7 Chapter Seven: Doctor Liz

Clair went back inside her office and took her bag with her. She then left for her appointment with Miss Jennifer Denis who is also her friend.

After her lunch, she decided to leave straight to Doctor Liz's office. She told Yaci to send all the extra paperwork she has for the rest of the day to her house and she drove on her own to her psychologist. When she entered the building everyone recognized her and let her in without question. She knocked on the office door and waited."Come in."She heard Doctor Liz call. She opened the door and closed it.

She took a seat in front of Doctor Liz's desk and crossed one leg over the other."Good afternoon."She greeted politely but her tone neutral."Good afternoon Angie tell me how was your day." Doctor Liz greeted her.

"It was the usual Doctor Liz," Clair responded indifferently. The woman sighed and got up from her seat with a recorder in her hand. She sat down on top of her desk and crossed her arms."Anything special or exciting?"She asked.

"Nothing."Clair answered a bit annoyed at her."Please get straight to the point."Clair told her. The woman shook her head in disappointment.' Even though the process is slow it's at least some process.' Doctor Liz thought. In their first meeting, Clair would not say a single word but for now, she has made some process at least.

"Any suicidal thoughts lately?"She asked."Yes."Clair answered not making eye contact with her."When?"Doctor Liz asked. Clair got up from the chair and walked towards the window."Just last night doc."

"And why?"Doctor Liz asked."Because I remember that night as if it were just a few seconds ago, and I'm tired of that." She answered.

"Why else?"

"Because I feel guilty."

"And?"

"We should move on to the next question of the day."Clair suddenly turned around and walked towards the bookshelf."You always pace around my room when you answer my questions, why is that?" Doctor Liz asked the same question as every day before today.

"Because if I don't I might just choke you to death," Clair responded differently than other days. "Doc whether you like it or not I'm still a killer and you can't change that. Killing those who irritate me is only normal so please stop searching for your doom." Clair warned her.

She couldn't understand why a woman like her would volunteer to attend an assassin. She is aware that she can die in her hands and yet she's brave enough to ask questions that not even her adoptive father and brother dare to ask.

Doctor Liz remained unfazed making Clair a bit more annoyed.' This woman is well trained' Clair thought.

"You need to take a break once in a while. Not just your body but your brain too. Don't drown yourself in work that won't make you feel any less sad and empty."She told her with a soft genuine smile. This took Clair off guard but she made sure not to show it.

"If I don't then my thoughts will be out in the open. I might just commit suicide again doc and who shall take the blame?"Clair gave her a sly smile and walked to the water dispenser.

"That's good. It's better if you learn how to confront your thoughts and emotions better so you can realize you need help from people too." Doctor Liz responded. Clair shook her head."Next question, time is ticking doc."

"Love interests, are there any?"She asked. Clair scoffed."They are all greedy cheating bastards no thank you."She took a paper cup and filled it with water, gulping the cold substance in one go.

"Someday you will meet a great man who you can rely on. I get that you are independent but letting someone support you and carry the weights on your shoulders for you once in a while is not bad." Doctor Liz suggested. Clair understood that this romance talk has to do with her father. He's probably looking for her husband as they speak.

"Whatever." She replied.

"What's your workout schedule for this week?"She asked."I lowered it to two hours every morning. Elliot said I need to rest this week." Clair replied.

"Mmm try to go out more. Enjoy the nature around you and think about everything and anything. The possibilities are endless. You can use this as a very good way to find inspiration for your products." Doctor Liz handed her a map with locations.

Clair turned to look at her."No thank you."She took a seat in the chair and once again crossed one leg over the other."Sure tell Doctor Elliot to come along since he is an expert at that stuff." Clair sighed and answered calmly.

" I see you are very comfortable with him." Doctor Liz commented. "He took a bullet for me, literally. It's only obvious." Clair responded.

"Any hobbies lately?" Doctor Liz ignored her rude replies, as she is already used to it anyway. Clair hesitated before answering."I stopped singing for the past month." She responded.

"I understand this reminds you of your mother but you should let yourself go once in a while. I would say your mom wouldn't want to see you this way but that is stupid. It's not about how they should see you but how you see yourself. Is this who I want to be? Do I like feeling this way?"Doctor Liz told her."Now tell me how you feel when you sing and do you like that feeling." She asked.

Clair pursed her lips."En, I guess it feels like I'm closer to her and I feel like singing for her like she did to me.

Doctor Liz nodded with a smile on her face."Do you like that feeling?"She asked, Clair nodded."How much alcohol have you consumed?"

" Five times, with wine and champagne." Clair informed her, 'This is about my mental health right?' Clair wondered, not familiar with the new methods Doctor Liz is using to make her talk.

Doctor Liz nodded."It's not too bad it was supposed to be 3 times this week but it's better than last week."

"That day is coming, how do you feel?" Doctor Liz asked a very bold question. 'That' day is none other than her 'death' anniversary.

"Mn I feel like I should jump off that bridge again so I don't have to be questioned about every little thing I do anymore."Clair answered half-joking."Ha very funny. How many people have you killed this week Angie?" Doctor Liz asked another bold question.

Clair laughed."Mentally or physically?" By this, she meant the employees she has lashed out for being lazy or reckless which to her is normal since she is the boss.

"Both." Doctor Liz addressed with a small smile.

"Well, I might have left some mentally unstable at work but don't worry I haven't murdered anyone for the past five years unless…..you want me to break that record," Clair answered with a smirk.

Doctor Liz chuckled and turned the voice recorder off."That's it for today Angie.

"Mn, Better stop calling me Angie," Clair warned her. " Would You like Ainara better? I refuse to call you Clair. It's not your real name but Angie feels closer." Doctor Liz countered.

Clair's lips twitched. 'What the hell kind of psychologists did she even get? Is this how they are supposed to act or is it because I'm a 'special case?'

" Angie is fine." She answered. Nobody ever refers to her as Angle or Angie because she prefers Clair, not to mention Ainara which is off-limits, but this stubborn woman….

Clair got up and left the office. She rode her car towards her mansion.
