Chapter Fifty-Eight: Suddenly this turned into a date 3

"A date? Hmm, we should continue with our date after this errand, right?"

"Whoa, so it is a date!"

"It is not-"

"Don't worry, I understand. I promise to keep this a secret! Ahem, we have arrived." Amanda opened the door and guided them inside.

Since they had arrived and Amanda didn't give her a chance to explain, the only thing Clair could do was give up.

She secretly sent James a glare and followed Amanda inside.

James smiled and followed them.

When he realized his smile disappeared. He touched his lips and sighed. 'I seem to smile a lot lately.'

'Is it because of her?'

He shook his head and concentrated on what they were doing at the moment.

He watched her handle the situation with complete calmness and maturity, but she was very obviously upset.

After calling all the staff, including the models, she gave every person a certain group. She then gave each group a location and order. She made everything as organized as possible.

The next step was choosing the models.

Clair talked with Amanda for a few minutes, and then she asked her to start the photoshoot. She gave all the models a 'teaser' of how the real photo shoot would look like.

She had no choice but to have all the models auditioned today, if not she would feel bad for sending them all home. Though it would take a lot of time, she left everyone aware of what they had to do to speed up the process.

The photographers took their places and the first model went up.

Clair watched the photoshoot carefully from behind the scenes. She would occasionally comment on something and then ask them to continue.

They spent about an hour and out of the ten models 6 had already auditioned and gone home.

"Here, you look tired." He handed Clair a cup of coffee and a croissant. "Oh, thank you... wait, you are still here?" She asked.

"..."

Wow, he had been quiet to not disturb her work but…..

"I was here all along…"

"Oh…. Sorry, I was too distracted to notice. I thought you went back. You can do so, you know."

"Why would I? We have to continue our date afterward." He smirked.

Suddenly she has pissed at him again. "Look, the last thing I want is to be in rumors with you. What if I get labeled as one of those women who claim to be your wife? Please, I rather not!" She walked away from him angrily, as she remained off the misunderstanding he caused a while ago.

Thankfully, it was just one person.

"I don't mind. It wouldn't be a lie, anyway. You are my wife, aren't you?"

"Well, I mind! I don't want to get ripped to shreds by your crazy fans! Not only did I almost destroy your face, aka the core of their admiration, but also married you! Do you know how serious the situation is?" She explained, holding his shoulder with one of her hands.

"It's very, very, very serious."

He raised an eyebrow, "You didn't say that when you f-"

"Beep! When I fed you, yes, haha let's go check how the shoot is doing." She started laughing nervously and covered his mouth until the passing staff had disappeared into the distance.

"You still hold a grudge on that?" She asked with a whisper and sighed in relief.

"You think I don't remember it all?" He asked and leaned over. "I spent a steamy night with an alluring woman who disappeared the next morning. You left a note with money to pay for the room and my breakfast." He said in her ear.

"Did I?"

"Yeah, it kind of hurt my pride, you know. So of course I hold a grudge. Not only that, but they assigned me to catch an assassin. Trust me, you were a pain in the ass." He continued.

She looked up at him and retrieved her hand, looking away. She cleared her throat and tried not to blush.

Damn, she was so shameless that night.

"I'm sorry about that, It's not like I was an expert at one-night stands. Ahem* I'll make it up to you promise."

"How do you plan on doing that?"

"Uh…. I'll- just let me think about it alright?"

He nodded his head with a chuckle.

He then looked at Amanda, who was approaching them.

So she'll make it up to him, huh? He would look forward to that.

"Ms. Yves, I don't wish to take more of your time. I can handle the rest, I will also send you the finished product if you wish. Then I will email the winning model once you approve of it." Amanda told her, hoping she had not interrupted something.

"Okay! I'll take my leave now, I have things to take care of, anyway." She then asked James to leave with her.

When they were outside she picked out her phone to text her driver but James took it from her hands.

"We are on a date, remember?"

"We are not-"

"Don't you think our love story will be more convincing if we go out on dates?" He raised an eyebrow at her.

"That makes sense, but what exactly are we supposed to do?" She asked.

"To be honest... I have no idea. The only date I've been to is prom."

"You went to prom?"

"Yeah... with all my 15 cousins. It was not fun, but I failed to escape my aunts." He answered.

"Yikes…"

"Yeah, it wasn't fun at all."

"Wow, I never knew your family was so big, I mean I guess I know little about the royals after all."

James hummed in response and he shrugged. "Well, if we run across them. Keep your distance or you might have to spill everything to them. It's like another method of torture."

Clair burst out laughing, looking out at how serious his expression was.

"Noted."

"No, but really, you looked terrified. Who knew you actually have fears."

"Well, you only say that because you haven't met them yet." He defended himself.

"Fine, I'll judge myself if I meet them."

"Don't say I didn't warn you."

He looked into her eyes, and he smiled warmly.

"What?" She asked.

He blinked and looked ahead with his hands in his pockets. "Nothing, let's go." He pulled out his hand and handed it to her.

She pursed her lips, holding back a smile, and she intertwined their fingers together.

She couldn't lie, it made her kind of giddy?

This whole thing was new to her, and it kind of made her excited. Like a child who had made a discovery.

"Hah, well I haven't been on a date either so we are screwed." She sighed.

"I say you give me a tour of the city. See, I haven't been here much. It's not where my primary office is at."

"Really?"

"Yeah, it's hours from here. I'm not familiar with the place at all." He answered.

Clair grinned as if she had been waiting for this moment her entire life.

"Lucky for you, I love sneaking out. And exploring the city now and then."

It's been a while since I last updated so I decided to publish to chapters!
