, a little shifting of the paper on the table from the air. Everything felt like sharp knives drilling into his ears. No wonder Xiao Jun constantly wore the headphones, he would definitely go crazy without them.

Yun Heng shuffled around the room looking through all of the stuff. He found his college classes schedule and all of the work he had to hand in. Feeling more prepared to face the next few days he decided to check out what he looked like. Walking into the bathroom he looked into the mirror. Interestingly he had the exact same face as in his original life. He had soft dark black hair, creamy supple skin and watery peach blossom eyes that seemed to glimmer in the light. He touched his hair that reached shoulder length and ran his fingers through it. In the pictures he saw of Xiao Jun he saw that Xiao Jun would always tie up his hair in the exact same way. Closing his eyes, Yun Heng tried to assimilate Xiao Jun's personality to his own. It wasn't really working that well as he couldn't understand any emotions and couldn't feel what Xiao Jun might have felt, but he decided he would try and fake it as much as possible. Having created a plan of action he went back to the bed and closed his eyes to rest. It had been a long day and he was exhausted.
