1 Prelude

Over two hundred and fifty years ago, Jupiter and Pluto agreed on what time of the year, Proserpina, the daughter of the former and Ceres, would belong to them. The agreement was the cause of the seasons on earth, and it has been obeyed by both parties. When Proserpina reluctantly goes to the underworld to be with her husband, Pluto (her abductor), for half of the year, there would be famine and droughts, these disasters were usually caused by Ceres (goddess of the harvest) whenever she was angry or sad, but the land becomes blossoming when her daughter returns to her in Olympus for the other half of the year.

One day, Proserpina did not return to Pluto, even when he waited until it got to a year. He felt cheated on and angrily stumps at the Dii - Consentes and demands he takes his wife with him, he further accused Ceres of breaking the bargain, the Olympians admitted their mistakes, but Ceres refuses to give up Proserpina, claiming her daughter was maltreated and raped so many times, Pluto denied the claims. However, Jupiter believed his sister, even though he wasn't sure of the truth; he doesn't want her to pour her emotions onto the earth, this was something he and the other gods feared. Pluto insulted him for being unjust despite being the god of Justice and further calling him a fool. Jupiter angrily struck his brother out of Olympus with his lightning bolt. A bruised Pluto, scared on the face, had to retreat to his abode, furious.

Mars the god of war, disliked by the others visited Pluto in the underworld, he told Pluto he wasn't in support of his father and hated him because he lacked love from his father. He came up with an idea to overthrow Jupiter, and both gods came to terms with each other, and they plotted against Jupiter and those that supported him.

Jupiter regretted his actions toward his brother, he called his youngest son Mercury (the messenger god of swiftness and tricks) and sent him to the underworld to apologize on behalf of him and to make another bargain (one that Mercury had in mind as he was the one who made the previous bargain). Obedient and ever-serving Mercury races to the underworld and did as his father had said, but he was knocked out by Mars and was caged in an unseen place. Jupiter learns of Mars's betrayal and Mercury's abduction and storms into the underworld with the other gods: Neptune, Minerva and the Leto's twins. They fought the creatures of the underworld and made it to Pluto, but didn't find him. Meanwhile, Pluto was already in Olympus with Mars's help, and he was able to abduct Proserpina again. Ceres and Vulcan (god of fire and the forge) try to confront him, but Mars attacks them, killing them both. Mars urged Venus to come with him, but she disagrees and calls him a madman, he killed her, and they left. Jupiter and others returned to Olympus and find out what Pluto and Mars have done. Jupiter called a war, allying with the gods and demigods against Pluto and his forces of darkness. The war took a decade and its outcome affected mankind, causing conflicts between kingdoms, natural disasters and deaths. Pluto and his dark forces were losing the war, causing a dilemma for the now troubled god. Mars, too, was scared of losing to his father and receiving his curse, so he came up with a plan to release the Titans from Tartarus. He shared his plan with Pluto, but Pluto disagreed, acknowledging the consequences that follow. Mars, however, made him agree, and they went to Tartarus to negotiate with the imprisoned Titans. The Titans agreed to leave after they have cast their vengeance on Jupiter.

So they waged another war, which was a distraction so that they could steal the keys to Tartarus, they were successful in the end and retreated.

They freed the Titans and went up against Jupiter at Olympus. The war they fought was an emergency, the Titans destroyed everything. The gods tried hard to stop the Titans even at their weakest moments, however, they managed to weaken them with an ancient power they had in possession. Some gods died and some moved out, weakened in obliviousness.

Pluto achieved his goal with Proserpina by his side as his Queen, Mars was missing in action and Pluto assumed he had died in the final battle. The power used on the Titans made them disintegrate within a short period of time. Pluto began to rule the world using human forces to conquer, he brainwashed kings and made them fight under his name. He unleashed darkness and sorrow over those that refuses to worship him and made the sky over Olympus and Italy dark like it was about to rain. The humans faced such climatic conditions and hoped they find a saviour.

Jupiter exiled himself to a faraway country living among humans, weakened without his lightning bolt, and faced the fact that his kingdom and his family were all gone. Over the years, the humans prayed to the gods for help, but their gods were unavailable and for two hundred years they lived in acknowledgement of Pluto as the one and the only existing god who is not even a dii-consente. Some kingdoms still worship their gods, believing they do answer despite being unreachable.
