Chapter 1

My name is Elsa King.

It's probably the most expensive thing I own thanks to the orphanage I grew up in.

I did have foster homes but they were all bad.

I ran out of the last one when I was sixteen after the man nearly forced himself on me, a man who was supposed to be my father.

I was homeless but I mingled with other kids on the streets and I slept in tents at night.

First year on my own was difficult but I got a job at seventeen, a baby sitting job.

I was happy because it came with shelter and some meals.

They were really warm and for the first time in my life I felt like I was part of a family.

I was with them even after the baby weaned.

But sadly they relocated to another city.

I was down but being with them for two years, I was able to save some money.

I rented a room and moved in, there wasn't much in it but I was happy.

The following month I got a job at a coffee shop.

The shop was close to my home so it was a good thing.

That's where I am right now.

"who's that dude waiting for? you?" Jenny asked Clara

"of course not, I don't even know him!" She answered.

"who's that?" I asked.

"look over there" I followed her pointed finger and saw a guy leaning on the sides his eyes on us.

He looks oddly familiar.

"I think I've seen him before" I said

"he's been there for hours, dude is giving me the creeps" Clara snickered.

"He isn't causing any troubles yet so let's act like we ain't seeing him." Jenny said

CLOSED

We closed really late today which isn't a wonder because people kept coming in to grab a cup of coffee and some snacks.

I looked around but I didn't see the mystery guy.

Going home late isn't a new thing to me, that's what I get working in a coffee shop.

Not like anyone cares if am home early or not anyways.

With no family or friends I can move to the moon for all anyone cares.

I felt the night breeze on my skin as I walked home.

Today has gone well, no one pissed me off at work so all was cool.

I can't wait to get home and then take a shower.

It's been a long day.

I was still thinking about the shower when I heard someone walking closely behind me.

It was pretty dark and I know that it is no use turning because I wouldn't make out who it is though I could tell with the footsteps that it's a guy.

he must be wearing a really big boot.

I slowed my pace, expecting him to walk past me but he slowed his too.

Suddenly a wave of fear washed through me.

The stories I've heard of girls being kidnapped, raped and killed by total strangers isn't helping matters at all.

I increased my space and so did he. I made to run when I felt someone grab wrist.

The grip was pretty strong.

"Don't make a sound" He whispered against my ear with his palm covering my mouth.

My first impulse was not to scream but to bite him which I almost did when I heard him say.

"and don't bite me either or you're gonna regret it." He said in a mid whisper.

I bit the insides of my cheeks to prevent myself from crying.

It was hopeless.

This route is always so lonely at night.

He must know it because he doesn't act like he's worried about someone passing by.

Just then a car pulled up and the driver came out and opened the doors.

He came over and bowed to the guy holding me "boss."

I can't make out much about their features but one thing is clear, the guy behind me is really muscular.

"we're going to walk into that car and

don't even think of starting anything if you don't wanna get hurt." he breathed against me and made me shudder.

"Not a sound, do you hear me?" he whispered and it nodded.

He removed his hand from my mouth and left me gasping.

"Let's go." he ordered and the driver started and he led me towards the car.

"Is this a kidnap? I blurted as I felt the tears sting my eyes.

"It's a rescue." he stated pushing me into the car.
