7 CHAPTER 7

SAGE POV

I was sweating, sitting in front of me are powerful creatures that could ripped me apart, I eyes were moving from each person to another watching their movement carefully.

"Sage we are not going to hurt you, you said you were curious on why you heal fast right, well this is why."

She gestured all around then my brain registered something, do I heal fast because I'm also like them, that impossible right, but if Adeline is my father sister then is my dad a vampire also?, does that mean I'm also a vamp, this can not be happening, I mean, stuffs like this only happens in movie. God my brain is about to explode.

"Let me explain to you Sage. The life of supernatural started a long time ago, when I say I long time ago I mean B.C long. We hide from the humans and lead a peaceful life that until a war happened, the war happened because of hybrids."

I furrowed my eyebrows, I have a feeling that Adeline is not going into the details of the story for some reason but I decide to keep all question for now.

"Back then, two different creatures were allowed to mingle together and their children will become hybrids, but some hybrid has more than two creature blood in their vain, those kind are extremely rare, because it difficult enough to be just one creature having three or more creatures blood can kills and it can also drive other insane, but if they survived and learned control this type of hybrids are very powerful.

" remember when I said that your parents relationship was frowned on by the family well it because your father was an hybrid with the blood of a were-cat, a shape shifter and a Lux  and your mom was a tenebris." ( Latin for darkness)

Wait is she saying what I think she is saying, that not possible. No way

"You are four blooded hybrid, which is pretty much impossible."

My mind was blank, I was speechless, I'm I going to die? what going to happen to me?

"Sage I know it scary, but it going to be okay, if you were going to die, you would have been dead at the age of four because three or more blooded hybrid does not live pass the age of four."

Frank voice held excitement like he won a lottery, what so exciting about having four different supernatural creature blood in your body, it seems dangerous and unstable.

"Sage, your fast healing is part of your powers, and remember when you beat Sean up and didn't remember it, it because you lost control of your powers. It seems that you can't control your power when it triggered."

My head was spinning, I held the table for some support, what the hell is all this. Ezra and Dean walked in with trays of snacks, fruit and water, and set it in front of each person on the table, I took the bottled water set before me and took a gulped from it.

"We can help you control it, and find out where you fit in the process."

It was Ophelia that spoke now but it wasn't her nice, gentle voice, her voice was cold and distant. I set down the bottle water and watched as everyone started to eat except Ophelia and I was irritated.

"I didn't ask for any of this, so why Is this happening to me, you should have just left me with my adoptive family, I was normal before all this."

I was tired, this is a nightmare, how do I live a normal life now. Adeline looked hurt at what I said and Marcus is giving me death glares. I sighed out loud, feeling extremely tired. Then Styx started laughing, she laughed like she was watching a comedy drama and we all looked at her like she is crazy.

"Normal you said, you were never normal, just like your father, you are an abomination that should have die but Alas! Here will are. Who knows, maybe it was because of you that all this killings started may....

" ENOUGH! "

Adeline shouted and it was like a thunder strike, it scared the hell out of me, what the hell, and what does she mean by killings.

"You want me to stop, then you should have left this pathetic excuse for a supernatural to those human to cater for, you shouldn't have remove Ophelia from the......."

"So that what it about then."

Danny cut Styx off, and she looked pissed, he laughed, the kind of laugh you give someone when they are in trouble.

"Stay out of this Daniel."

Styx warned him, and Danny only scoffed, Styx raised his left eyebrow at him, as if asking Danny what it is, he want to say and Danny ignore him.

"We all know, tigress here is only the Head temporary. Everyone agreed to it back then."

"But even though being a temporary Head she Carried out all her duties without a mistake and for that she deserves this position more than that mistake."

Adeline hissed at Styx, her fangs were out and her eyes were glowing but Styx ignored her and took a bitchy stand, she scoffed and look at Adeline with an evil smirk. And I wondered why Ophelia isn't stopping her mother, instead she sat there expressionless.

"He should be put to death by the clan law anyway, because, he is carrying the blood of a lux and tenebris, he should be killed before other clans elders find out and we are attacked or worse killed."

And like that I blacked out.

Marcus POV

Sage head hit the table with a loud bang breaking the plates set in front of him, and all heads were turn to him, I could tell that Adeline was furious but her rage soon turns to panicked when she saw Sage banged head bleeding, before she approached Sage chair, Sage stood up suddenly, sending the chair flying back, the aura surrounding him was deadly and I flinched a little when he let out an animalistic growl. This is bad.

Everyone was on their feet and alerted. Cat ear grew on his head and a tail fast as whip and strong as a steel came from behinds and broke the dinning table in half, we all took few step back away from the beast in front of us, all except Adeline who is trying to get close to Sage. At the moment, we don't know anything about Sage's power so engaging in a combat with him will be pretty foolish.

"Sage calm down, no one is going to hurt you."

The tenebris aura was beginning to thicken to the extended that it was becoming visible to the naked eyes, all flowers and grasses around Sage all withered in an instant, it was like life was drained from them.  Adeline tried to move close to him again and I grabbed her from the back stopping her.

"Let go of me!"

When sage opened his eyes, it wasn't normal, it was cat like yellow with green specks then everything stopped. The aura, the sudden dark clouds and murderous vibe we are getting from him all stopped, instead, he just stood there with cat ears, cat tail and yellow eyes. His were-cat blood must be very active, which means, he is super fast and extremely sensitive.

"Why is he just standing there?"

Peace asked quietly, I've even forgotten, she was here. She did asked a good question, Sage stood there accessing us to decide whether we are enemies or friend.

"You see this was what I was talking about, he could be the death of us all."

Styx whisper yelled.

"Mac! Let go of me."

Adeline struggled angrily between my arms and I let her go. she glared at Styx and I swallowed nervously, because sometimes Adeline can be unpredictable and I pray it not one of those time because the last thing we need now is fighting among elders, instead she turn to sage and tried to calm him.

"Sage, are you listening, I know this is hard for you, and some of us are not making it better, but I promise you that I will lay my life down first before any harm is done to you, so please calm down."

Styx rolled her eyes and I'm tempted to rip her head off, I looked back at Adeline who now has the Strange Sage in a hug, and he was back to normal. I guess the real reason I never like Sage is because Adeline always stressed herself when it comes to him. Sage is a burden that is left for Adeline by her brother.

I released a sigh I didn't know I was holding, Dean, Ezra and Ralph came into the garden, looking worried and surprised at the destruction.

"Help me carry him to his room, have Onyx check on him."

Dean nodded and carried the unconscious Sage bridal style, Ralph and Ezra followed him, I would have laughed at his scene because Sage is obviously taller than Dean, but the situation at hand is serious.

"I hate...., I mean I really hate Styx twisted mind but I think she is kinda, a tiny, little bit right"

Styx rolled her eyes at me and Adeline glared at me, daring me to repeat what I said.

"How?"

Her eyes were glowing and her fangs are out, I swallowed thickly and masked my nerves, am an Alpha I'm not scared of anything but with Adeline it a total different story, especially when she is pissed.

"Did you see the flowers, look at the grass, only a high level tenebris aura can do that, and when I say high level, I mean same level as me or higher than me."

Danny beat me to what I wanted to say and I'm kinda thankful, maybe sage is dangerous to have around us. But Frank shook his head and said

"He is not dangerous, he just need a little acceptance and help, he didn't attack any of us even though he lost control, and now we can all tell his powers are triggered by fear so he just needs a little time to adjust."

"Let put it to a vote then."

Peace, like her name is always the one that is calm and rational when we clash heads, that why she is Head of Clan advisor.

"But not every elder in the family is here, I mean Ivy is AWOL, and Darius refuse to come out of his room because of his stupid experiments."

Peace ignored Styx and continues with her opinion on the voting.

"If you want Sage to be reported to the Bloodline and not given the position of the Head of Clan raise your hand."

Adeline flinched at the mention of the the Bloodline, The Bloodline are descendants of the first hybrids, they punishes law breakers in the supernatural world, they are ruthless and merciless. They tried to kill Jared and Nadia when they found out that they were dating, they were one of the reasons why Jared and Nadia ran away.

Quickly Styx raised her hands followed by Ophelia then Danny, hurt flashes in Adeline face when she saw Danny raising his hands, I mean Sage is also his nephew.

"Sorry Adeline, even though he is my sister son, he is still something that shouldn't exist."

"And if you are in opposition to this term raise your hand."

I raise my hand because I know how much Sage meant to Adeline, and frank might be a little right. Adeline raised her hand and so did Frank, it was a tie, we all turned to Peace to make the final decision as usual. Peace sighed heavily, she tucked her purple dyed curly long hair behind her ears, her black eyes were looking at the dead plant that Sage's aura affected, her chocolate skin was glittering with sweat.

"I think....

SAGE POV

I woke up with a head splitting headache, I groaned as my eye adjusted to the lights in the room, recognizing the room to be mine, I sighed a little relieved, but how did I get inside, I certainly didn't get here myself, I sat up my bed and came face to face with a crazy looking man, his dirty brown hair looked uncombed and unwashed, his sliver eyes mirrored his excitement and his curiosity, he smells a little.

"I'm sure you are surprise as to why I'm here right?"

I shook my head, he's kinda of creeping me out, he scoot over to me and I moved back only to feel dizzy. Have been drugged?

"You should take it easy. It a miracle you are alive already."

I looked at him a little taken back by what Styx said, she did said I should be put to death because I have the blood of a lux and tenebris, are they going to kill me? is this why Adeline brought me here?

"Whoa, you gotta calm down before you go all Cat noir on us again."

He made a calming motion with his hand and i took in a deep breath, did I just panic? My life is just getting weirder every day with different questions filling up my head.

"I'm Darius by the way, Head of scientific department and information on all supernatural creatures."

He stretched out his hand and I shook it, for some reason, I don't trust Darius, he looks like a mad scientist and the way his eye shone mischievously like he has been brought a new toy, rings alarm bell in my brain.

"So......don't you have questions or things you will like to know?"

I have billions of questions, I'm very curious as to why my death is not far from this people's mouth.

"What do you mean, it a miracle I'm alive?"

He cleared his throat and worn a serious expression like he was about to give a presentation and I scoffed at him.

"You have four different blood in your body, each cells of those blood are fighting each other, trying to dominate one another. Even though some supernatural creatures comes from the evolution in human beings blood cell, hybrids blood doesn't evolved instead it rejects one another, so it a Miracle that you are whole and not in pieces."

I was numb, I don't know what to do, should I blame my parents for giving birth to me, or I should blame Adeline for bringing me here and helping me learn the truth About what I am.

"Your powers seems to be triggered by one emotion. Fear, when you are scared, your power gets out of control like a defense mechanism."

I nodded my head in understanding, what he said is true, when Sean attacked me, I was scared that he would kill me, then I blackout, my blackout must have happened when I lose control of my power.

"Styx said the clan is suppose to kill me cause of the blood of tenebris and Lux that I have."

"Yes, we should kill you but we won't. You see, the first hybrid was a combination of Tenebris and lux. He was too powerful and deadly, no supernatural can stand against him and live, so before he died he created a group of hybrid called Bloodline and made laws for the supernatural world to follow and the Bloodline to enforce the laws. One of the law is that a Tenebris and Lux blood must never mix again, failure to obey this law is death to the parent, the hybrid and his or her clan

The Bloodlines are made up of hybrids, they sometimes help hybrids control their power and if that not possible they kill the hybrid and sometimes they recruit hybrids with promising power."

He pause like as if he was thinking of something.

"They don't sound so bad, maybe they can help me."

Darius laughed like a Mad man, when he quite down, his eyes were cold and hallow and I shifted away from him on instinct.

"Help?, they will kill you Sage, do you have any idea, how many hybrids they have killed, they are ruthless, no four blooded creature exist, do you know why?"

Darius was angry, I have a feeling that he doesn't like them much. I shook my head.

"It because most of the four blooded creatures are killed as an infant by the Bloodline line or their clan."

Darius took a deep breath and calm down, he looked tried, like he just relieved a bad memory. He stood up to leave.

"I will ask Ezra to bring you dinner, rest, you really need it."

Darius left, leaving me to think. what should I do now.
