Opportunities

Louisa's POV

"Louisa I didn't ask you to come with me just so you can sit and watch, you are not here to be a spectator." Aminu's mom said to me as she came back to our table and met me quietly observing all that was going on at the event.

It's a Wednesday evening and after a hard day's work I would rather be lying down in my bed resting, instead of sitting here with a bunch of rich old folks who are just looking for an excuse to spend money all in the name of a midweek dinner. But of course, I can't say this to Aminu's mom, since the last time I accompanied her to do her shopping, we've both hit it right off and now we seem a bit close. So when she called me yesterday and requested that I accompany her to a midweek party one of her friends is organizing, I obliged.

"You are supposed to be networking not sitting down and moping," Aminu's mom said to me as she sat down next to me.
